Parking: Campus parking is awful. Although they have free campus bus shuttles, it is not worth the money you spend to park on campus.

Campus Housing: On-campus living is a great way to save money. It's convenient to class, you don't have to pay utilities, and if you're lucky you'll find a roommate you can stand. The only downside is having to pay for parking if you have a vehicle while living on campus. The cheapest parking is around 200 dollars and not relatively close to most dorms.

Academics: ASU offers many programs, and within each department you have a handful of professors who are outstanding. Registration is all online, honors students and athletes get first pick of the courses. The university also offers work study.

Academics: The psychology department is very helpful. They take the time to help you find labs and clubs to join. Most professors will suggest other courses that will help in future career paths. If you ask, they are always willing to help.

Weather: It's a rare for weather to affect campus life. Almost all days are sunny days on campus. Bring sunscreen.

Scholarships: Fortunately, I have never had a problem when dealing with the financial aid offices. However, it can be a real nightmare if they mess up your paperwork, which has happened to many people!

Greek Life: Non-Greeks usually think little of the greek students. Greek students typically think they are above it all and expect different treatment. Greek life is big on campus, sorority greeks have dorm wings dedicated to their chapters, while frats recently got their housing replaced with a campus tail-gating area.

Computers: Never had to use the computer labs. Almost all professors will use the online services, it is essential to have wireless connection.

Off-Campus Housing: Living off campus is great, if you can find an affordable rent. Most of the places walking/biking distance to campus are relatively pricey and have hidden fees, beware.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: It depends on where you decide to eat. The campus has multiple options of on-campus and off-campus dining. Each dining hall has a certain environment presence. For example, the honors hall caters to a more formal presence compared to the other laid back dining halls.

Overall Experience: Given the opportunity to choose again, I would definitely pick Arizona State University. The atmosphere was a great place to grow independently and make new friends. Most of the professors where great mentors and the opportunities for work study, study abroad, clubs and leaderships roles were endless.

Facilities: The campus is constantly upgrading to provide the latest facilities for their students. Recent additions include two new student recreational centers (main and downtown campuses), new bio-design structures, remodeled dorms and multiple lecture halls have been constructed.

4 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: The campus has recently shifted in the direction of improving and making a priority for entrepreneurship. The campus is also expanding and upgrading multiple college facilities.

Local Atmosphere: Tempe is a great place. Friendly people, definitely a college atmosphere. The city has a lot of events that cater to the 21+ population.

Health & Safety: Campus has tons of security check points with emergency phones, but I wouldn't walk alone at night across campus if I had to. Safety escort is available on campus.

Campus Strictness: The campus is a safe environment, they work hand in hand with the city police department. If you respect them, they respect you.

Scholarships: I have received scholarship for academics. I am happy with the scholarship to date!

Parking: Never assume parking is free. You will be ticketed and/or towed.

Campus Strictness: ASU police are pretty ridiculous at times. Though I have met reasonable officers, the majority of ASU police I have encountered are overly power hungry.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Student oriented apartments, houses, condos, townhomes, etc. There are MANY options within 10 miles or less to campus.

5 College Senior

Athletics: Athletics are huge at ASU. ASU promotes health and wellness year round.

4 College Senior

Campus Dining: There are dining spots throughout campus, with a wide range of food types. It is not difficult to grab a bite to eat in between classes.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: To be short and sweet, I LOVE ASU for all that it is.

College Senior

Campus Housing: I've only visited campus housing, not lived in it.

4 College Senior

Transportation: There are multiple free shuttles on and off campus. The city busses are useful, as well as the lightrail that is routed through the center of campus.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
