4 College Freshman

Weather: Well just recently we had a giant snow storm and it greatly affected the community around us, but as a campus it didn't really affect much. We had some classes canceled due to the professors not being able to get out of their houses but other wise we had class. When it gets warmer, everyone likes to hang out together.

Nightlife: On a school night everyone is pretty chill and usually doing homework. Sometimes you'll hear girls laughing hysterically and just having fun. Most people are asleep by midnight because of the long, hard days. On weekends is where all the excitement happens. Depending on the night many girls have sleepovers in their rooms and stay up talking, other times we have a nerf wars, pillow fights, and whatever else we can think of .

Majors: ABC offers a very limited number of programs. If you are going to attend this school then it has to fit just right with what you want, because there are not very many options otherwise. I will say, however, that the programs they do have are very in depth and well covered. Well taught and they will not leave you lacking very much when you go out to get a career.

3 College Senior

Facilities: Most of the facilities are nice, however some are pretty old and are in dire need of upgrading and remodeling (which the school is slowly working on). Some of the newer buildings are very nice and state of the art. The buildings we have are used over and over for many different classes and activities, so you will not have to walk or ride very far or often.

Drug Safety: Being that this is a Bible College and that the faculty is very very strict on such matters. There have only been a handful of instances involving drugs in the past 60+ years. We focus on constructive fun and activities that grow us as friends and people.

3 College Senior

Computers: The resources to students who do not have their own tech are great, however being a smaller school the bandwidth is not that great at certain times of the day when everyone is on the internet at once.

Weather: The Mountain weather and air are usually very crisp and refreshing, however the hard winters and rainy fall months take some of this beauty away. Classes are never cancelled, not even for minor holidays.

Nightlife: The students at ABC are usually there to study and prepare for ministry and are not concerned with going to the limited clubs in Beckley. Churches, married students, and dorm rooms offer plenty of time for students to interact with each other aside from class time and being near the New River Gorge offers students outdoor recreation opportunities as well.

Majors: Hard Work – There is a lot of hard work to complete for a major but it is very much worth it in the end. I will be very prepared for my future ministry.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Good Stuff – Everything at ABC is always kept up to date and I have no complaints.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greeks Don't Exist Here – There is no Greek Life here at ABC. We all have many different events to go to and no group is singled out.

Scholarships: Easy Process, Hard to Get Aid – Being a small school, there is not much financial aid to be had from the school itself. However, the financial aid office is very friendly and easy to work with. They really do want to help you, they just don't have the funds to help everyone. I have never had any of my paperwork get lost, and so far, I have been able to maintain what scholarships I have earned. Outside scholarships are very welcome at ABC.

Overall Experience: A Great School, but Not for Everyone – Be warned, attending class is very important at this school, if you skip class to many times, you will automatically fail that class. Also, if you despise paper writing, you might want to reconsider, we write a lot of them. Now enough of the negatives. One thing I love about ABC is the emphasis on serving. This college really does make it a priority to develop a servant's heart in all of its students. If you detest the idea of making sacrifices for others, or are repulsed by the idea of helping others, than this college would probably be a rough school for you. I mean, come on, the school motto is "Because Life is for Service". Another thing I love about ABC is the small student body. If considering going to a Bible college, I highly recommend Appalachian Bible College. ABC is a great place to study the Bible, and be trained for full time ministry at the same time.

Campus Dining: Great, but Show up on Time – While some complain about the food here, it really isn't all that bad. We get a big selection of food at pretty much every meal, and you can eat as much as you want, without it affecting your school bill. However, you are stuck with a scheduled meal time, so unless you plan on skipping that meal completely, or getting your own food, you had better show up to the meal on time.

Off-Campus Dining: The Hype of Beckley – There is just about any restaurant here that you can imagine. All are pretty much within walking distance as well. Very convenient, and very good!

Campus Strictness: Reasonably Strict – There are many rules & guidelines at ABC but they are reasonable and reasonably enforced. The deans are very approachable and have changed rules lately that no longer served a purpose. If you break a rule, you probably will get written up and depending on the number & degree of the offenses, speak to the dean. Few students are suspended or expelled who cannot seem to live with the restrictions. If you are willing to attend to this school and abide by their rules, you will find that they really are quite bearable.

Drug Safety: Little to None – A few students sneak alcohol or cigarettes but they were not visible to me the whole time I was there.

Guys & Girls: Students are from all over the country & world & are pretty varied on how conservative/fundamental they are

Scholarships: Finanical Aid – Because my parents make too much, we can't get any help. It's still a struggle to pay for school though

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: At midnight everyone in the dorm comes together to do devotions together.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The teachers at Appalachian Bible College are masters in their fields of studies and are readily available for extra assistance if need be.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: My experience at ABC has been excellent. The faculty are qualified and caring individuals. We students matter to them and they poor their lives into us. The standards here make student misbehavior minimal. The campus is safe, secure, and fun.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The food and dining at Appalachian Bible College are typical college cafeteria options. In the surrounding areas; however, there are many different dining options.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The academic curriculum at Appalachian Bible College is, in a word, focused. The objective of the school is to provide a Bible education to men and women who will pursue a career in Christian ministry after college. The courses are designed to meet this objective. Classes are small and professors are qualified and approachable.

3 College Senior

Transportation: The school is just minutes off interstate 77 towards Charleston. Most get to the school by car. There was a busing system that rain through the area but no longer does, or at least it is not a main mode of transportation. The closes airport is around an hour away.
