4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The school a lot of security on campus, whether it is police officers to late night guards.

4 College Junior

Transportation: There are plenty of bus routes nearby, traffic for parking on campus could be much worse, and the light rail is very convenient-- there are 2 stops on campus, and there is a special U-pass for ASU students that is $150 for a whole year, which is a significant discount from what a student would pay buying an all-day light rail pass each day.

Campus Strictness: The fact that my campus is in Downtown Phoenix makes it hard to get away with anything. There are constantly police officers driving around the dorms, there are police officers on bikes and that walk around the campus. In the dorms there is security and you have to use your ID to get into the building and to activate the elevators. The CA's on duty in the dorms are also strict. If you get caught drinking its a write up and a meeting with the dean. If you get caught with any illegal drugs they call the police on you and search your room. The police also go inside the building and do daily rounds where they walk around the halls.

Guys & Girls: The students at ASU vary from race, size and sexual orientation. ASU is like a melting pot of diversity. I go to the downtown campus and there are a lot more older students versus younger, The boys vary from being extremely intelligent to being hippie loving men. Most of the girls are brunette and petite.

4 College Senior

Greek Life: Good if you are into the Greek Life which I was as an undergraduate but not for my LL.M. program.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: A decent amount of financial aid was given to me as an instate student

Local Atmosphere: The downtown campus is much much smaller than the tempe campus

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The gym is amazing and everyone uses it to a full extent.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: My school's nursing program is very difficult to stay it, but well worth the challenge

5 College Junior

Nightlife: If you are over 21 the bars on Mill ave are almost a good time every weekend. There are not many options for under 21 students though.

4 College Junior

Academics: WP Carey School of business is why I came to ASU because they have one of the top business programs in the nation. The professors have great knowledge of the subject they teach and a willing to pass that along to you. The workload can be a little overwhelming at times.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Printing is free, but the wireless internet does not work at times.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There have been a couple incidents such as late night thefts when walking alone at night. Just be careful when it gets dark, be alert.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The Campus police are very strict but if you keep yourself out of bad situations then it is very easy to get along with them.

3 College Junior

Academics: I'm an Accounting major at Arizona State University and I love it there. The professors and guidance counselors have been great and really care about what they are teaching. I've been able to start a networking with fellow students and even with instructors.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: ASU has a huge variety of programs and opportunities, and it keeps on getting bigger. They have all kinds of flexible jobs that can work with each students unique schedule. Hundreds of clubs and you can make your own if you cannot find one of your liking. And parties all the time everywhere. Even during finals so you can relieve your stress. They also bring in puppies from animal shelters to reduce student stress. ASU really cares for their students.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: College of Liberal Arts and Sciences have the best dorms out there. They are new, CA's have something fun planned for each semester, and other dorm CA's invite other students from different dorms to their fun events. Palo Verde dorms are the worst dorms ever! I come from a low income house and even my house looks better than those dorms. Something fun is always going on in campus from sorority to club events. We even have drag shows! That is how fun and great ASU is. No matter who you are, you will always be accepted here.

5 College Sophomore

Transportation: Public transportation here is awesome! There are buses that take you for free to other ASU campuses. We have a light-rail and buses which you pay for at a very low price of 0.85 cents per ride. And you can buy a year pass which will come at a lower price and you can use it unlimited amount of times.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The are a lot of restaurants around here but students get sick of them in less than a year. And the best restaurants are not very close to campus for example, the Olive Garden.

4 College Junior

Facilities: All the student centers and facilities are new, and if you live in the dorms they host events every week with free food and fun prizes and its very easy to meet people

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: There are many options around campus, mostly fast food. There is enough diversity within the restaurants to keep the food from getting boring.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Public transportation is great. There are two free bus routs to get around campus and there are several free routs that go through Tempe. ASU also has the Tempe hub for the valley.

5 College Junior

Parking: At west campus... I missed out on the cheaper parking permits, but the more expensive one may just be worth it. The lot is never more than half full, and I usually get the same spot every day. At the end of an aisle. Covered. And at night, well lit. I'm very satisfied.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Its always sunny, even in the winter. The weather is always bipolar. Super hot in the summer, it can get up to 115.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: If you are looking for drugs, you'll find them. Otherwise there really isn't drug or alcohol visibility at Arizona State University. There are a lot of people who smoke cigarrettes all over the main campus. But that is about it.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
