Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Arcadia has a great close-knit community of students that makes everyone feel very welcome. It is a great University for personalized attention, with professors who are all very helpful and knowledgeable in their areas and work well with students. In addition to their dedication, most professors have the highest level of recognized achievement in their fields, so they know what they are talking about. Outside of classroom activities and involvement, there are also many study abroad opportunities, where students can meet people from all over the world.

The best way to have an amazing experience is to get involved right away. While some feel that Arcadia does not offer much in the way of partying or crazy nightlife, it has other perks, including its small community of people passionate about what they are doing. Get involved, talk to people, and you'll have a great college experience.

Guys & Girls: We have a higher rate of girls on campus versus boys. Most of the boys already have girlfriends. There are a lot of eclectic people on campus, and if they aren't then they are mostly athletes. There is a distance between the arts and the athletics.

Facilities: My school offers a variety of diverse groups and activities for students. There is always something to do on the weekends besides parties and a place for everyone to feel at home. Our commons area is a great place to hang out and get food with your friends. It is nice because it attaches to the gym and workout facilities so it is very accessible. The library is very helpful and has great hours. We have many traditions that are still upheld. Our greens area is a great place where students can have a picnic or play Frisbee.

Majors: I love my program. We are a tight knit family since we are a small school and program. All the teacher's are incredible and willing to help with whatever you need. Our program includes an internship that is very different from most since we work closely with our supervisors patients and see up close what it is like to be an Art Therapist everyday. The workload is sometimes challenging but it prepares you for the future career path.

Majors: We had to show a portfolio to a professor at the school before being admitted. I didn't face many challenges. The most important criteria was the portfolio review. Since I was a transfer my process was a lot smoother. I would suggest having a variety of pieces in your portfolio. I would stay away from cartoon pieces.

Scholarships: There is a lot of paperwork that needs to be done. Not enough time before each semester to know what aid you're receiving.
