Parking: Fortunately for me, my apartment includes parking so that I don't have to park in a garage or off of campus. My fees are much less, and I park right by my complex, but I have heard that the parking fees for one semester at ASU for those who don't live on campus are really expensive.

Athletics: Our school shows it's team pride and school spirit, either through attendance at games or by wearing maroon and gold (our team colors) to class. Our athletic facilities are always in use and are kept clean at all times.

Campus Housing: The campus housing at ASU is very close in proximity to class. I love living on campus because it's not as stressful, and it has been easier to make and keep relationships among classroom peers and the community.

Transportation: The shuttles are the best means of transportation. They take a little longer, but with no cost. Taxis are my transportation on the weekends and the drivers are on-call and courteous.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: The security on campus is mainly there to make sure nothing illegal is happening and to bust parties. They don't go out of their way to make students feel safe or at ease.

5 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking is outrageously expensive and enforcement is really efficient when it comes to ticketing violators. However, it is beneficial to have your car on campus have access to it. Fortunately there is a wide variety of free public transportation to get you to and from campus if you live near campus.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of fast food restaurants right off of campus. If you are willing to walk a bit, you can find plenty of sit-down restaurants that will offer a variety of foods, be it healthy, ethnic, whatever.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: ASU tries to regain it's party school ranking as frequently as it can. Yes, there are a plethora of parties near campus, but there are also phenomenal academic programs here at ASU. If you do not want to partake in the party scene, your college experience will not be hindered one bit.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: ASU continuously renovates its spaces in order to provide students with the equipment and such that they need to be successful. Our recreation center was recently doubled in size and our union was redone over the past few years as well.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Football is a huge part of being at ASU. The student section has over 10,000 seats and can be seen relatively full at all times, especially for big games. ASU is doing very well this season too, which always increases the school spirit among students.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: ASU is great at offering financial aid! I received both academic and need-based aid, enough to cover more than my cost of attending.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity on campus. However, it is not uncommon to find many groups that are homogenous in their makeup (regardless of ethnicity, economics background, or sexual orientation). It is all a matter of how involved you get, where you meet people, and who you live with.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: A lot of students drink and party, but keep it under control.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: All-You-Care-To-Eat dining halls, can get old.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Wide variety located right across from campus.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: A majority of the students are incredibly attractive.

Campus Housing: Old housing is being renovated for students.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I've never had a bad experience with either service

2 College Freshman

Academics: Most of the professors are terrible at being unbiased during class lectures. They are rude, inconsiderate and offensive.

3 College Freshman

Academics: The major is okay, and the classes are not too difficult. Do your work, and show up to class if you want a good grade. School comes first.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: There is a campus bus system to help students get around locally or around campus, but it is extremely unreliable, and takes a long time.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I have not really noticed a drug scene on campus. If there are a lot of people using drugs, they are good at hiding it.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: ASU does not have an adult looking over your shoulder all the time. You can make your own decisions, but be smart. The law is still the law and still applies to everyone.

1 College Freshman

Parking: We pay $720 for a parking permit, and yet we have to park on the third floor of the parking garage. There are no elevators which makes it really difficult when you are carrying big or heavy items from the car to the dorm.

2 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The dining halls on campus have lots of options, but the food does not taste like anything.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
