Health & Safety: Campus police constantly patrol the campus and there are emergency call boxes in several places on campus. Students can even request a police escort to their car or dorm if they have night classes and do not feel comfortable walking alone.

Overall Experience: I love ASU so much! The spirit is great! There is so much school pride here! I love the party life and the support systems made throughout your classes and dorm-ing experience.

Off-Campus Housing: It's a great option to split a four bedroom house with friends to lower the costs of rent! It's cheaper to rent farther away from the school.

Transportation: ASU is situated next to a light-rail station.
Buses run through the outskirts of campus and practically bring you anywhere (for cheap!).
There are ASU shuttles, flash forward/back/McAllister. They bring you around campus and it's convenient when your car is parked far away (ie: Lot 59) at night which are free!
Also free, are the Orbit buses. They can bring you to a lot of popular spots throughout Tempe! (Including Tempe Marketplace)
With all of this available transportation, you don't really need a car!

Guys & Girls: Students wear ASU apparel a lot. Girls sometimes dress super trashy, but it's the desert so they can get away with it. Guys can be the sweetest people or the most self-centered people you will ever meet.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Parking is very expensive the closer you are to the center of campus. Cheapest parking is Lot 59, but they force you to evacuate your car or you will get a fine game nights!

Health & Safety: Personally, I feel like the Health Service Center, although they say it's "state of the art", is not that great. Yeah, it's convenient, but I personally rather a personal doctor.
I would not suggest walking alone at night, biking maybe. I bike everywhere.
Bikes WILL get stolen if not locked up properly. Tempe campus is well-known for this.

Local Atmosphere: The Phoenix Metropolitan area is one of the largest in the country. For that reason, there's always something to do in this huge city!

4 College Freshman

Diversity: ASU is an accepting environment for race & sexual orientation! It is so diverse, it's awesome!

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: ASU has the reputation of #1 party school!

Academics: There are great professors with reasonable workload

Campus Housing: Housing is good, but quiet hours are awful.

Majors: I am beginning my senior year as a Political Science major in the spring 2014 semester. I would choose ASU again if I had to choose for this major. My plan for my graduate studies is to research the influence of politics in the criminalization of youth, of all races and ethnicities in America. Is it too late to rescue the young victims of American in-justice or ‘How it became Criminal be Young in America’?

Local Atmosphere: Beautiful scenery, very close to many shopping malls, weather is outstanding, many great restaurants and things to do just a short drive from campus.

Overall Experience: The past year and a half have been the best of my life. The people were a little hard to adjust to at first but it is possible to make great friends, and the social experiences are incomparable.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I am under 21 and it is very hard to get into clubs and bars near campus. I have not felt that it is worth the risk to try to sneak into any.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
