Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition rate here is very reasonable. In fact, I even transfered here because the rates are so low but the education is still great!

Overall Experience: New Student – This is my first semester at ACC and i love it so far. The campus is not huge and the class sizes are very small which makes getting help from the teacher easier.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: The Auto Tech. program that I am enrolled in is very helpful. I feel I can apply what I learn right away.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The size of the school is nice and not overwhelming. I like how everything is easily accessible.

Online Courses: Colorado History on-Line – I was not pleased with the instructor in this class. She did not ask clear questions on the quizzes and it took her forever to grade things. I got a 4.0 in the class, but would not reccomend it to anyone.

Campus Resources: Spring International – Arapahoe Community College hosts the Spring International Program that teaches English as a second language to students. I was very involved with this as a conversation partner helping students to be able to speak well in English. I learned alot about other cultures by doing this.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Pretty Flexible – Online courses offer some scheduling flexibility. I would like more English and design courses available at night and during the summer.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Cost Effective Education – ACC offers a cost effective education when compared to local private schools.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Reasonable Cost – ACC is more affordable than other schools with comparable programs. Private schools cost 10x's as much. It's a great place to go for kids who are not sure what they want to do or for adults who are changing careers.

Campus Resources: ACC Gym, Campus, Etc – The food is only ok. The buildings are quite nice. The main building is a rare example of French Brutalism which some people think looks like a prison, but I think it's GORGEOUS. Very nice grounds. Great art and design center which compares extremely favorably to nearby private schools costing 10 times as much. Gym is a great deal ($30 a semester) and it's alright. It's a little funky, but has most of what I need. They have really fun events around halloween and a great waterpark party for $3 in summer. I love PTK, the honor society. It and it's leader, Dr. Hastert are great! We have great events and do wonderful things in PTK.

Student Body: Some People – There are many highschool students attending ACC but there is a good chunk of people who work full-time have families, We talk a little bit during school but i like to keep my head in the game until i win.

Online Courses: Worry Wart – I know I was worried about taking online classes and me being able to keep up with the deadline, but everything worked out well i feel the teaschers should go back and make sure they know what they are teaching other than that i almost enjoy it more.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Works for Me – The network works well for haveing so many on one server at a time, but it works well when I need it and there has never really been an issue with me.

Career Services: Post-Grad Assistance. I haven't gotten to the point in my education where I get to benefit from this service, but I've heard great things about the career placement and/or internship opportunities and services offered at Arapahoe Community College. I'm looking forward to reaching the stage of my education where I can find out what opportunities will be available to me.

Academic Flexibility: I'm returning to the college scene after being out almost a decade. I was very scared going back into it. Arapahoe Community College has helped me ease back into the swing of things. My first semester, I bit off a little more than I could chew, but my adviser was extremely helpful in walking me through my options. I ended up dropping one class and it was very simple to do. I'm more excited now, than ever, at finishing what I started so long ago and FINALLY getting my degree. This college has made that possible.

Campus Resources: Singled Out – Arapahoe Community College is the only educational establishment in CO that offers a mortuary curriculum. In addition, they require an application to their mortuary program which helps to weed out individuals who aren't serious about going into that career field.

Tuition & Financial Aid: What Aid? Prior to this semester, I have worked full-time, and therefore have not needed aid. However, I lost my job a couple of months ago, and had to find employment elsewhere--therefore taking a significant pay cut. I applied for aid, and was denied, because I made too much money last year.
As I explained to the counselor... yes, I was making a lot money last year, which is why I didn't apply for aid LAST YEAR. Unfortunately, such is not the case this year, which is why I am applying for aid THIS YEAR. She told me I can apply for an appeal, but not until next month, so the situation is ultimately very frustrating--especially consdering the fact that after 50 credits here, I am a 4.0 student.

Overall Experience: Great Education, Affordable Tuition. I began attending ACC mostly because I had to--not because I wanted to. After my fourth semester there, I can honestly say that I choose to go to this school... and it's because of the superior education I am recieving. For many people, attending a community college implies that you are recieving an inferior education, but in my experience, this is not the case whatsoever. All of the classs I've completed at ACC are Guaranteed Transfer Courses, and my professors are extremely knowledgeable--not to mention personable. Through the four semesters I've completed at ACC, I've had almost a dozen different instructors--all of whom know my name, and my face, and are willing to write me recommendations, meet with me to go over homework, or assist me with writing assignments.
While I love the education I am receiving from ACC, I don't attend any of their social events, so I have no comments as to that side of campus life.
Overall, though, I really enjoy my time at this school.
