Tuition & Financial Aid: No Problems – I've applied for financial aid for the first time a few months ago, and it's still being processed. I'm not really sure what to expect. As for the educational experience, it's not bad at all. It differs with each teacher. Some are more engaging and passionate about their subjects more than others.

Overall Experience: Hard to Get Classes That You Need – It's an okay school, but they don't have a lot to offer. It's been a up and down roller coaster ride with them. There aren't really any good school functions or any that i have noticed so I can't really comment on that.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Afraid of Money – The money granted to me was what I needed if not for the free bill I get to live in a house for free. It filled my books and eating habits, of course, I may have gone overboard. I was afraid of not getting enough money so I can be able to live in a dorm in CSUN and I still don't understand how it goes.

Academic Flexibility: Luckily Close – I would have loved to go somewhere else to live but reasons have me at a disadvantage to attend to the closest college. But overall, my first college experience has been well and I await for my next semester to begin. But the moment in when I transfer will be the greatest day ever.

Online Courses: Sometimes Progress Is Not Progress – Online classes are ineffectual for teaching purposes, and only offer conveinence and a save on gas. The drawback is there is no face time with the teacher, the classes are larger, and if you don't understand something good luck! There is more homework and if you work full time it is very difficult to keep up.

Campus Resources: Video/Graphics Program – Antelope Valley college has an excellent Video program. Their MAC computers are top of the line, and the teachers have alot of experience in their fields. If you want to get into computer graphics or video editing I highly recommend this school.

Campus Resources: Computer Labs – the computer lab is great, there are plenty of computers and fast pace internet.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Good I Guess – just hard to get some classes you need because of cutbacks and some people choosing anything

Academic Experience: Coould Be Better – seems like all the classes for my specific degree are all at night should be some for different times

Campus Resources: We Are the Best – Antelope Valley College has the best Deaf Studies program in the state of California.

Academic Experience: school is really great i meet alot of new friends and also some old ones. the teachers are really good learners and also the tutors there.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Antelope Valley College's tuition and financial aid process is fast and simple. The value of the education I'm receiving is worth the tuition I paid. The financial aid office at my school is very helpful and makes the process quick and easy.

Academic Flexibility: Availability of Courses – The biggest problem with this school is the unavailability of classes, due to budget cuts among man other factors. I've encountered many students who have attended this community college for three to five years because they have been unable to register for a particular class and that is keeping them from transferring. This school needs more classes and it needs to improve its policy on priority registration.

Overall Experience: Temporary School – I am currently attending Antelope Valley College and hoping to transfer to a four-year University. I haven't really attended any school events or school's functions. I am here to complete my basics and work hard to get in the Honors program so I can transfer soon.

Campus Resources: Good Network Access – The computer network isn't the best but it gets the job done, there are plenty of computer labs on campus and it really isn't necessary to have a personal computer because there are plenty on campus. It is up to the students to take advantage of it though.

Online Courses: Online Work – I really like the math work program they have on the internet.

Academic Experience: Cal-Works Job Opportunities – This has always been wonderful everyone would always say this is for the students and they had always worked around a students classes and what ever was going on for the student. Except this semester my dept. was able to have 7 workers only I have been there for sometime now and I love my job, but new management was more focused on what they needed. I was always able to work Monday to Thursdays 8am to 1 pm and I have always had Fridays off to complete my studies, the reason I do this is because I have a learning dissability and I need the weekend and fridays to pass with a good grade. This time I even told the director of Cal-Works what was going on in my dept. he asked me why I was telling him and I said so I am covered. That did not help me at all, I was told that they would being getting another student to help which was great BUT I was not told they would be taking eight hours of my time and giving it to someone else and that I could not have my 20 hours of work a week. When I found out I would be less eight hours I told them I would work around it and they did not care they still took my hours away from me. I am an older student with four teenagers and have about a year left to complete my program and at this point I am not sure if I will be able to keep going to school. This is my last chance to be able to go to school and I know I was treated very unfair.

Campus Resources: Resources on Campus – We have many resources on campus, Learn Center, Student Center, Athletic Center Library, Campus Activities, and we have many other resources on campus. What ever your need is there is a place on campus for it.

Overall Experience: Undervalued and Underappreciated – A lot of people complain and diminish AVC's value. but to be honest, the teachers are awesome, the cost is reasonable and the biggest issues are the immature young adults (typically the ones bashing the school). I transferred out to a 4 year UC. There was no real interaction with my professors, cost was through the roof and there were still plenty of immature young "adults" perhaps even more so. Being back at AVC feel good. You can make mistakes with only limited wallet regrets.

Career Services: I Have Always Had Fridays Off – Now there is new managment and they did not like the idea of giving me Fridays off, they did end up giving me them off BUT they did not give me the chance to work it out. They took 8 hours away from me and gave them to another peson. I feel they should of told me the consequences and gave me the chance to say ok before they took the hours and gave them away. All of the other times they let me work 20 hours with the old managment. I even told the director of cal-works what was going on before hand so I was covered but he also went along with my managment, and just took my hours and gave them away knowing no one else has money to give me those 8 hours and they were given to me.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have not had any problems in any area when it came to tuition and Financial aid.

Overall Experience: The teachers are great! Books are overpriced. The school doesn't always have the classes that I need because of the economy right now, so another school might be better, but Antelope Valley College works.

Academic Experience: Only My First Semester – This is only my first semester but I was able to get into 4 class that I signed up for all in August. I just had to watch the classes I wanted by checking the amount of seats taken about 2 times a day. Sure I got into all my classes by being on the waiting list and then crashing one. But I was able to get into Math, Reading, Geography all last minute. Which is rare in a community college!

Campus Resources: College Teach Can Help? My math teacher Mr. Wallace is the best math teacher you could have. Whether you were good at math, or math couldn't be Latin and make more sense. He's really something a girl needed to get back on her feet with math.
