Weather: Phoenix in the summer can be brutal, with temps in the 110s and even 120s, but in the winter, it's the best place to be. Sunny and mild with no humidity? Pretty great.

Nightlife: Mill is very close and people seem to have a great time down there, but it is not a hoity toity area.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: They're SO strict about stupid stuff like parking and cheating, but don't seem to care as much about drinking.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Tempe isn't a huge hot spot, but there is a lot of stuff around us. If you're looking for night life, Mill and Scottsdale aren't too far.

1 College Junior

Parking: Parking costs an INSANE amount, and most of the lots are very far away.

Greek Life: I'm a part of greek life. It isn't huge here, but it is fun to be a part of. There is a lot of negativity from the community though.

Campus Dining: I lived in Barrett, so my dining situation was better than most. They have great options for vegetarians.

Overall Experience: I used to love it here, and I love the resources and my classes. However, the quality of people who go here is seriously lacking.

Weather: Arizona has fantastic weather, obviously. However, it DOES get cold.

Off-Campus Dining: Tons of fast food, with a few gems of actually good food. A bit hard for a vegetarian.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are a lot of different people here because it is a massive campus.

Health & Safety: I don't have much experience with the safety and security department.

College Junior

Drug Safety: It depends on who wants to know if its the best or the worst. For people who want to party, this is the place.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: ASU gives decent scholarships, but the cost of tuition is so extreme they need to offer more.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Great. Very high spirited school.

1 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Too much underage drinking and binge drinking. We've had a student beaten to death in an elevator and a student disappear.. Found later, dead.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Depends on the time of day. Only thing open at night is generally subway.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: From what I have heard, I do not live on campus.

College Sophomore

Computers: I do not live on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Permit costs are outrageous, ticketing and fines are almost unavoidable.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: ASU had no idea what the requirements were for maintaining an AIMS Scholarships, after many attempts I was told what they thought were the requirements. They were incorrect and I lost my scholarship. Very upset with ASU.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am not involved in greek life.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Very large city, lots to do, many college students.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: There is a great variety of students here. No matter the situation, there will always be someone to relate.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
