Campus Strictness: The campus is not really strict. As far as academic's go, there is no cheating or plagiarism tolerated. However, as far as social lives go, the rules are never enforced.

Off-Campus Housing: There are several apartment complexes right next to the school. The places have a high availability rate. As far as expenses go, it is cheaper to have a whole group of friends live together than on- campus housing.

Greek Life: Arcadia does not have Greek Life!

Greek Life: There aren't many, if any, fraternities or sororities at Arcadia. If there are any they are brand new and very exclusive. The whole Greek life isn't a main focus at Arcadia, which is something I really enjoy.

Overall Experience: Overall I love Arcadia. There were a few bumps along the way to where I started as a freshman and where I am now, but I don't think I would change them for the world. Arcadia really has some great programs and activities, the people that are on campus are really great and it's easy to get to know people. The history of the school is one reason why our school is unique, the castle is a main focus of the school and a place where some freshmen are allowed to dorm. The campus is small and it feels like a closer community. There are events every weekend, hosted by a number of different clubs and organizations.

Academics: I am currently a History major (secondary education minor) and I really enjoy the history department and the courses that I am able to take. Almost every single one of the teachers that I've had made the class enjoyable and interesting. The workload isn't that bad, mostly essays and the occasional test. Overall the History program is awesome.

Academics: The academics at Arcadia University are overall average for a college. There are some departments in which there are a few problems, not enough staff (or the staff that they have aren't the greatest), not having/giving out information to the students, and a few others. In the opposite direction there are some really great professors that care about how their students are doing and will give them the help and support that they need. The registration process is okay, when I first arrived at Arcadia I wasn't registered for classes but they were able to help me sort everything out, the process is a little unfair for anyone who isn't a senior or an honor student. The honor students are allowed to register before everyone else which isn't fair if they are freshman and the sophomores and juniors aren't allowed to register until after them. The workload is fair, although in some cases it might seem outrageous to the amount of classes some majors and minors have. Arcadia is said to be the number 1 study abroad school and they really push their students so spend at least one semester abroad. They also have a program for freshman and transfers called Preview in which they are allowed to take a class and visit a country during their spring break, it's a lot of fun and a cheap way to study abroad/travel.

Transportation: I don't really know much about the transportation at Arcadia, I have my car on campus and don't need to use any transportation that Arcadia might or might not offer. I do know that there are a few zip cars (I believe 2) but as I have my own car I don't need to use theirs.

Campus Dining: I am not a huge fan of on campus food, but it has gotten significantly better over the last year or so.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: My financial aid counselor is not the best but the department itself is very helpful. Arcadia has helped me with financial aid appeals.

2 College Senior

Nightlife: Nightlife is what you make of it here. There are not a ton of local options but our Student Programming Board does have a ton of fun programming.

3 College Senior

Weather: If the weather is bad, campus parking is almost nonexistent. But facilities is really good at making sure there is salt down if it snows. Also, the walk of pride does tend to flood a bit when there is heavy rain.

2 College Senior

Health & Safety: Glenside is a really safe neighborhood.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Our campus is gorgeous with its castle and some of the older buildings on campus. Some of our modern buildings are fantastic too such as our fairly new student center that is environmentally friendly.

2 College Senior

Parking: If you live in the on-campus upperclassmen apartments you are really about a ten minute walk off campus. If you choose to drive to campus it is really hard to find a spot in the morning and the middle of the day. It has been especially bad this year.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: There are some really good food places nearby such as Elcy's Cafe, Anne's Kitchen Table and Jasmine's Chinese restaurant.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Glenside is really pretty and has a nice feel. If the suburbs are not your thing it is really easy to get into center city from a ten minute walk to a train station and about a twenty minute train ride.

2 College Senior

Campus Strictness: They can be a little strict about certain things, but there is a strong level of fairness and reasonableness.

3 College Senior

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity of campus from financial backgrounds, to international students, and sexual orientation. Arcadia is very open to diversity and open to accommodations.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus because I receive a lot of financial aid as a resident, but I have many friends who live off campus, and they have really like their off campus housing and it is really nice from a visitors standpoint.

4 College Senior

Majors: My major is Global Media/Media Industries. Arcadia is the only college that I have found that offers something like this. It is called a MAP or Majors Abroad Program, and requires a year abroad getting more in depth training in my major in a global context. It is a really great major and my advisors have helped me take advantage of it and help me find opportunities like internships to help further my learning in this field.

4 College Senior

Majors: I love my program. I would do it all over again. I do worry about getting a job in my field, but I know that I am just as prepared if not any more so than others in the communications field and I have a step-up thanks to my unique experience.

2 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There is a large girl to guy ratio with a larger number of females. This has been changing over the past few years as more guys attend.

2 College Senior

Drug Safety: Arcadia is far from a party school. This is reflected in both the 'party atmosphere' and the guidelines. We are not a dry campus and students over 21 are allowed alcohol as long as no students are under 21 are there. This does not mean that there is not underage drinking though.

2 College Senior

Campus Housing: If you are in the upperclassman housing options such as Oak Summit Apartments or Knight Hall, they are really nice. There is lots of room and in Oak students have access to their own kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.

Grey Towers Castle
Grey Towers Castle
Grey Towers Castle Grey Towers Castle Arcadia's Grey Towers Castle is possibly the University's most unique and special building. The castle was built in the late 19th century and has been declared a historic landmark. Freshmen can dorm in the castle, and many events and activities take place there, as well.

Arcadia has a great close-knit community of students that makes everyone feel very welcome. It is a great University for personalized attention, with professors who are all very helpful and knowledgeable in their areas and work well with students. In addition to their dedication, most professors have the highest level of recognized achievement in their fields, so they know what they are talking about. Outside of classroom activities and involvement, there are also many study abroad opportunities, where students can meet people from all over the world.

The best way to have an amazing experience is to get involved right away. While some feel that Arcadia does not offer much in the way of partying or crazy nightlife, it has other perks, including its small community of people passionate about what they are doing. Get involved, talk to people, and you'll have a great college experience.
