3 College Junior

Majors: I am happy with the program for the most part. There is a heavy focus on lower order organisms which I think does not deserve the amount of coursework that is done on it. It is important, but human biology is also very important and deserves to be studied more in the required Biology classes. My concern about finding a job is that Arcadia is locally known for the quality of education students receive but outside of the tri-state area I worry that Arcadia is not known and employers and grad schools may not recognize the quality of education I received.

4 College Junior

Majors: Arcadia University offers students in the Biology program a great education. The curriculum is rigorous. Professors are experts in their fields, and are interested in student success. Research opportunities are available to all students. Experience like that is rare to be available to undergraduate students.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: All the students support all the athletes, they have a fan bus and they go to away games to cheer the team and they end up winning. Arcadia University is a family ad everyone supports each other in the best way that they can.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Public Safety is very strict with underage drinking and drug use. When caught with alcohol, you receive a class about the dangers of alcohol. When caught for drugs, you are immediately reported to police.

Off-Campus Housing: There are two apartment complexes down the street from Arcadia. They are convenient and the cost is pretty reasonable.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are not many off campus restaurants nearby Arcadia. However, when you go into the city, there are many different places to chose from that are both good quality food, and a reasonable price.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs and drinking are not extremely popular at Arcadia University.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: In my experience, the professors have been very helpful and are good at what they do. I am a math and engineering major so most of my classes are in one building. The classes are difficult but you get by. Registration in my case is simpler because my program demands certain classes, so I get priority. Same goes with certain other programs, anything else is worked out in terms of credits. The workload is heavy but doable.

Weather: Cold in the winter, warm in the spring. classes are almost never cancelled for weather. The weather is nice in the beginning of the year and it starts looking nice again in April and everyone is out on the green

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: This school does not have the biggest party scene but really it is what you make of it. My friends and I find something to do/somewhere to go on weekends. Campus tries to hold many events. Students who don't find anything else to do will be there.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: I really like my school. Campus is beautiful. The castle is in the center with green surrounding it. The new university commons is great. The green in front of that is a great hangout area especially when the weather is nice. There are also spaces to eat outside. The gym and training rooms are sufficient to student needs. There are several campus events that are popular and many students come out to and show school spirit.

2 College Sophomore

Computers: The network is terrible. The wifi hardly ever works. The computers take forever to log onto and they are always having issues. We pay a lot to go to this school, we should have internet/computers that actually works.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I have received an okay amount but for students who do not get much help from their parent like my self they do not take that into consideration and it leaves those students with a lot to cover.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: If you're not here early in the morning to get a parking spot you may not find one all day! I took mid day classes one day a week and it was the worst to find a parking spot. I would have to wait sometimes for people to leave or park somewhere that I wasn't supposed to in order to make it to class.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: More girls than guys. The guys are mainly the jocks that get scholarships to come here. Some of them are here on their own accord. Most of my classes are about 80% female 20% male.

1 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: So easy to do drugs on campus, or nearby. They are not big on drug safety it seems, and finding the is simple. There are plenty of dealers on campus.

1 College Sophomore

Diversity: Barely any diversity. This school has a handful of each race, maybe a little more, that is not white.

1 College Sophomore

Computers: SLOW SLOW SLOW!!!! There are plenty of computers, don't get me wrong. There are MAC's and Window's but the server can be so slow!! If you're on your own laptop you're better off going to McDonald's and getting the hotspot there to do work, you will get it done faster.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: This is probably one of the better campus'. This campus is as strict as a couple of the other campus's I have been to. Many campus's I can't smoke on, or have a designated area, Arcadia I don't have to worry about that. Other campus's are also assholes about where people hang out, I haven't really seen that here.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Food overall is alright. It depends on what you order. I prefer just getting a sandwich, or something that is already pre-made. The things that are made aren't the best. I've had food that was supposed to be made hot but it was luke warm, and things that were burned to a crisp, or just awful. I can deal with it though.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics program is probably one of the better things on campus. The teams are alright, and the people on it are okay. I wish there was a football team on campus, or that the school was bigger so it could be in a different division, instead of something that feels like an inter-mural division.

1 College Sophomore

Academics: The teachers are ok but it depends on who you get. Some teachers are amazing! You can understand them, they know what they are teaching, and make things fun. On the other hand there are teachers who are horrible. Those teachers love to confuse you more than they actually teach you. Their grading makes no sense and they contradict themselves in class, or try to make their mistakes look like they were doing it on purpose.

1 College Junior

Nightlife: Arcadia is a place where a very small few stand out for being one or many of the following: Intelligent, interesting, strange, crazy, creepy, not white.

Everyone else is so powerfully boring you'll wonder how you ended up at Grade 13 instead of college.

1 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: It's nearish to Philly, which is good. Elcy's is good. The Pizza Box is good. That's it. There's really nothing else going on around town. Glenside's pretty boring, but you might like it that way. And, if you don't, it has a train station.

Guys & Girls: The first school I went to was like the school where all the kids anyone had ever feared would bomb the school went. Arcadia was like the school that all the kids no one even slightly cared about went. And I'm not talking their parents - these people had exceedingly boring parents and they grew up to be exceedingly boring human beings and they will pair off and breed more exceedingly boring human beings. You can't walk five feet without seeing a polo shirt. Everyone has the same hair cut. You will have the same conversation every day. You can recognize Arcadia students around town by their dress and look, because they essentially all look like the same very boring person.

Grey Towers Castle
Grey Towers Castle
Grey Towers Castle Grey Towers Castle Arcadia's Grey Towers Castle is possibly the University's most unique and special building. The castle was built in the late 19th century and has been declared a historic landmark. Freshmen can dorm in the castle, and many events and activities take place there, as well.

Arcadia has a great close-knit community of students that makes everyone feel very welcome. It is a great University for personalized attention, with professors who are all very helpful and knowledgeable in their areas and work well with students. In addition to their dedication, most professors have the highest level of recognized achievement in their fields, so they know what they are talking about. Outside of classroom activities and involvement, there are also many study abroad opportunities, where students can meet people from all over the world.

The best way to have an amazing experience is to get involved right away. While some feel that Arcadia does not offer much in the way of partying or crazy nightlife, it has other perks, including its small community of people passionate about what they are doing. Get involved, talk to people, and you'll have a great college experience.
