Computers: There are computer labs in my residence hall and there is a library that has alot of computers. The labs in the residence hall usually have people in them who are on facebook and things since they do not have there own computers. So I would recommend going to the library. They do have printers in there you can use too. When you print at the library it is free unless you print multiple copies of the same document. The wireless internet is usually pretty fast, but sometimes it goes down for a little while. However, there are places in the dorm rooms to plug an ethernet cord into a laptop. It is so much easier to have your own computer.

Greek Life: Plenty to Choose from – There are plenty of Greeks to choose from and there are the campus favorites and the campus hated. The frats are well known for throwing amazing parties which isn't a social status.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Some Crime – The crime that is on campus is mostly petty things like smoking in the rooms or a fight, there so far hasn't been anything very major.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Mostly Chain Resturants – The campus has restaurants like McDonald's, Hardees, Chic-Fil-A and like so.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The Process Is Long – the process to getting financial aid is easy if you dont mind filling out a zillion pages of paper work. Make sure you fill out everything by the due date or else it will be hard for you to get the financial aid you need. If ever you have questions or concerns make sure you stay in touch with the office. They are very helpful.

Campus Housing: Not the Best Place to Live – The freshman dorms at ASU are nasty. I feel like they are not well kept up and are always junky. The upperclassman dorms are a little better but not much. As soon as I get enough money to move off campus, I will.

Academics: My college has excellent academics. The professors really know what they are talking about. So far I have not experienced any bad teaching. I love how the school gives us academic advisors in our specific field. It helps us understand better exactly what classes we really need. Our general education requirements are pretty steep, but everyone has to do them so there are really no complaints. I love the small class size because it really helps me to interact well with others as well as the instructor.

Overall Experience: Astate is an awesome school with a lot of activities! The instructors are so clear and patient, there is this great environment!

Local Atmosphere: Jonesboro, a Quiet Place – Jonesboro, AR is such a nice and quiet place. You can feel safeness in the moment you are here. It is family-place, with a lot of activies, the parks are just phenomenal!

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: University Hall or Female Dorm – great all the dorms and living arrangements are the best

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Fun Fun Fun – the school is very fun everyone is accepting its very diverse there is over 300 organizations and clubs you can join theres always something to do rather in town or on campus

Drug Safety: Not Much of a Problem – Most people on campus just drink. I don't know of there being a big drug problem, besides smoking marijuana

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Not Much Choice – Jonesboro doesn't have much of a club/bar scene. A few bars downtown are fun, but not much to choose from. Fraternity and house parties get the most action.

2 College Junior

Computers: Less Than up to Par – The computers at ASU are new and in good shape, but the internet connection is terrible. The computers are extremely slow and the servers are often down. There is free printing in the library, but it takes at least 30 minutes to print 1 page. There is often not any computers available at all because there are so few computers compared to the number of students. To get anything done in a timely manner you need your own computer and printer

3 College Junior

Weather: The weather is fine during the summer months. But as the summer turns into fall, weather is unpredictable. In the winter depending upon whether the student lives on campus or off campus, weather does affect the classes altogeher.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Being Off-Campus – I have friends who live off campus and there has been issues with parking availablity. The costs of many of the apartment complexes are high but the ones near campus are reasonable if the person can budget well and has a nice paying job.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Campus Life Here – I feel safe on campus. The university police make sure we are taken care of and are on patrol every day and night. Campus crime has reduced a lot since more precauionary measures have been taken.

3 College Junior

Majors: Program of Study: Psychology – I love psychology, but the school in Florida that I transferred from was much more "into" psychology than ASU. They have a good psychology department, but I think as the number of students with that major grows, they should also grow. I've had the same teacher for multiple classes and I should probably have more variety in my teachers.

1 College Junior

Scholarships: The only reason they don't have an F is because the President/Cheif/etc. of the Financial aid office has been very, very kind and lenient with me and my scholarship. The rest of his office and staff are terrible. They are disorganized and rude. They could care less if you get yourself into a mess. You can only do so much by yourself without their help to get your mess cleaned up. At some point they need to quit worrying about their issues or whatever they're thinking about and help you out A LITTLE BIT. They weren't even in their office half the time I called. It's ridiculous.

Campus Strictness: This issue is personal for me. I forgot to sign in on my teacher's sign in sheet a few more times than I should have and out of that, I actually was lucky to get a D in her class when I had clearly made a solid B+. I had never had a teacher care for attendance like that one, and I was almost a junior when I had her. So, attendance policy has left a bitter taste in my mouth at ASU. It's so bad that I applied to another school to take corresponding courses so I would not have to take that teacher again to raise my grade.

4 College Junior

Weather: When Its Hot Its HOT! Weather is usually fine here. March-June there is alot of rain and tornado warnings. Garage parking can be horrible because everyone wants to park. It snows and class is canceled sometimes but for the most part, professors alert you of canceled class way before it starts and ASU has an emergency alert (text message) that will also inform students if it closes.

3 College Junior

Computers: Wireless Access – The campus computer system is just like a normal system. Its not too fast and not too slow. You can print, type, and surf at a normal speed. Its best to have your own laptop on campus but if you need to use the campus computer, you can always find an avaliable computer to use in the library and can also print information out.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Not Too Bad – As a freshman, if you work for it you will get some type of scholarship. Make sure to keep with deadlines. Earlier is always better.

4 College Junior

Weather: Rain is never too bad. No where on campus collects water too bad. Any time it snows class is out for like 2 or 3 days. Ice gets us out of class also. Summer is a time for short and tank tops. In winter you need jackets, but rarely anything too harsh.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Campus, Downtown, Memphis. Campus and frat parties and also house parties are always easy to find. The bars are mostly 18+ but some are 21+ after cetain times. For those interested in dancing, there is the Electric Cowboy. It also has a college night for 18+ but is 21+ the rest of the time. Not to meantion Memphis and Beale street is less than an hour away.
