College Senior

Student Body: I personally can't give the student body a grade. I do not know much of the student body. It is my fault for not knowing who they are and what goals they want to accomplish. Right now I'm just focused in finishing my study and acquired my degree.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: they have computers labs miultible one but alot of time they are croowded

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: i choose this school becuase it flexible and a community college. i am able to work around my schedule. my units are transverable

3 College Freshman

Student Body: they are very flexible , they help you on your time ,work aroound your schedule, and provide you with everything you need.

Campus Resources: There are congested computer labs on the campus, and printing is not free, which makes sense. But, it's aggravating when you don't have any change on yourself. And there is no Wi-Fi in AVC at all. I recommend having your own computer.

3 College Senior

Career Services: AVC doesn't have that much of a career center. I'd say it's transfer center is more prominent. The unemployment in the Antelope Valley isn't so great; and AVC is a two-year college. I would recommend using the transfer center to help yourself.

Online Courses: Mathematics has never been my best subject. I had Intermediate Algebra online, and I took the tests inside of a classroom; 4 tests out of the entire semester. The homework I was very helpful, and I was surprised to see how well I did on my tests. My teacher also provided an online test prep guide that was very helpful. If you can manage your time, and be proactive on your school work, then an online class may be good for you.

1 College Junior

Campus Resources: There is nothing really special about Avc no one really wants to be there are you can tell

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: We have a really nice library and we have access to all the other things it is just that the computers need an update and our pe facilities need a new manager because the current one is horribly mean.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: Everyone interacts with each other in the classroom and everyone works wells in groups but as far as in clubs and other things not so much.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Many of the professors here are very good (highly knowledgeable, accesible, and can communicate with there students in a friendly bu professor manner), but there are several professors that could make any student question whether they should be in college at all due to their behavior (general rudeness and lack of real care for the students and at times even telling the students they should consider quitting school altogether because they "obviously" can't understand--I've witnessed this happening to others and the damage can be significant). However, if you take a course with one of the good profs, then your experience and knowledge you gain is well worth your time in school. The curriculum is generally very interesting and classes are set up well to enhance learning. Class registration is a relatively simple process. The only issue, really, is the shortage of classes, so if you don't have an early registration date (no later than week 2 for core classes), getting into needed classes is nearly impossible. The workload is average for most classes, with the exception of certain programs (science-based, math, and nursing) that have very intensive workloads. There is a study abroad program (to Spain) for those who know or have taken Spanish.

Campus Resources: There are a few computer labs, but when they fill up, you have to know where to go when they can't fit anymore people. But the lines for the labs are usually really fast and you can print for a relatively cheap price. I think they should get new copy machines in the library because they are constantly being used and there is always at least two broken. The network reliability is usually really good.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: I love the library. It may not have all of the magical books your heart desires, but the crew in the library itself are more helpful than you would think. I have never really been in the athletic centers, but I've heard that they are nice. I love the new theater, I think it's beautiful. And there are always new campus activities to keep people involved.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: When you need to find something, you kind of have to know where to go to get the answer. People who have been going there for more than a semester know where to go for whatever they need. But if you're brand new, it will be kind of difficult to know where the good resources are in the small campus.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: The teachers are all so different from one another, you won't see any two the same. The facilities are constantly being updated and brought back to life. The older facilities and buildings can be kind of sketchy, but they're just buildings. I like my school as a school. But the community in the school is quite unwelcoming. It's just a place where, if you don't know people, it will be hard for you to meet people.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: Online couses give alot of "busy" work without alot of learning.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: Everyone is nice and efficient in the financial aid office however it would be nice if the lines were not so long.

College Freshman

Career Services: I have not experienced this type of service as of today.

College Freshman

Online Courses: i dont really know about the online courses. sorry

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: i like my school , i dont have the school pride though. great classrooms and everyone is really nice. teachers are very good at explaining the work im having trouble in.

4 College Freshman

Online Courses: I was pretty excited about taking a online math class. I dont have to show up to class every week. When ever i need extra help i can just go in and see my professor. So far i love my online class.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Even though the campus lacks dorms, it is still pretty comfortable being on campus and catching up with friends.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The computer network is exceptional. We students rarely have problems with the network. Our professors are always able to keep us updated with the latest news.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: My school library and computer lab services are very helpful. My school has plenty of computers so there is never a line or waitlist to get on the computer. Also i like my school tutoring services which are free to all Antelope Valley College students.

College Freshman

Career Services: Currently im still attending Antelope Valley College. I dont know much about my college Career Services.
