3 College Freshman

Parking: Sometimes its hard to find parking, and the parking permits are expensive.

Parking: The permit cost is not all that bad, $60 for a full year for a commuter. I have never received a ticket or fine but without a parking permit you will be ticketed or booted. Many commuters don't even drive they take SEPTA, which is convenient to get to. Also the off campus housing is within walking distance of the school, less than a 1/4 mile. There is really no need for a car. In the morning it can be difficult to find a parking spot if you park behind Boyer. The bottom half by the creek is the only place you can find parking all the time.

Parking: you can park without a pass and never get a ticket!

3 College Junior

Parking: I don't use a car so I don't have to worry about parking. But my roommate does have a car and parking is OK. We usually find a good spot but some days/times mean more people are needing to park a vehicle in a certain area so you just have to work with that.

Students must register their cars with Public Safety, and it's $60 per year, which isn't too bad compared to other schools.  And if you lose your hangtag or if it's stolen, it's only $5 to replace it. But sometimes, students can get tickets for parking in an unauthorized space or if their permit isn't properly displayed; if students get three or more of these violations, they are subject to getting "the boot" (think Homer Simpson in the episode "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson"). To remove the boot, it's $25 (in addition to the fines you already owe). And if the boot remains on the car, you will owe an additional $15 per day, and, after three days, the car will be towed. When it comes to parking, the best bet is just to be smart about it. Make sure your hangtag is properly displayed, and make sure you're parking in the right lot.
