3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Most apartments right off campus are fit for young college kids, but if you're used to nicer amenities you will have to look further than right off campus.

Academics: Not a lot of internships available, but the department itself seems very apt to help the students. Curriculum varies from class to class as well as the workload.

1 College Sophomore

Weather: If you do not like hot weather 24/7 then do not go to ASU.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: There are a lot of hoops that need to be jumped through in order to obtain financial aid.

1 College Sophomore

Greek Life: The greek houses were demolished 2 years ago. Most of the Fraternities now live in taken over apartment complexes. Many of the ASU fraternities are already on suspension if not kicked off campus.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: We have good safety escorts and the campus is located about 5 minutes from the airport.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: We have an outstanding athletic department, both in sports and in training. We have top notch facilities for students to work out in and are currently remodeling the already amazing Sun Devil stadium

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Our University just expelled a Fraternity for a "black" party that was thrown on Martin Luther King Day.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The police make a presence when they need to, mostly just to kick homeless people out of the campus facilities though.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I'm honestly not entirely sure on how the drug scene is being I do not partake in individuals who do drugs or take any drugs myself. I've heard of few people in my major taking Ritalin to get work done which was completely unnecessary and ridiculous if you ask me. But I think we are a relatively clean campus. ASU takes drug use very seriously.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: It's either hot or very very very hot.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The dorms are the dorms. Most of time you live with people you hate or never talk to and there is always going to be the majority of annoying people. My dorms were old, I think built in the forties. Pretty sure it was basically a bunker being it was made entirely out of cement and there was what I assume a bomb shelter below the rooms. But I survived a year there and came out okay. The dorms are what you make of it.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are several restaurants, a few dozen chipotles, a canes, and many ethnic food eateries as well. I would say we aren't too shabby when it comes to food.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: ASU isn't the absolute best but it's alright. You work towards getting the information you want to know and there are a lot of professors who are very passionate about their field of work. If you want to succeed you will.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The rail is alright if it isn't crowded. Buses are usually always late so I don't rely on them. The school has shuttles but they are also usually always late.

2 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Fraternity parties are infamous for being absolutely awful, and there aren't that many clubs around the tempe/asu campus area. There is a light rail that runs until about 11pm and I can only assume that the underage nightlife is outrageous.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I absolutely love my program. Granted the design program is extremely underfunded to the point where we haven't gotten new desks to work on in the last 10-15 years but it has great potential and great people to teach us what we need to know for the field.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: They accept 40 people to get into the program after your first year, the best thing you can do is work very very very hard. I can't think of a single person who didn't get in that didn't work their very hardest.

Diversity: I would say ASU has a very diverse community, but there are several individuals who find the need to protest their religious beliefs on campus. Including putting up a pro-life display in the middle of the school year outside the building the entire campus goes for food.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The fan support of the sun devils is outrageously positive, but I do think that the special treatment given to these athletes is a little bit ridiculous.

Computers: There are labs available to use if they are not taken by a specific school such as the engineering school or the design school.

1 College Sophomore

Greek Life: The greek life at my school was so awful that they got their greek housing taken away due to all the incidents that occurred on their behalf. I personally think that was a good decision based on past and even on going events involved with fraternities.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: As long as you know the bus times or have money for a cab you are good

Local Atmosphere: Main campus is by shopping centers and mill avenue. You can also reach downtown for more things to do.

4 College Freshman

Computers: The majority of people have there own and just use the wifi. If you need a computer you can usually find them.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
