Campus Dining: Tempe campus has the best options. The other campuses have their own strengths but struggle to keep up.

Campus Dining: there could be a small improvement with the health factor

Campus Dining: Overall, it's great. I don't have a lot of experience with dining but the times that I have gone to the M.U, dining is convenient and there is some variety. There are some places that are okay in value, but overall the price is fairly high. My favorite coffee shop on campus is Charlie's because they make delicious coffee drinks, they offer a variety of delicious foods, and the price matches the quality. I honestly do not mind spending a little extra at Charlie's on any given day, rather than buying a quick, cheap cup of coffee at the M.U convenience store (though they offer a lot of good snacks and have a nice salad bar).

Campus Dining: The food on campus provides a handful of options to dine with but are consistent week to week with the options that are provided. Some of the food options and specialty nights have tasteful selections while other items couldn't be cared less for. Dining hall hours could be considered convenient for the average student on a normal schedule.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: It has an overall great meal plan

While ASU dining is not five-star quality, it certainly is a step up from high-school cafeteria food. Many people would agree that there is enough variety around campus to be able to tolerate eating here a few times a week. You will be able to find anything that will tickle the taste buds, including healthier dining options at Engrained or more cultured foods, such as Mexican, Asian, and Italian food. Whatever the preference, ASU will be able to keep your stomach full. Memorial Union (MU) is the main location on campus to grab a bite to eat, and you really cannot go wrong there if you choose to eat on campus. There are also dining halls within different dorms and a few restaurants as well, including Subway at Hassayampa, in case you don't feel like grabbing your footlong in the MU. For better dining hall food, check out Barrett Honors College or Manzy Square for breakfast, a favorite among students.

A common problem many have complained about is having to accept a meal plan as a freshman living on campus. The cost to eat on campus will make you broke before you know it. Not only is the meal plan expensive, it is a clear waste of money because it makes you pay ahead of time for all your meals, and meals do not roll over into another semester. The quantity of food you get for the price is a total rip-off, and many would agree that eating off campus or at home would be the wiser thing to do. Walking to Mill Avenue could take 10 minutes extra, but not only will that help you from gaining the dreaded Freshman 15, it will keep your wallet in check as well.
