Athletics: Arizona State University has a top notch athletics program that has made my college experience more memorable. By attending football, basketball, baseball and softball games, it has instilled a sense of pride in me for my university. The Inferno, our student section, is full of dedicated fans who paint their faces and make signs, and who stand outside in the blistering heat to ensure a good seat for the game.

Facilities: Activities Board Keeps School Fun – ASU has an activities board that plans fun events!

Drug Safety: Haven't Seen Anything Bad Going on Here – I've seen more drinking and cigarette smoking than any other drugs. but i guess it depends on who you know and who you hang out with.

2 College Senior

Computers: Available but VERY Slow – I'm not sure what ASU is doing but they connection to even log on to the computers in any lab takes 20 minutes, its ridiculous. the space is nice, the access is to things is good, but all that does not matter when you have to wait 20 minutes just to log on to a computer to access it.

Majors: Great Options – Since the liberal studies program allows you to take a variety of courses, you can pick and choose where you want to focus. It also helps if you have a minor because, often times, you can use required courses for both. But that really depends, make sure you check with your advisor before trying to "kill two birds with one stone".

Majors: Easy as Pie – Getting into the Liberal Studies program was easy. All I had to do was declare my major. The advising has been wonderful in helping me create a program better geared towards pre-law, since there's no such thing as a pre-law major or course of study. I'd definitely recommend the Liberal Studies program if you can't narrow your area of study down to one topic such as History or Psychology. It was great.

Computers: The Computing Commons at ASU Poly are not so crowded in the mornings because it opens around 7:30 and 8:00AM, but they are around the afternoons from approximately 12:30 to 6:00PM. Most people on campus do have their own computers with WiFi.

Majors: So Far It's Okay, I Guess. I mean, I'm getting things done and it seems like I'm finally reaching a point at which I'm actually learning things, so that's good, right?

3 College Senior

Majors: Too Easy – The FMP program requires an audition/application process that's constantly stated as being "extremely difficult" to complete. My interview was too short and I didn't really have to do anything to get in. Everyone I know that applied the same time I did made it in as well.

4 College Senior

Majors: Good Courses – You learn a lot once you begin doing hands on work in film, but the courses seem to be taught to a group of children. Instructors shouldn't act like I'm five years old.

Overall Experience: Things Have Been Ok So Far – I am an ASU online transfer student. I am fairly happy with the process so far, however things took quite a while to get rolling, and now I feel under a great deal of pressure to complete all of my tasks for enrollment and financial aid before classes start.

Off-Campus Housing: I am an ASU online student and live in a completely different state.

Diversity: As an ASU online student, I cannot correctly answer this question. I am a minority, though!

Scholarships: Process Could Be a Little More Helpful – I am returning to college after a 13 year hiatus, so Financial Aid is very overwhelming to me. The amount of searches and forms to be completed is so time consuming, and as a mother, I fear that I may miss out on scholarships because I simply do not have the time to fill out 100 scholarship forms during the Summer while my kids are home from school. I would love to have had a Financial Aid counselor send me a list of pertinent scholarships, loans and grants for me to apply.

Weather: Born and Raised in Az – I love Az weather. I love the dry hot summers and cool winters. Since we don't get rain a lot I love whenever we do.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Houses/Apartments Are Nice but Pricey – The majority of houses and apartments are very nice, but can be expensive. However I liked that the neighborhood is filled with fellow students.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: I am all for people joining the Greek life, however I feel that some fraternities and sororities shun those who are not apart of the Greek life. The only time I see Greeks be openly kind to random people is during their "Rush" time.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: Very Protected – I use to live in the dorms and I appreciated that I could call "Safety Escort" to give me a ride from one side of campus to the other at night. I always feel safe.

3 College Senior

Transportation: Best to live close to campus Buses are OK bikes are better

2 College Senior

Parking: Better to ride a bike or take public transportation

Nightlife: Graduate University Lifestyle – Nightlife is relatively good here in the campus. There are parties around the university. Specifically during the weekends students between the age 18 to 25 can be found in the bar or club in the Mill Avenue. I really like the light music because it is calm and soothing. If the party is organized then there is a maximum possibility for the cab to be called to take you back to the campus. But if you are with your roommates or close friends then you don't have to worry for transportation as they may give you a ride back.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of Housing, NOT So Much Parking – Overall the housing around campus is convenient because the size of Tempe Arizona is fairly large. With that said it is an old neighborhood with narrow streets. Most landlords in the area are allow pets which is always a plus and pretty reasonable rent prices.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Party on and FEAR the FORK – ASU is an over all party school. Most parties do not get broken up because there are a ton of students. On occasion parties will be broken up and just sent home, very little students get an MIC a.k.a. minor in consumption. ASU is the ultimate school to socialize and party your pants off. There is some occasional punishment that is why ASU received an A-.

3 College Senior

Weather: Summers Are HOT! The weather doesn't really affect the campus experience. The summers in Arizona is just really hot making walking to class a little bit miserable!

4 College Senior

Computers: The computers on campus are great. There are average laptops and Apple computers. They all run very fast. Printing I believe is 10 cents a page. I personally have my own computer and printer but the computers on campus are great for emergencies.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
