3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There are not many places to go if you are under-age besides friend's houses or parties. Beepers are like student taxis that can take you there which is pretty helpful.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I have enjoyed most of my classes even if they have been required for general education only. The workload can really vary depending on your class and professor. I like studying in my room but there are so many other places to go as well.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: People are generally very accepting here. I wouldn't say it is a very racially diverse campus though.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The nursing program is competitive but once you get in, the smaller class size makes it more valuable.Clinical locations are sometimes a bit far so it would be in your best interest to have a car. Compared to the first two years of college, the nursing curriculum requires a lot more studying.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: There are a lot of computers to use but having your own makes it a lot more convenient. The wireless internet can sometimes be slow. As for printing, I use the library's because it is a lot cheaper than buying your own with ink!

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: It isn't a huge part but a lot of people do like to go off campus to nearby parties. You don't see it much on campus because of the strict enforcement.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are so many apartment complexes for students with bus access. It is usually cheaper than living in a dorm and offers you more freedom.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: It is great to have free access to the bus as well as Saferide on campus. They are pretty convenient!

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I love being close to campus although a lot of bus routes access nearby housing. It can be expensive compared to some off campus housing but you can't beat the location! As for dorm quality, it really depends on the age of the building and if it was renovated.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: There is a lot to do if you love outdoor activities and hiking. If you like thrift stores and local shops than it is great too.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It can seem complicated at first but they are so willing to help!

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I've never felt unsafe but I have received some e-mails regarding crime on campus. It is shocking sometimes because it is such a safe place!

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The environment is beautiful and I love being able to get in the car and be on the Blue Ridge Parkway in minutes! The people here are so nice and I am happy I chose this school or else I would have never made such good friends!

5 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: There are so many ways for you to get involved as well as programs constantly going on that appeal to all different kinds of interests.

3 Recent Alumnus

Weather: Be prepared for cold weather and snow in the spring. Being born up north, it was nothing to adjust to! If you are from a southern city, mountain weather can take some getting used to.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: It could do with some more options.

4 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: It's a small population of campus, but they are extremely focused on service and philanthropy.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: They really can rip you off. Rental companies know it's in high demand and overcharge. Be careful who you rent from!

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Strictness: All rules set in place keep you safe.

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: I am very happy with the support my program has given me since recently switching into it. The communications program is very active with the students.

5 Recent Alumnus

Majors: It was easy! I would know...I have switched my major three times and this is the best department to work with.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: The financial aid situation is pretty decent, I got good scholarships.

2 College Junior

Weather: The weather can be really good sometimes, but the winter months suck.

4 College Junior

Academics: I transferred universities, because of the academics.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: It is a decent nightlife, but there's not a whole lot going on.
