5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Beautiful scenery, very close to many shopping malls, weather is outstanding, many great restaurants and things to do just a short drive from campus.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The past year and a half have been the best of my life. The people were a little hard to adjust to at first but it is possible to make great friends, and the social experiences are incomparable.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I am under 21 and it is very hard to get into clubs and bars near campus. I have not felt that it is worth the risk to try to sneak into any.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The police have a strong presence that keeps many students from drinking and doing drugs. Many people use Aderrall as a study aid and alcohol is mostly used for recreational use on weekends.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Campus housing is all very new and the social atmosphere is great, the only bad thing is the high cost.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel very safe usually on campus. For the most part, I feel that you have to be doing something dumb in order to be in an unsafe situation.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Administration and local police have been really cracking down on underage alcohol consumption. Parking and minor traffic fines by the ASU police department are outrageous. Campus police are effective in making me feel safe.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is a ton of diversity on campus, and many international students.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Food options are good, but often times students end up eating the same thing many times in a week because it is the best thing available. There should be more healthy options offered. Cost is average.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: There are many professors who are very experienced and knowledgeable in psychology. Workload is average, less work than science majors, but more work than business majors. Many internships are available for ASU students.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Most of the professors at my school are great, and the curriculum is good and an appropriate pace.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: Computer labs are available all over campus, and you can almost always find an open computer when you need one. Network is mostly reliable and fast. A personal computer and printer are definitely necessary as many courses have coursework that requires online access to homework.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The Student Recreation Center is awesome! Libraries are huge and a great place to study. Pools near campus make it an incomparable social experience.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Campus life and the social setting has created the most fun times of my life. Most facilities are new. Academic programs are good and getting better.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: The cost of parking is very high and rules are strictly enforced. There is no real need to have a car on campus, as the whole campus is within walking distance, but a car is very nice to have for off-campus activities.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls at my school are above average in appearance, always up on the latest fashion trends. It's great, but many students seem very stuck up, fake, and not friendly because of it.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Getting into the program required having a competitive high school GPA and a good ACT score. I did not have any problems or complaints when applying.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I really enjoy the program I am in. We have some of the best professors in the country. Professors who are currently making new advancements in psychology but also care about their students. Workload is not bad for most classes.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: I enjoy life on campus especially where my dorm is located. I am located near the athletic center and libraries. We have several green spaces on campus which host several events weekly.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: My school offers so many programs and activities to keep you from boredom and down time. I try to stay involved in social activities and school sports to occupy my free time. I really enjoy the student body at ASU.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I rarely here of students using drugs on campus. I have seen many students involved in consumption of alcohol especially on the weekends. I have heard of several incidents involving alcohol on campus. I have not had to deal with peer pressure from other students.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: I rarely use any public transportation. The campus is very convenient and easy to get around without any need for public transportation. If public transportation is needed ASU offers several options for students.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Have not attended yet, but the application, financial aid and enrollment processes have been smooth and positive.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
