Guys & Girls: Hot Girls Everywhere – I will see the pretty ladies in all directions at all times of day. Went above all expectations.

Off-Campus Dining: Decent Variety – There are definitely plenty of places to eat off-campus, but there are not a ton that amazing. Oregano's is always good and I enjoy going to Devil's Advocate for watching football and eating wings.

Scholarships: Easy to Get the Help I Needed – I received a scholarship when I applied to ASU and they automatically showed the grants and loans I was eligible for online in the finances section of my personal ASU page. Any time I go to the financial aid office with questions they are always helpful and eager to find ways for me to pay for school.

Campus Dining: Some Options, but Not as Diverse as They Could Be – Dining options on campus have improved over the past couple years. A sit down restaurant, Engrained, was opened upstairs at the Memorial Union. In addition to the rank and file fast food places, the dining halls offer the ordinary as well, except 1 day a week they devote to vegetarian options. There are several coffee places around campus, e squared one of the few that is local (something other than Starbucks). ASU offers M&G dollars that is applied like a debit card, they are usable anywhere on campus and even some places off campus; this is the best meal plan option as it offers the most flexibility.

Transportation: Its great! We have the light rail, we have our own student bus transportation called Orbit, we have cabs, or the public bus. The only thing is that campus parking is pretty expensive and crowded at times. Some parking lots are very far away from campus.

Nightlife: Night Life – AWESOME! There are plenty of local bars, cab companies are always lingering around for business, and night clubs are very close to campus. There is a street called Mill Ave. From Mill Ave and University moving north bound, up until about 1st Street, you have nothing but a strip of stores, small business, and bars. There's always something to do! For those who don't like to drink, activities on campus are always happening, too.

Academics: Transborder Latina/O Chicana/O Studies – Not only do you get to learn more about Latinos in America and around the world, you get to learn about their health disparities, standard of living, and how we can improve all things for them. We also learn about other minorities in America and all of our data is compared. You get to learn a lot about all races around the world that reside here in the US.

Facilities: A Lot to Do in a Small Area – From movie theaters to shopping malls to various artistic venues, in addition to a plethora of campus activities, you will hardly lack things to do during your time here on campus.

Diversity: Many Cultures Blending Together – While I can't speak for sexual orientation, I've seen many students from many different ethnic and religious backgrounds around campus. It's quite impressive how many people are brought to this campus and how everything seems to go together quite well.

Facilities: Tempe Is Prime Location for Entertainment – The ASU main campus is located in the heart of Tempe, its where all the action is at. It is unique in the sense that from the main campus, you have access to the best of what AZ has to offer (apart from the fantastic nature of the north). From Tempe, you can head down to Mill Avenue, get a few drinks, relax, and from there you can head to downtown phoenix (just 20 minutes away) to watch sports games or musical performances.

Overall Experience: Works With Every Niche – ASU offers students a chance to experiment with a very diverse amount of aspects of "the college life". It is was to find a party, easy to find a hole in the wall to study, and it is very easy to put yourself in situations to meet new people.

Transportation: Shuttles Are Convenient – Shuttles arrive every 30 minutes and are inter-campus shuttles. If you are not shuttling between the main two campuses (Tempe, and Downtown Phoenix) then you may end up waiting awhile on the bus.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drinking Is More Popular – drug scene is not often to ses, but drinking is popular, especially during weekends.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: OK but Not Diverse – It is OK if you do not eat on campus every meal. But if you often eat on campus, you will get tired of the food due to lack of options

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Very Safe – I feel very safe on campus. If some threat appears, we will receive texts from ASU alerts and keep indoors.

4 College Freshman

Computers: network speed is quick most often, but sometimes My ASU is down because it is too crowded.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Network Reliability and Speed – The network at ASU is reliable for the most part, but speed is an occasional issue. During the year, video streaming is relatively slow, and watching tv or youtube videos online is a pain because there is almost always excessive buffering.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: Free campus shuttles to take you from West to Tempe and Poly. Also free shuttles just around main campus. There's also the Orbit that goes around Tempe. And the lightrail. It's pretty great, you don't need a car to get around.

Off-Campus Dining: Fast Food Central – There's ALOT of fast food places near campus, like McDonald's and Taco Bell. About 2 miles away is Tempe Marketplace, and they have alot more places to eat. There's also a few good sushi places & a Buffalo Wild Wings near campus.

Campus Dining: Freshman 15 – There are 4 dining halls located on campus, although one is only available for Barrett honor students. The food isn't bad, but it is cafeteria food. It gets really old after a while. Sometimes the only really warm thing to eat is pizza, hence the dreaded Freshman 15. You can also take your meal plan after the dining halls have closed and do a meal exchange in one of the student stores for certain things like sandwiches, parfaits, and salads.

Local Atmosphere: Arizona State University Tempe campus is a huge area that always has some sort of event, fundraiser or party going on, no matter what day of the week or what time it is. There's also 2 huge shopping marketplaces within 5 miles of the school, as well as a mall, multiple movie theaters, and dozens of restaurants.

Drug Safety: Marijuana, while legalized for medical use, is considered a felony to possess any smokeable amount, Tempe police and Campus Police are extremely strict with marijuana use. Tempe and Phoenix have a pretty big rave scene and there really isn't an enormous presence of any other drug, other than obviously alcohol

Campus Dining: There are MANY options on and off campus that accept M&G Dollars, ASU's digital currency, also, there are multiple places on campus with different varieties of food in a buffet style that accept meal passes. There are different priced meal plans with different amounts and ratios of Meal Passes and M&G dollars

3 College Freshman

Academics: While the academics at ASU are not bad, and the staff members are mostly helpful, the administration seems not to care at all about the well-being of its students. It is not a good feeling and the reason for my transfer.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
