3 College Junior

Campus Resources: It's a great community college but I think it's pretty average as far as schools go

Academic Flexibility: Arapahoe Community College has a wide variety of times that fit with my work schedule.

Academic Experience: Interior Design and Creative Writing – Interior Design and Creative Writing programs at ACC are quite good. Our Int Design program has marketing issues and many evening classes are canceled at the last minute for lack of enrollment- when all the other design programs in the area are full up. Our program is led by three really great women and we do have some very good, organized, smart, open, fair and compassionate teachers- very good, along with some mixed bags and a couple duds. Overall, it's worth it though. The CAD dept. is led by 2 rather icky people (one is a bitter, snarky, b*tchy, tired man and the other is his very creepy, passive aggressive assistant) and in Int Design we have to take CAD. The are, however good and nice teachers within the program.
The Creative writing dept is fantastic here. Teachers are very involved with students. It's been so great. I am writing again and am very pleased with all the events and things that are happening around, within, and because of this dept.

Academic Experience: Creative Writing – Amazing place to get an education in Creative Writing. Affordable, GREAT teachers (Dr. Winograd is excellent) and lots of opportunities for scholarships, public readings and recognition! I didn't know this sort of thing existed at a community college

Online Courses: The online courses are set up so that a student must actively participate in group discussion, read other posts, and respond to others post to their own essays. I find it difficult to find time to get online often enough to make the required discussions with my online courses; however, the requirement does force me to stay focussed on school and continue to make efforts towards striving for better grades.

3 College Senior

Career Services: I have yet to graduate and am already a working professional. I have heard through online channels provided by my school that there are a number of opportunities available for post graduate students.

2 College Senior

Student Body: Unfortunately, because I only participate in online studies I have less of an opportunity to converse with what is likely to be a large academic and diverse community. Though my classes do encourage discussion, I find I am disconnected from the larger picture and thus unable to experience the 'college experience' I had longed for. The 'experience' that allows for further discussion regarding political debates, religious dogmas, philosophies, or economic strife.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: It is a lot of work and it is difficult, buti get it done.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Some classes are very high and I get A's . Other classes are more difficult to get higher grades which brings my overall grades down.

Academic Flexibility: For me my experience at ACC has been very convenient and hassle free. My questions were answered quickly and when i need help with financial aid information and completion they got me on the right track and were a really big help being that this is my first semester.Another great thing about ACC is that they have a very large selection of guranteed transfer credit classes which is helpful for those who may want to transfer later.

Online Courses: The experience that I have had with online classes at ACC could be described as very hassle free.It is my first semester and I was nervous about the online experience, but my teachers were very attentive and helpful when it came to covering material and answering questions.Even though we were only connected in a virtual setting my professors were kind and thoughtful and made it feel like there was a real student-teacher relationship and they did not make it seem that you were forgotten amoungst the many other online students attending the class.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think you definitely are getting what you are paying for, the teachers are pretty good so far, and the tuition and financial aid really help bring down the price

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There are many resources there to help the students be successful, and help the higher education process go smoother.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition here isn't bad. The teacher's need to get paid too :)

2 College Sophomore

Online Courses: With the online classes I felt that there could have been a lot more structure as far as the coursework that was going to be gone over for that class. With my teacher, I had a hard time getting feedback particularly from him because he wanted us to try to help each other out. The experience could have been better.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: The school population is pretty mixed. On one side, there are a lot of kids that don't seem to care much for school, just going because they think they have to. On the other hand, there are a lot of really motivated people. These people may have not finished high school and ended up getting GEDs, but after being out in the real world they see how badly they need these degrees. Because of this, they are some of the hardest working people I've met and have been quite impressed by this.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I believe the rigor and quality of all the courses at ACC is equivalent to most other schools. The courses are just as challenging. The only difference is they are much more affordable. I like the math and science teachers so far. They really seem to know what they're doing. I'm not to big of a fan of my English teacher, but I haven't met one yet that I have liked. So I guess I'm just biased.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I'm majoring in petroleum engineering. ACC has your basic physics and calculus classes. However, I plan on transferring to Colorado School of Mines, and they don't seem to appreciate the basics. By this I mean they want all of the classes to be specified as "engineering physics" or calculus. Overall though, the classes offer the same rigor and education as most other schools and is very beneficial.

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: I believe ACC has been very convenient. As a community college, the classes are obviously much more affordable. They are also widely accepted by most colleges via the GT program. However, Colorado School of Mines has presented issues with this, but if you save ALL or your coursework it should be fine.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The library resources online are excellent, but in person, I don't really know.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: Actually, it has been reasonable and rather self explanitory.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid office is well organized, but students need to make sure that they start the process as early as possible.

1 College Junior

Campus Resources: the computer wireless network is very slow and sometimes is difficult to stay connected to.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I wish they had sunday classes or saturday evening. I work full time and i am a mom so sometimes finding time to go to school is very hard.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I enjoy this school very much. Very easy online class outline as well. I love my teachers and hope to achieve a lot here.
