3 College Junior

Online Courses: The two online courses I have taken proved to be very resourceful. The only downfall is when the system/site is down.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The labs themselves were great, but I can never seem to connect from my laptop.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: I was a communications major, and there were a lot of helpful things around for me. For example, the speech competition.

2 College Senior

Student Body: While there is a student body, it doesn't really make its presence known all too much.

Academic Experience: My major at AVC is criminal justice. I will be obtaining my Bach in psychology once I transfer. The teachers I've have had in my criminal justice classes are wonderful. They are ex cops. They let us know what jobs are hiring. They inform us how to apply at these jobs and how we should act in a interview and what we should say. I love it

Career Services: I visited the career center maybe once or twice, but have visited the job placement center plenty of times. Funds are low and they can't guarantee you a job. They do have a bulletin at the college with a list of different jobs hiring which is very helpful for those who are about to graduate because some of theses jobs does require a degree.

Academic Flexibility: It has been a long journey but I am finally done. One more semester and I transfer to a university. Everything has been pretty straight forward. You pick your major and the counselor tells you all the classes you have to take to graduate and or transfer. It's that simple if you keep on track and is serious about your future

Student Body: Everyone who applies to antelope valley gets accepted. The workers there are quite friendly and helpful. All I do is goto class and go home because I do have kids, but I do make friends in the classroom and they are pretty nice. I have not had a bad experience yet.

Online Courses: Online classes are more difficult than in class, and the counselor will tell you that. It is better to just come on campus and take classes in class. If you have a busy schedule maybe online classes are for you. But in my case I got lazy. My computer would crash on me at times. You have to try and beat the deadline. I just rather take classes in the class vs online.

Academic Experience: The curriculum for a nursing major doesn't seem difficult, it all seems reasonable. The only problem being in this major is the fact that registering for science classes can be kind of difficult. There are many nursing majors which limits the opportunity to get into the science classes. The science classes offered are very helpful with professors that are passionate about their subjects, and the labs are always interesting.

2 College Junior

Student Body: My school is mostly packed with African-Americans who can be obnoxious or rude, but for the most part I don't stay on campus after class. Students in class are respectful.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Some professors are really into their students and have a desire in their subjects which makes learning easier. Teachers who don't keep the class entertained or are unorganized can be frustrating.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education I receive is worth the money I'm paying because in the end the money I put into will result into much more with a degree. If you're on time and have all the information it's a pretty smooth process. Thank god for financial help for those who need it to continue their education.

Student Body: In the school I attend, the student body really is a mix up of a lot of diverse people. What I have noticed about it though it's a community college, it mainly directed towards young adults that are fresh out of High school.

1 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The Nursing Program at this College has a long waiting period and overall I really dont want to wait to continue my schooling. Overall The college is a great school.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: If you don't get extra early registration you will have to crash most of your classes

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: They don't really offer all the classes needed to take to transfer so you would havr to go to a different school to take them

3 College Junior

Student Body: It has a lot of different activities for all different topics

3 College Junior

Online Courses: Over all good but sometimes classes are hard to get.

3 College Junior

Career Services: the head of the transfer and career center is very fast paced and i have yet to speak with another. I am scheduled in July for an appointment to make an updated education plan. Career services at the school though are very enlightening as long as you take the time to submit the tests they give and review the answers. PS i made a Very Lonng answer for my first question but for some reason it was unsubmitted . Grrrrr ...

Campus Resources: Our school offers a ton of programs to help us achieve our academic goals. There are many clubs and teachers who are there for tutoring, or help of any sort.

5 College Junior

Online Courses: I took psychology and economics online and they were both great! I learned a lot that I didn't already know and I definitely plan to take online courses again. My teachers were very helpful and involved, they made sure the students did well in order to pass their class.

Campus Resources: Our campus has a great gym and workout facility, they are always very clean. Our school offers a tremendous amount of activities that keep us the students engaged and everything ties in with furthering our education in some way which is always great! Our student center is very nice; it is kept clean and up to date on all of the things we need.

Campus Resources: The computers run very well! I have only ever experienced one problem when it came to doing work on the computer, printing, or copying documents. Once in my psychology class (online course), I was unable to turn my homework in because there was a server glitch. My teacher fully understood and extended our deadline by one day. Overall everything runs quite efficiently, I never have problems printing or copying documents or evening using the computer and the schools website.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: I didn't think that I would do well with an online course, but I was pleasantly surprised. They do ask a lot of you as far as participation. You must be savvy with the computer. If you can't do basic troubleshooting then you should definitely go to the campus for a class. The online option was great because I didn't have to worry about daycare.
