4 College Freshman

Facilities: We have the best professors who want their students to do their best. They are very encouraging. The type of people that attend Aquinas are amazing too. The environment of the school and its campus is unique.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: We have a great athletic facility that many students use. I love our library, it has great places to study whether you want noise or none at all. Campus events are going on also everyday. Our campus is beautiful and there are alot of places that are perfect for laying out and enjoying the weather.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Alcohol use is limited to those 21 and over. Those caught with alcohol will be punished somehow, not too strictly though. Any use of marijuana is usually very strict, if caught of course.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There are definitely a lot more girls than guys. But the guys are usually really athletic.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I don't notice much drugs, but if there is any use it is very minimal and not noticeable.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: Though our school is a Catholic College, only half the students there are actually Catholic. One of Aquinas's strongest points are in how diverse the campus is.

4 College Freshman

Academics: It may be because I have not yet adjusted to my College, but I feel the academics are very good. The tProfessors expect the best from you, but are still willing to work with you.

Transportation: Aquinas College is a small campus. I also never leave campus, so I never really use transportation unless I need a friend to drive me home.

Transportation: The public transportation is good around Aquinas because you are right in Grand Rapids. The city of Grand Rapids has a lot of buses traveling around AQ and there are several bus stops located right off campus. It is also pretty cheap to keep a car on campus. It only costs $50 for a parking pass for the year and that is cheaper than most other colleges. It is nice to be right in GR too because you are right near east town, downtown, a mall and lots more. It is easy to get to do what you want in GR.

Drug Safety: Aquinas is a dry campus and is mostly smoke free. If there is alcohol use it is commonly used at off-campus parties on in the on-capus apartments. There is little to no drug use. While there is always peer pressure, those who are invovled don't force it on anybody.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: There are buses that are frequently in the area, but you have to figure out the bus schedule because there are usually many stops. Also, they stop running in certain areas after a certain time.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Aquinas' campus is always very beautiful, not matter what the season is. There are various spots to eat/hang-out outside when the the weather is permitting. A common place to hang-out is The Moose, which is the on-campus cafe. The campus has character seeing as some of the buildings are quite old, but the library is veyr nice and set-up wonderfully.

Diversity: While Aquinas is very accepting there is not much diversity besides sexual orienatation. Seeing as the schools tuition is on the higher side most students come from a similar economic background and the majority of the students are white. It is a catholic school, but that does not mean everyone is catholic, the school contains students with a variety of religious beliefs.

Off-Campus Housing: Aquinas is located in East Grand, which is a lovely place to live. The off-campus apartments are not within walking distance but it is only a few minute drive. The houses that surround Aquinas are full of character and are much cheaper than paying room and board on campus. Although, you do have to park along the streets because in most cases you share a driveway.

3 College Freshman

Parking: The parking fee is only $40 for the year, but they do give out tickets quite often so it is best to make sure you are in a proper parking spot. When it is bad weather the parking lots tend to fill up quickly, because their are less people walking to school and you may end up parking down the street. If you live on campus there is no need for a car becasue the campus is small but beautiful.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Seeing as we are in Michigan, it snows a lot during the winter. We don't have to walk too far to classes, but being a commuter, the worse the weather means more people driving so it is quite hard to find a spot and you end up parking far away.

Campus Dining: Its like Russian Roulette. Sometimes you get good food and sometimes you get sucky food

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: its okay, not many options, and your screwed on the weekends when it comes to late night food on campus

Drug Safety: meh, theres no "peer pressure" i mean, theres ALOT of nerds here, but they are balanced out by the drinkers and partiers

Overall Experience: Just a bunch of random advice/commentary:
I am currently a freshman-almost sophomore at AQ. Overall, I can say my experience has been good. The people here are nice and very friendly, you can usually get into some pretty good parties if you know the right people, but steer clear of the Hockey House (just trust me, it will be a benefit to your health). :3
I gotta say that being here has made me really stop to think why i fell in love with AQ in the first place...I toured here and this was my first choice college, and i was so hyped to go, but i am having a hard time wanting to stay, just because I dont feel challenged. Honestly, I can say that academically it is extremely easy, and i am taking 17 credit hours this semester (max you can take is 18). I never really feel challenged by my schoolwork, a disappointment considering how much tuition is to go here, even if you are in-state like I was.
I advise Incoming freshman to get involved in CYBIAC-a huge and very fulfilling and fun campus retreat-just do it, you'll have a blast! I met 60-75% of my friends on campus by doing CYBIAC.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drug Safety is very good. Our campus is smoke free, and the designated smoking areas are used by smokers. They do a good job of only smoking in those areas.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There is always a place to go to nearby no matter what the food craving is! The places are also very affordable!

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus wherever I am. I know that the campus safety is only a call away if they are needed. Although they do their job right, they are often slow at times.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: restaurants are great. there is chez olga that is good

4 College Freshman

Academics: I'm a Community Leadership major and Aquinas has an excellent program. The programs has many opportunities that allow students to work directly with nonprofits throughout the Grand Rapids area, allowing for hands on learning and great networking opportunities.
