Online Courses: I took psychology and economics online and they were both great! I learned a lot that I didn't already know and I definitely plan to take online courses again. My teachers were very helpful and involved, they made sure the students did well in order to pass their class.

Campus Resources: Our campus has a great gym and workout facility, they are always very clean. Our school offers a tremendous amount of activities that keep us the students engaged and everything ties in with furthering our education in some way which is always great! Our student center is very nice; it is kept clean and up to date on all of the things we need.

Campus Resources: The computers run very well! I have only ever experienced one problem when it came to doing work on the computer, printing, or copying documents. Once in my psychology class (online course), I was unable to turn my homework in because there was a server glitch. My teacher fully understood and extended our deadline by one day. Overall everything runs quite efficiently, I never have problems printing or copying documents or evening using the computer and the schools website.

Online Courses: I didn't think that I would do well with an online course, but I was pleasantly surprised. They do ask a lot of you as far as participation. You must be savvy with the computer. If you can't do basic troubleshooting then you should definitely go to the campus for a class. The online option was great because I didn't have to worry about daycare.

Campus Resources: Not a lot of useful degree options unless you are taking classes to transfer to a University. The local universities in the area don't have a ton of options either if you are looking for a Bachelors Degree. If you want a career where you can at least hope to be able to pay off your student loans some day, you will probably have to start here and then move to LA for a degree that will actually get you a decent job.

Campus Resources: The only issue I had was when I was doing my placement testing, the network went down and I had to wait. luckily they fixed the problem and I had enough time to test before I had to pick up my son from daycare.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid office uploads FAFSA information every 2 weeks on Wednesdays in the afternoon. It is frustrating waiting to see if you can even attend school due to costs when everything else is done.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The facilities are nice. The school looks very clean and welcoming. I am directionally challenged and I have had no problems finding anything.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Some very good teachers, but nearly impossible to get certain classes.

Student Body: Im not too familiar with the student government body, I do know the students population is a very diverse one.

Student Body: While my campus Antelope Valley College has seemingly nothing going on in terms of student body activities or pride in itself, I can however say that AVC is a very diverse campus filled with all sort of different types of races and ethnic identities. So much so that I can describe AVC as a very ethnic college, and of not only one ethnicity but of several. As I do wish our school had more school pride or more of a unified student body, I can say that the only reason I give AVC a B- and not a grade lower than a C, is for our resilience as a lower income school. If AVC's identity taught me anything its resilience and strength through ethnic identities, no matter how spread out.

Campus Resources: The campus resources at Antelope Valley College are actually pretty good. There are student workers who mainly work in these resource centers, and they are very helpful. Computers in the computer labs are all pretty modern and "high speed", with the exception of two computer rooms. Besides that, printing is easy and accessible for any one. While I do wish however that there were free wifi in the library to do my homework and essays while using reserve text books. We do have wifi in our most modern Health and Sciences building, I only wonder why the rest of the campus does not have this wifi, and why its not free in the library.

Online Courses: While I have only taken one online course at Antelope Valley College, I should first say that my answer does not necessarily speak for all other online courses at my school. However, that does not take away from my terrible experience in an online Biology class. My guess was that it was a hybrid class, basically I got emailed a ton of powerpoints on chapters upon chapters of complex biology. The class would meet only five times during the semester to be tested on whatever it was we were supposed to be studying. I regret taking the class, also as I think back I had no idea the class was an online class when I first registered for it.

Academic Flexibility: As of yet have I had difficulty transferring units, this is mainly because I haven't been to any other college. From what I understand, AVC's catalog of classes shows if their classes are CSU or UC transferable. The reason I give AVC an A- however is because they lack upper level classes such as more Calculus, upper English classes. While when looking at their list of available classes, theres a great many lower division classes. I suppose this speaks to the academic needs of the community.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education I receive at Antelope Valley College is very good when compared to the price per unit. As I see AVC, I read once that our tuition is one of the most competitively priced. As far as the financial Aid, I have to say that the staff lacks in knowledge of certain aspects of financial aid.

Campus Resources: There are a lot of people always on the network so sometimes you can't even get on it. And often the network is slow because of the overcrowding.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: We have plenty resources. the only thing is that you have to branch off and search for them yourselves because they dont avertise it.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Everytime I goto the computer lab there isnt always enough computers available because of the over crowding of the school, so sometimes there is a wait time. The printer has been down a few times when i tried printing out a report or class assignment. And sometimes the print cards are not always working so i would have to go across the hall and use actual money to print my work.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: It is an over crowded campus. There are not enough classes for everyone. Not enough people are motivated. There are alot of people that come up to the school that dont necessarily go here, that just hang out in the quad area. As for me i go here because i do want an education and it is close to home, so less gas being wasted.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There isn't anything unique about it. I feel that its like being in high school all over again.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There is always computer network, labs, and printing on campus. The down fall is that is so many people in either the 3 areas trying to do the same thing. Its over crowded. If you don't own your own computer your pretty much out of luck. And even if u have your own computer im not sure if there is wireless connection.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: Mostly, my school consists of working-class people with full-time jobs or families. They often juggle many different roles in addition to being students. Everybody is attending for one reason and reason only, education. People aren't as friendly. Especially individuals on the sports team. Some people are only friends with people that have the same interest and common things in life as they do. Only religious groups go out and talk to everyone.

2 College Sophomore

Career Services: So far since I've been attending my college. I haven't been into the career center. But I figured it wouldn't make a difference if I went there or not, because not many people in my area discuss how our college has helped them get a career. As far as alumni network, there is none. never seen or herd any alumni's . Job prospects isn't any better. Where I live there are no jobs and I highly doubt the college is helping any one.

5 College Freshman

Academic Experience: The english classes here are plentiful and the teachers love what they are teaching. It makes going to class more exciting. When the teacher is excited about a work, it makes you excited to read it for homework.

4 College Freshman

Online Courses: I realized from taking three online courses during one semester how much more I learned from the classes. Sometimes I get really bored with in-class discussions, versus being able to read the posted responses on my own time. The teachers have a nice setup for what they want their students to accomplish. It is more work than a campus class, in my opinion, but that makes my knowledge stronger.
