5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Drugs are not allowed, drinking is frowned upon and I have yet to see any fights break out. As long as people treat one another with respect and courtesy everyone is fine

5 College Junior

Academics: You simply cannot go wrong with the academics at this school. No matter what concerns you have; be it the professors to how to get things accomplished...the answers and assistance is there for you.

College Junior

Campus Dining: No on campus dining facilities

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: If you get freaked out about something, there is someone ALWAYS available to calm your worries. Other students are easy to talk with, and will even sit down and study with you...even if your major is different from theirs. Classes are easy to find. Professors are fantastic, and easy to talk with.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: No matter your cuisine desires it is a good bet you'll find it in Yellow Springs, Ohio..or very close by

5 College Junior

Diversity: The diversity covers pretty much the entire gamut, and it is quite refreshing!

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: You need help there it is!

3 College Junior

Transportation: If you don't live in Yellow Springs you need a car to get around.

College Junior

Athletics: No athletics....it's a small liberal arts college.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I fell in love with the town the very first time I went there. Would LOVE to live in Yellow Springs, Ohio!

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Small town, always a place to live.

College Junior

Campus Housing: There is no campus housing.

3 College Junior

Weather: When the snows fly, or ice is everywhere...the campus is shut down for the safety of the students. You're told on the campus website, and via student email, if there is a problem and to not come in that day.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: I haven't seen a drug problem on the campus

College Junior

Computers: I haven't seen where needing a computer is necessary. People seem to have their own.

5 College Junior

Academics: You can ask any questions of the faculty, or your professors, and you are always greeted with a smile and a willingness to sit and discuss it for as long as it takes to get to an answer.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Everyone is open, friendly....and will go out of their way to stop and chat...see if you're alright, if there is anything they can do to help if you need some, etc.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: When the financial aid department learned I had been laid off, was widowed and had no savings they bent over backwards to try and get me financial aid as fast as possible. They were eager to find me what I needed, and never once got upset when things hit the usual snags. They found the answers and even worked on helping me when they were supposed to be on vacation.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: As I have pointed out, the campus is located in a small town where affordable housing can be found. A student just has to do a small amount of legwork to locate their special spot.

3 College Junior

Athletics: There is an exercise room, and a gym. But this is a liberal arts college with no emphasis on athletics.

3 College Junior

Computers: I haven't really asked about computer labs, or networking but I have noticed a great many students will bring in their laptops or pads...and easily connect in to the school wifi. No one is upset if you bring in your own technology.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: The culture in the town is so diverse you can find just about any kind of food you may think of. They cater to vegetarians, which is especially important to me. Cost is average, and their discounts are quite welcome. As to the best places...you just have to take a stroll and follow your nose! I have yet to find a dining disappointment in this town!

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The guidelines are really basic common sense with emphasis on respect for those around you. Although if you suddenly want to run down the hallways or do a handstand for no particular reason, no one is going to get upset with you.

3 College Junior

Weather: Since the campus is located in a small town there are, naturally, times when the roads are going to be not safe to travel on. But the campus administrators have plans in place for bad weather, and WILL close the campus down for the safety of their students...even sending out warnings and alerts on their website. But if the roads are safe to travel on, and there aren't any warnings...class continues.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Like I said, it's located in Yellow Springs Ohio...where culture of all origins can be found at any given moment. Music, arts, foods, street festivals abound. There is an historical Indian center/wildlife center located in the woods along the many bike paths...you can also find hiking available. People look out for one another and I have only heard of one incident in the three years I've lived nearby. Residents were equally shocked but quickly came together to help anyone affected by it. Residents also are quite welcoming towards the Antioch students and embrace their presence. You'd love it here!
