College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I have not really explored the resources. Im just trying to transfer out asap.

Campus Resources: There aree few clubs, and then they are hard to contact. The nursing program has a 2 year waiting list and classes are hard to get into. The only good thing is the new Health and Science building. There is wifi in there with state of the arc computer labs.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There are plenty of labs and wifi in the new Health and Science building. But no wifi anywhere else. The computer labs are okay.... The prints cost 15 cents a paper though.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Lines where to long they work slow in a way but they are nice to you no mattter what.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am a liberal arts major and if you put in the work you can succeed. What you put in for sure is exactly what is what your going to get out.

Academic Experience: My major will be in the Nursing Program. Even though I am starting some of the pre-requisites now, it is comparable to what I expected to be taking for this career. Some of the classes I already have taken with my Associates Degree have been accepted by this school and have given me credit towards my studies.

Student Body: I won't be starting classes until the Fall. However, I have spent a lot of time going to back and forth from the school to get things situated in order to start school. The student body is a mixture of just out of high school students to working class people with jobs. The ethnicity appears to be diverse.

Online Courses: I have taken on line classes before, but not through this college. Therefore I can't answer as to how good or bad Antelope Valley College's on line courses are at this time.

Academic Flexibility: At first I had a mix review of my teachers and class settings in AVC. Some teachers teach and others do not. It was frustrating to not learn materials that you have to learn. Then my second semester as well as Summer session was great. As far as I encountered, bad teachers are a bad apples in a pile of good apples. The workload is sufficient but also understandable. Actually do your work and life is a breeze. Be motivated to study and learn or else. And yes times are flexible. There are different times for the same classes so you pick what's convenient for you. Please go to ratemyprofessor.com to see the ratings of your professor. You never know that you might land with a bad apple although rare.

Academic Flexibility: I love that many of the credits I'm taking will transfer to another school, even if I don't go straight there after graduating from AVC. Some of the class offerings in my major (web design) are limited to one night class only per semester, taught by only one teacher, which can be tricky when scheduling child care, or tying to work a job, but otherwise, the class schedule offerings are pretty good.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid office at AVC is friendly and patient, knowledgeable and thorough. They have helped me endlessly, answering all manner of questions, and even when they couldn't answer my questions, they kindly directed me to whomever could. Very nice! Some of the financial aid services (like) scholarships were harder to find, but I eventually found where I needed to go, and was assisted by friendly. knowledgeable people there, too.

Career Services: What I have experienced of the career and job services at AVC are good, I just haven't had the opportunity to fully utilize them. But the people there are great! Very helpful, full of smiles and encouragement and good ideas. My job prospects haven't been that good anyway, so I don't know what amount of help AVC's staff and volunteers could be. But I will be sure to make them part of my full time job hunt when I graduate!

Tuition & Financial Aid: Kind of wish I was eligible for financial aid. books are expensive and I wouldn't waste the money like I know others do. I appreciate the education though.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Some teachers are really great and one can tell they're truly interested in the subject they're teacher. However I've encountered one or two that aren't very... helpful.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: It's easy for me to choose classes for my desired schedule but the specific classes are not flexible. If something comes up and I can't make it to class, boy does my grade suffer.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I don't use the computers much but when I do they are usually reliable and pretty quick.
