Weather: The weather at ASU is pretty bad against the heat. In the summer, the average is over 105. It doesn't start getting cool until October and that's barely between 80 degrees and 85 degrees. It starts getting warm again by February and hotter by the month. Don't be surprise if it gets over 115.

Athletics: The downtown ASU campus recently opened its new gym right next to the YMCA gym this Fall 2013. I would have to say that it is by far the best gym that I have been to. It is also joined with the YMCA and there's plenty of equipment for everyone.

Off-Campus Dining: ASU has a few Campus all around the Phoenix area. The downtown Phoenix ASU campus has a variety of restaurants outside of the campus. Most have student discounts. Just show them your student ID and you're good. It's downtown so you'll find almost anything within the area.

Scholarships: All semesters until this last semester were fine. I expected to get the same amount that I received every other semester, but there was less for some reason. This was stated, but I didn't see it until after I told them I was graduating. If I had accepted the entire amount granted I would not have had a problem.

Drug Safety: I don't know personally, but I heard someone talking at my work recently that ASU is having a lot of negative problems from drugs. (Fights and arrests).

Academics: It is an okay major. I lost interest past semester and am planning on changing it.

Academics: There are many ways to succeed here. there are many available classes as well.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Athletic facilities are great and there are many options and it is convenient. Sports are a big part of campus life.

Campus Dining: Okay food in general cafeterias. Some good fast food places make up for it.

Nightlife: ASU is known as the party school and although i just started my first year, that assumption is very true. There are tons and tons of parties throughout the week. Fraternities constantly have themed parties that people can attend if invited. Some parties are not directly on campus but they are walking distance. Transportation consist of taxis or personal drivers. There are numerous 18+ clubs around Tempe but those are a little further from campus. There is not a day where there is not a party or some sort of social gathering. People are always ready to have a good time and have some fun. Some have more fun than others but there are also awesome stories to share with other the next day.

Weather: The heat is unbearable. ONe moment you are clean and then by the time you get to class you look like you swam in a puddle of sweat. That is the only downfall about the weather here in Arizona. It hardly ever rains and when it does people get so excited. The winter time is the weather everyone looks forward too. It doesn't snow but the cold weather is a nice break from the heat. Walking to class in the cold is much more bearable than the heat.

Athletics: Arizona State University has the greatest support and spirit in its sports. We are all die hard ASU fans no matter what the sport is. There is also a lot of involvement in the intramural sports that are on campus. Students are very active and take advantage of the amazing gym and recreation center we have. Football is the main sport here. The love and out crazy student section proves how dedicated we are to our school.

Off-Campus Housing: My roommate and i have been looking for apartments for her for next year and i have noticed that there are tons near campus but the cost is beyond affordable for beginning college students. Although, the apartments are very nice and worth the cost. The convenience is great and safety is good depending on the location. There are some that are safer than others and some that have parties constantly and those that are more mellow. From the few landlords I have met they are very understanding about help about the cost.

Weather: The weather is bipolar. During the fall it gets windy and hot sometimes.

Transportation: There are plenty of options. I ride my bike and find that's the best form of transportation. It's a huge school so riding my bike gets me where I need to be quickly and closer than parking and walking when it is 100 out.

Campus Strictness: I've seen an increase on the campus that makes me feel safer and that the school is standing up for its expectations of the students.

Campus Strictness: Everything is always getting busted, the cops and security are on top of everything around here, they know everything. So if anyone is trying to party keep it on the extreme DL otherwise it WILL get caught.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The Financial Aid I was applicable for, ASU didn't accept it which is really hurting me considering I'm paying for tuition, living expenses and transportation expenses all on my own with no help of anyone else.

Off-Campus Housing: The District on Apache in Tempe is super close to everything no matter which campus you need to get to you can take the ASU shuttle for free and it picks you up down the street from the District which is super convenient.

Diversity: ASU is a very diverse school. Especially because the business school is well known, many international students flock to ASU to be a part of it. We have many different clubs that cater to the various ethnic, cultural and sexual backgrounds of the students making it easy for students to find their place at ASU.

Campus Strictness: The campus is beginning to crack down on underage drinking. They have resorted to having undercover cops bust all the tailgates at family weekend, to sitting in the student sections at football games looking for students acting too rowdy.

Nightlife: You can find a party at ASU any night of the week. Usually they are within walking distance from campus which makes it very convenient. The only problem is the police that come out to catch as many underage drinkers as possible which is a buzz kill to the end of the night.

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing is rather expensive so that is why I choose to live with my parents for the time being. However, they are all very nice and if given the opportunity at a better price I would love to live in the housing. Most offer great amenities, central location, and a great atmosphere!

5 College Junior

Facilities: The student facilities are top of the line! All the way from the classrooms, to the bathroom. Also they have a state of the art on campus fitness center that is really top of the line!

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
