Campus Housing: Never lived in it. There are good housing and bad housing. Depends on which one you get into.

Majors: ASU is a huge schools with lots of majors. They have very good majors and I suggest looking into them. Most of the good majors are actually in the Tempe campus compared to all the other campuses from what i know

1 College Senior

Weather: It is extreamly hot most of the year and although it doesn't snow in the winter, it does get extreamly cold.

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: People are very fun and they care about their education but they also want to socialize and party non stop

Scholarships: I am a full time student who has absolutely no help from my parents but because I'm considered dependent from the government, I can no longer afford school. The financial aid office has offered zero advise or help and even told me once that "I may need to reconsider getting a degree if I can't afford it."

Campus Dining: The dining is great. There are many options in the student union but it is mostly fast food. If the variety of food in the union isn't what you crave chances are you can satisfy your craving in one of the vatiety of resuraunts in Tempe that are near by.

Academics: I just completed my first year at Arizona State University and it was amazing. I think that our academics are spectacular. ASU does have its reputation as a party school, but with 70,000 students ASU can be whatever you make it and really, that's what college is about. The school provides all of the resources and it's up to us -- the students -- to mold our experience in order to gain the best reward.
I am a theatre major so my classes aren't as academically grueling in the stereotypical sense, but I have found that professors are almost always willing to lend a helping hand as long as you speak up! Many of my professors have even taken time to meet with me outside of class and given guidance on everything from my latest paper to how to make reasonable living post graduation.
I think often times people have the idea that ASU isn't a very academically sound school because we have such a high acceptance rate. The reason we have such a high acceptance rate is that 1) we have the resources to provide for such a great number of students, 2) we don't compare students against each other, and 3) our specialized programs, colleges, and majors have extra requirements making them more difficult to get in to.
Like I said before, ASU has no shortage of resources, so students are never left completely to their own devices. Students work as tutors in writing and math to help their peers achieve academic success. We also provide academic advisors to keep students on track for graduation as well as the myASU page, which allows students to mark their progress and easily see if they've gone off-track.
College is all about what you make it, but if you're willing to work hard and be knowledgable of the resources available you'll find that ASU can open countless doors.
GO DEVILS!

Weather: Personally I love the heat but for those who aren't looking for some sun then avoid Arizona state. It stays hot here until October, but cools down nicely. It actually gets pretty cold during January and February, but then the temperatures stays nice until late spring. Another fortunate aspect is there is no bad weather here. Maybe a few dust storms throughout the year, but those are harmless. It could rain a little more though, it is a very dry state. Overall if you're looking for good weather Arizona State is the place to be.

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of restaurants around campus that are frequented by students. Mill Ave has Mellow Mushroom and RA sushi. Many places offer student discounts or punch cards.

Scholarships: Apply early for scholarships so that you won't forget to write the essay they always want. Also check out if your college has any college-specific scholarships. Find websites like this to apply for things too!

Athletics: I don't really know how to feel about the athletics scene.

Majors: I'm a Management major in the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU & I actually do think I would do it all over again. I haven't had the best academic success and looking back I would do it again the right way. This is mainly because I have realized how valuable being in the school of business is & that is not something I would want to lose.

Majors: My major is Management within the W.P. Carey School of Business and I have had an okay experience thus far. This is mainly because i've had difficulty getting past the prerequisites & required math courses. All of the classes in WPC are no cake walk, but if you put in the effort (as we're supposed to), you will learn a lot. It's a lot of work & you definitely have to commit yourself if you want perfect grades. Our career center & all of the other resources are great & people really do get internships from going to career fairs.

Transportation: Cars are great if you can afford parking passes. The bus shuttles are really convenient if you are coming from the far side of campus. The light rail is the best way to get to campus because it is fairly cheap and it passes right next to campus where you can get off and walk to class. Walking is not bad during the winter, however when it is a season other than winter, then it gets really hot to walk. Other than that transportation is available and convenient.

Off-Campus Dining: Student dine ins are good in food quality but there are no student discounts and the choices are not that healthy. Fast food restaurants are everywhere and it is easy to get sucked into buying food from there. There are healthier places to go but they are either far from campus or hard to find. Not to mention kind of expensive.

Facilities: The schools facilities vary depending on where you go. The places that are more newer will have great spot for doing homework, hang out with friends, and do almost anything you want. Public facilities are nice and are not bad. The school is very diverse and you will always find people to talk to. In all the school is great no matter where you go.

Local Atmosphere: The town is very nice, there is a lot of shopping and attractions because it is right near downtown/mill ave.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at ASU is big a lot people are doing drugs, but there's never peer pressure to do drugs if you don't want to.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: I think that the girls are just hot. We girls wearing what they want to wear. They believe they are an adult. There are a lot of Asian girls that are very shy but really great looking. So there it is!

Facilities: It is amazing. The Student Recreational Area offers a great variety of activities that involves sport, bodybuilding, etc. You would not get hungry around the campus because there will be vending machine around every corner. The MU which offers mostly the popular food chains are well-organized and the service is excellent. There are many activities that I'm sure are fun, but not yet heard of.

Academics: Being a Computer Science student in Arizona State, I would say that the workload and assignments that they give will be a big part of your education. They can be hard to impossible if you have no experience on it yet. But a lot of professors are willing to help students in their homework and sometimes make it quite enjoyable. Though I have not attended a single job seminar yet, they always feed you with the news and send you emails regarding to it if you are interested.

3 College Junior

Academics: I study at Arizona State University as a Computer Science major. There are several campuses and sadly, my major is only offered in the main campus which takes me an hour and a half to get to. But the campus is not as bad compared to the other ones. The professors are always prepared every class and offer extra help in their office hours. They assign homework that might be time consuming, but you get this feeling of accomplishment every time you finish it.

Parking: On the Tempe campus, there are many parking lots and garages that are safe and close to school. The only problem is that it is very expensive and they do not offer any type of student price. This forces students to park somewhere else due to the expensive prices.

Weather: The awesome thing about arizona is the weather is very easy to deal with. Most days are just warm which can easily be avioded by being in the shade. The weather patterns are rarely spontanesous. It rains during the monsoon season, it is cold in the winter, and warm in the summer. Weather isn't an issue.

4 College Senior

Transportation: I have only used the light rail when it comes to public transportation. I really like the like rail becuase a train comes by every fifteen minutes. That is very convient. The light rail runs from 5 am-2am on the week days thus making it so a person rarely need to worry if the light rail is running.

Arizona State is like no other university in the country. With a large, vibrant, and exciting student body that truly makes the campus unique, there is no arguing that ASU is by any means a boring place to be for the next four years of your life. As soon as you step onto ASU's campus, you will feel the immense amount of positive and exciting energy that gives you sense of belonging. Even though there are so many students around campus, you will be sure to find a niche to call your own. College is the time to find yourself and truly learn who you are as you prepare for the real world. ASU provides the perfect environment to challenge you to make "adult" decisions, and you won't always, but by the end of it all, you will mature into a dedicated individual!

Even though students will struggle with all-nighters, sports practice, parking tickets, and trying to recover from a great night, many of them couldn't ask for anything else. There will be times that you are drowning in homework and studying, but by the end of it all, you will look back and laugh. Your peers help you get through the tough times and make those social outings even more fun. ASU knows how to party hard, but when it comes to crunch time, we pull it off well. The kids here know how to have a great time, the nightlife and social settings are extremely fun, the academics are quite challenging—especially when you apply yourself and take it seriously—but most importantly, students will leave prepared for post-graduation and taking on the world. ASU is a fantastic place to meet new people and a great way to experience life in the great southwest. But don't take my word for it—come on out and experience it for yourself!
