1 College Freshman

Scholarships: ASU scholarships that cover tuition on its own are hard to come by unless you have an AMAZING sat score and a polished high school transcript.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: While ASU does try to cater to all of their students, Health and Safety are hard for them to be on top of all of the time because there are SO MANY STUDENTS.

5 College Freshman

Computers: Arizona State has a phenomenal technology center and overall is very good at staying on top of having the best tech possible.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I am an off campus commuter. however, i do know that the dorms are very nice and the campus overall is very well taken care of.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There is a serious mix of everyone here. You see everything from girls walking around in stilettos to people running around in bunny suits. People are generally really friendly and most are obsessed with Greek life. Drinking is one of the main interests, hands down, and pool parties!

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: It's basically average; there are plenty of people who do drugs and plenty of people that don't. You aren't really exposed to drugs or drinking on campus at all, just cigarette smoke really!

1 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: ASU is a dry campus. It is possible to get away with drinking in the dorms but if you get caught you're in huge trouble. The police here have zero tolerance for underage drinking and partying and it's a major buzzkill.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Tempe is incredibly supportive of the University and tons of places offer discounts/deals for students on campus. It's awesome in Tempe for the atmosphere. Definitely a college town, but other cities for the remaining three campuses for ASU are varied. West campus in Glendale is more family oriented, which kind of stinks. Downtown Phoenix is really urban, and right next to a local art sculpture. Mesa is low key. Really depends on the campus, but if the surrounding cities with all campuses were all like Tempe, it'd be waaay better.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Several different buses go around the campus (Flash, which goes in both clockwise and counter-clockwise) and between the four different campuses (Inter-campus shuttle) which, mind you, are in 4 different cities. And the Orbit bus line, which is a public transportation in Tempe goes around the campus and in the neighborhoods, which helps when you live off campus. The city of Tempe is also hugely bike friendly, so it's easy to get around without a car, sometimes it's even easier. There's also a late night security pick up if you need it for staying late on campus. The Campus Security is easily accessible too. The only downfall is not all campuses are like Tempe. Downtown Phoenix is small, spread out through urban city. Not so biker friendly, but easy to navigate. West Campus in Glendale is more in a 'family' neighborhood, so the bike transport is alright, city buses aren't super reliable always but they are easy to get to. Never been to the campus in Mesa, but I hear it's small.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: I do not like how our transportation is. It is very confusing and not accurate.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: they always try to enforce ridiculous things that are never going to happen, like walking your bike on campus. we have the bikes to ride them on campus. they wasted a ton of money on the campaign to stop people from riding bikes or skateboards on campus.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: ASU isn't very safe at all. there are constantly car accidents all around the campus. and there area around the campus is known as sin city because of how much crime goes on their.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Tempe has a lot to offer, if you are over 21 anyways, but the area surrounding the university isn't safe at all. you dont want to go out at night.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: ASU is a very preppy school. Most girls wear bright colors, a tank top and jeans, and a lot of summer clothes. The guys tend to dress the same. Jeans and a tee or board shorts and a tee. Its all warm weather clothing here. Most of the students are very attractive and outgoing.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There are a good amount of parties around ASU. However, there isn't much peer pressure to go to the parties.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: There is always parking available. Unfortunately, parking passes are very expensive and there is a bit of a walk to campus. There are private lots right across the street from the campus that you can park at but the daily fee adds up unless you are only staying for an hour or two a day.

College Sophomore

Scholarships: I just applied for financial aid and am still in the process so I have no opinion so far.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of restaurants around! You will never go hungry, they are cheap and easy to get to.

2 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: There are police everywhere, you can't really get away with much. The are very strict on drug use.

5 College Freshman

Weather: I love Arizona weather. I love the heat. The coldest it gets is 40 degrees in the dead of winter, late at night. I love the random rain and lack of snow.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: Awesome! Free transportation is everywhere! They have a shuttle that runs to all four campuses, every half hour, constantly running. Tempe also has a bus system that takes you around campus. Absolutely wonderful.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I'm pretty sure there is a slightly above average drug usage here , because there are so many parties. However , I honestly don't get out much. But I know there are plenty of drugs here. Nothin too harsh, though.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They enforce the rules they have very well. No smoking in the dorms. At all. No alcohol or drugs allowed in the dorms. And no rearranging the double occupancy rooms if there is one person in there.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Well, I changed from living at home to on campus, so I brought the hassle upon myself. However, one of the lady's I had to deal with was very unhelpful and clearly didn't want anyone to be there. I would recommend more walk throughs for those that aren't sure how to navigate.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid office got back to me pretty quick and is extremely helpful in finding out where you stand financialy. ASU offered me enough financial aid to help pay for the entire year (though living off campus) and this is considering that I applied late for aid as well.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
