4 College Freshman

Career Services: Post College – AVC is very helpful with finding a suitable job for you. You should have no problem.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: The people who go to AVC are mostly returning parents, multiracial, very diverse, socialites, fresh out of high school, there for the social aspect of things.

Tuition & Financial Aid: It's Money Honey – If you fill out the FAFSA tuition will only cost $1 per semester, so that is an amazing bargain! If you're a full time student you can get anywhere from $600 to $1,200 in financial aid. Going to this school can be cheap and very affordable!

4 College Junior

Student Body: Student body is diverse. Fresh high school grads as well as plenty of adults who have been out of school for anywhere from a few years to a few decades. I would say the school has nearly half of each type, so no matter where you are in terms of your degree, you will fit right in.

Campus Resources: Need for Personal Computer – There are computer labs on campus and they print whatever you need. However you are charged $.15 per page that you print out and if the computer lab is unavailable for some reason the library computers do not have the software required to complete assignments. You have to have a backup plan.

Campus Resources: Our campus is well taken care of, however there has been so much construction going on that loud equipment, blocked pathways and closed parking lots are quite annoying. Our library is well stocked and the librarians are helpful. We have a beautiful track and football field which is well manicured and considerably new, I believe. It is not a campus that offers living facilities.

Academic Experience: History Major – Having swapped majors a few times, I have landed on History (actually a Liberal Arts major because AVC doesn't offer a history degree). I have taken one class so far for my history major and my professor was incredible. Not only was he engrossed in the subject, he made it easy for his class to relate to past events by comparing and contrasting with today's most important events. Much of these involved presidential decisions. Homework was minimal for this class. I do wish, however that the rest of my class had been as involved as I wanted to be. As I continue with my major, I will learn more about the program overall.

Campus Resources: Spread Diversity – Antelope Valley College has programs in which a student can register to be a pharmacy technician, a nurse, and many other fields. Also, the students you encounter here come from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages, making it a great institution to socialize.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Three's a Crowd – Before attending Antelope Valley College, I attended a four-year university that had flexible schedules and small classrooms. While attending Antelope Valley College, I have noticed that, although there is some degree of flexibility in classes, there are too many students for almost every class available. However, this institution has few hassles in accepting credits from other colleges for they will accept the majority, if not all, of transferrable units.

Online Courses: The online courses can be a good thing if you have a busy schedule, but not if theres a heavy work load with not a lot of help. Its hard to do things all on your own and you barely have communication with your instructor.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: More Knowlwdge – Antelope VAlley College needs to help the new students coming into the school more then they currently do. It will help them avoid a lot of mistakes the freshmen experience.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: The amount of financial aid offered to me was helpful, and enough to cover any expenses on books, classes etc. If it wasnt for this program it would have been difficult to cover the cost of my college expenses

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: AVC has a wide diversity of students, some that have recently graduated from high school and other who are working adults looking to advance in their careers or just looking for a new career. I haven't really had any problems with acceptance or challenges with regards to diversity.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: All online classes are accessed through blackboard. The workload is about the same as attending a class. Most teachers and peers interact good. The site does provide the student with resources such as: textbook website, a link to keep track of assignments and grades. We also have a link for weekly discussions.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have had a good experience with the financial aid department. They encourage the student to apply early. The tuition for the college is reasonable.

3 College Student

Campus Resources: Computer Labs – My school has a lot of computer labs that are offered throughout the day, which is very helpful when one needs to use them while on campus.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: The tutoring at Antelope Valley College is rather good. They have a nice Learning Center.

2 College Student

Overall Experience: Unhappy About My Choice – To see a counselor about anything students have to go to the college even before it opens up just to make an appointment with a counselor, and you are not even garunteed a appointment after waiting in line all that time. It's a horrible system, and it makes it really hard on the student to discuss their future education routes.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: Never Been There – I have never been to any of those but ive heard good things from my friends so im guessing its a good environment and they respond to your needs.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Its Relaxing – The Flexibility here is great i have 1 hour breaks and 2 hour breaks in between my classes. I have a chance to complete all my work in the learning center. So in my opinion the flexibility is great and i cant ask for more

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: It's All Business – Its a college and i feel like we get what we pay for. I am greatfulfor the price i'm getting my classes for and the proffesors are good. However i havent been to another college because of the pricing, but in my opinion Avc is a good community college.
