3 College Freshman

Weather: It does not affect my campus experience in either respect.

2 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The parking lot on the North side is very badly lit, this parking lot is close to Thunderbird and a busy intersection. I would suggest any student being walked out by another student or by an escort.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live with my parents so I did not receive or seek any information about off-campus housing.

College Freshman

Majors: I am a freshman so I have only taken prerequisites for my major and not began to take individual classes.

College Freshman

Majors: I have not had an opportunity to be in an internship.

College Freshman

Campus Dining: I do not live on campus and bring my own food from home.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus but have interacted with campus officials and other students in the campus housing enough for the above scores.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: It was all electronic for the most part as my advisor would not help me with financial aid, at all. She would simply say, "That is a question for financial aid, not me," which was very frustrating.

2 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The area is very spotty as the level of safety and overall atmosphere so the college is in a nice spot but if a student were to travel up two streets, it could change dramatically. The campus seems to be the attraction place for the rest of the community instead of the other way around. From my observation, there is very little to no interaction between locals and students so I have no idea about attitudes toward students.

3 College Freshman

Computers: The computer labs have helped me as I have a Mac so when certain assignments needed to be done on a PC, I was always able to access a computer.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: I love the community and programs at my campus, the social scene was an excellent transition into becoming apart of college life.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The campus was just renovated and this renovation has helped the comfort level of the campus.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I commute to campus so I usually eat at home or bring my own food. It does not affect me.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I know there is some drug activity but it does not interfere with my schooling or my friends so I do not feel their is any peer pressure or negative draw.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love the small town connections with the students along with the small campus. It makes me feel a part of a university without overwhelming me with a stereotypical college campus.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: School spirit is off the charts along with fan support! West doesn't seem to have a student population in varsity sports from the main campus but there is plenty intramural activity.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Many of the computer labs on the Tempe campus of ASU consist of only the latest Apple desktops that can run either Windows OS or the Mac OS. There are a few computer labs in the design buildings that consist of older PC Desktops that too can run both of the main operating systems.

2 College Freshman

Facilities: If you like sororities and frats then you should go here. So many people are involved in the greek life.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: There is a really nice gym on campus that is great to go to. The library is open 24 hours but besides that, everything closes so early. Starbucks closes at 5 on the weekends and 8 at night on the weekdays.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There is a street called mill avenue not too far from campus. They have some fun shops and restaurants but it can get boring when that is the only place to go.

1 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I hate it. The people are rude and stuck up. Everyone is so uptight and cares way too much about their image.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: There is a train called the light rail and it is so sketchy at night. It is also a 20 minute walk from most of the dorms. It is a main form of transportation between campuses but it is a hassle to use.

3 College Freshman

Academics: I am a theatre major and it is somewhat enjoyable. It is very difficult to get involved with the plays as a freshman though.

1 College Freshman

Academics: It is an easy school. If you want to go to a school where you can actually learn something then this school is not for you.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: If you do not drink or do drugs at a party, people will judge you for it and try to pressure you into it. There is a huge party scene.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
