5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There is everything you can think of from parties to a ton of bars and clubs. You can always find something to do or a place to be any night of the week.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: The gym is amazing, I love it and am there a lot it makes working out more enjoyable when there are enough machines and classes to be offered

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have felt safe on campus, sometimes drunken guys come up which makes me uncomfortable but always keep your car and house locked up and you'll be fine.

5 College Student

Diversity: Students from ALL Backgrounds – There's such a massive student bodythat you'll find some of everything.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: I Don't Live on Campus – I do not live on campus, but my friends seem pleased.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academics: English/Secondary Education Major – ASU is such a crowded school. It is often hard to feel like an individual when the programs and faculty treat you like a number.

3 College Student

Campus Strictness: Strictness on Campus – ASU it's self is a pretty liberal school, they are not too harsh on those caught consuming alcohol, and most Dorm managers will turn a blind eye to use of marijuana and alcohol in the dorms. The tempe police and ASU rent a cops are a huge problem, they will write tickets for doing nothing wrong, most students have a big problem with the attitude of local police towards students

2 College Student

Local Atmosphere: Tempe is full of students, there is a shopping district next to the campus. For students there is lots of recreation space on campus, tempe also has a diverse job market. The only complaint most students have is the police force, they don't like students and are a huge problem.

3 College Student

Computers: Computers are modern, however sometimes computer labs are crowded. There are also very few printers, students should at least have their own desktop computer at home for homework.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It's nice to finally choose a path on your own. I know that I was given more opportunities at ASU than I ever would have been offered anywhere else. It's such a large school, but that only means more variety, and I'm finding that variety is a very positive thing.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Extremely popular, it seems like everyone is involved in every game

1 College Freshman

Transportation: The light rail is great for leaving campus but as for transportation on campus it sucks. Cabs are basically the best choice you have in Tempe and they aren't cheap. Walking is usually too far depending where you wanna go and not having a car is difficult.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs are everywhere and the options are endless. I personally know more people who do drugs than people who dont and I am not one of them. Its hard to find people who dont do drugs. Mostly everyone who smokes is into something else as well.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Not a Greak Member – I see girls with their sorority names on t-shirt and bag but they don't really affect the social atmosphere of the campus. Many girls that I know are in sororities but they are extremely bright and focuses most of their time in school work. I'm pretty sure there are many party scenes and other secrets I'm not aware about. But of course there are those who think they are big shots but they're usually in a small group of 3-5.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Suprisingly Very Diverse – There many international students who attend ASU and they're not just undergrads; some are grad students or post-doc. There are even professors, researchers from different countries. Even students, who are US citizens, are very diverse in ethnicity and with each they bring their own political beliefs and religion.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: What Should I Choose? The cheaper housing are very old (over 50 years old) and the newer housing are too expensive (7-8 thousand per academic year).

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: This School Is What You Make It – It can be inconsistent if you lead an inconsistent life.
And it can be a happy environment if you have a happy attitude and maybe an optimistic outlook. ASU becomes what you make of it. If want something productive out of it, cynicism is not the best answer.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Sometimes our dining hall has great food and a variety of food as well. But too many times this all depends on the way they schedule breakfast, lunch and dinner which to change every other week.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: I feel like the library is pretty useful, I found a book called the State of Arica there that was a central resource for my term paper on the history of conflict diamonds and contraband trade in Sierra Leone.

5 College Senior

Transportation: Light Rail! The new light rail makes transportation extremely easy around downtown and tempe campus's.

5 College Senior

Athletics: Go Sundevils! I can't say this school excels in every activity, but there will always be a crowd of screaming fans. ASU is known for it's post-game partying and wild spirit.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Love This Campus! The facillities are typically clean and well maintained. Many of the dorms are close to activites. It has a nice landscape with places convienent for studying or just relaxing. I love walkling through campus as it gives me a feeling of being at home.

5 College Senior

Campus Dining: GREAT Food Town – The MU has great food options from healthy to fast-food. It is usually packed but there is a TON of great dining just around the edge of campus - lots of ethnic options, cheap eats, plus chain staples so everyone will feel at home.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: Safe for Large City – ASU has campus security and offers a variety of safety and security options - but like any enormous campus in a big city, it is up to the students to take advantage of the systems in place and show some smarts...overall I would say that campus safety is comparable to any other large university, perhaps a little above average because Tempe's police department is very good.

5 College Junior

Computers: Library and Labs – The computer labs are open late and the library is open 24 hours so if you have to get a paper done you have plenty of time and quiet space to do

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
