Overall Experience: Happy With My Decision – Since I began my school career at Anoka Ramsey I couldn't be happier. The classes and teachers here are wonderful and very helpful. They also offer tons of student help which helped me alot become so successful in college.

Academic Flexibility: Great Felxibility – Anoka Ramsey offers great felxibility with classes and have never found it a hassle scheduling wise to work around my life and work and school. Its a great school.

Academic Experience: It is very easy to get a hold of most professors and find time to work with them. There are some teachers that know what they are lecturing but have a hard time answering questions.

4 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Great Tuition – For all the classes I have taken, I would say the tuition is definitely worth it!

Academic Flexibility: Credits Transfer – Anoka Ramsey community college has the lowest tuition rates at the moment, which is why I decided to stay after two years of PSEO to finish up my generals. It is very easy to register for classes. I would say that the advising is not very good; they don't always know what they are talking about. I am transferring to the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities and everything is transferring to my major. The only class I know of that is hard to transfer is Anatomy and Physiology 1&2 and that's because at the University they have it as two separate classes.

Online Courses: Peer Interaction – When I took an online class I thought I wasn't going to talk to anyone else in my class. Once I started the class we used the discussion board every week. I got to know many of my class mates and ended up meeting up with some of them to study for class.

Academic Flexibility: Class Flexibility – The school is made for kids who work as well as go to school. They have many classes during the day as well as at night. Most teachers understand that you are busy and everyone commutes to the school so they rarely give out assignments where you have to spend extra time in the school.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: For the Most Part Everything Has Gone Wonderful. The two hassles I had were financial aid and trying to transfer previous college credits. I am still trying to transfer the credits but the financial aid has gone through.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Many Activites and Great Teachers – For the time I have been attending this school it has been a good experience. My professors have been great! There are so many extra curricular activities especially for a community college. I am very happy with my choice of school.

Online Courses: Online Classes Are a Blessing and a Curse – First, the online classes are more expensive than identical seated classes, by about $100. This might not make a difference to a PSEO student, who doesn't pay for classes, but can be a burden to the working adult student who doesn't get any financial aid.

An online class is terrific for students who can't be on campus because of work or family commitments, since you can make time for the class at midnight if you want. It's challenging for a lot of students, however, to make the same time commitment to an online class as if it were a seated class. An online class also requires a student to be more disciplined - there's no verbal reminder (from the prof or a classmate) about a deadline, for example.

There can be a lot less interaction between students and with the professor in an online class. if you're independent minded, disciplined, and don't need a lot of feedback, it's great. If you find you need more explanation on the subject, you could be in trouble. Most of the profs understand and will encourage you to come in for help, but if you work full time you might not be able to get in. Online classes require a lot more flexibility and creativity on the student's part.

Academic Flexibility: Make the Most – Registering for classes can be done online for all but PSEO students, which means it's nearly impossible to see an adviser if you have any questions in the week leading up to the deadline. As for how to choose your classes, you'll be directed to the sheet outlining the transfer curriculum. There are just a few advisers, 6-8, for the entire college, so it's difficult to get anything more than just a thumbnail of a class description or explanation. If you aren't sure about your program requirements, or haven't thought that far ahead (not surprising during the first semester), you could end up having to take a lot of classes in the last semester just to finish.

As for flexibility, many of the core or required classes will offer an online section for students who can't be on campus.

College Freshman

Online Courses: I really don't like online courses so I try not to take them

5 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: Cliche, but It Is the Best Value. It is the cheapest school in MN and I don't feel at all like I'm getting a second-rate education. In fact, I've heard many complaints from friends at universities about the bad teachers, but all mine have been wonderful.

Overall Experience: Very Nice, How Much? It is a really nice school with wonderful teachers and quite a bit more unity than expected. So far I have enjoyed my time here and have enjoyed my classes. The only downside I could give is that it probably doesn't do justice to the envisioned "college experience" because many people here are PSEO high school students or older adults or simply just stay for a year or two. But it is whatever you make of it and there are plenty of opportunities here.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Very Diverse – Anoka-Ramsey Community College has a very diverse student body. There is students of all ages, gender, ethnic and so on. I prefer diversity because one can learn from another. The only challenge I have to diversity is that there has been times that I could not understand a few of my fellow students.

Campus Resources: Computer Labs – Being that I am going for my Associate in Fine Arts, I can only speak from the Visual Arts(VA) building. The computer labs in the VA are very nice and clean. I have never encountered an issue yet. The VA building is fairly new so the technology is still newer and quite reliable. I have my own laptop but I have not felt the need to bring it.

Campus Resources: Art Program – Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids has more classes available for art, along with scholarships. Also, it is close to home. But I like that it does not cost a fortune to attend, because many people change their minds during college. I really like that my school has a seperate building for Visual Arts, because it is less crowded and easier to get to class.

College Freshman

Career Services: I have not used any post-grad services at my school, I plan to attend a univeristy after I graduate high school.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: Going to this school I have met many new and interesting people. I have also met a few dangerous people, that I try to stay away from. There has been assaults near this school, bomb threats, and fires.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: PSEO Student – I am a PSEO student so I did not have much of an option where to go. Anoka Ramsey has its ups and downs. The administration and counselors are nice. I have had bad experiences with the teachers, tutors, and staff at the book store. I plan to attend a University once I have my generals completed.

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: New art building which is nice but no one goes there unless you're in an art class. Weight room is a joke. Student center is nice, if there wasnt so many nerds playing wow in there. New gym will be finished next year but ill be gone by then.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: you meet cool people. I guess we went to nationals for soccer this year but no one knew or cared. lol typical c.c. experience. some cool teachers. others will fail you no matter how hard you try, check rateyourproffesor.com before you register. otherwise its an all right college

5 College Sophomore

Student Body: They are very diverse and make a huge effort through various programs.

5 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Online Enviroment – Overall I have been very satisfied with online classes. There is good communication between teachers and students, peer to peer interaction and opportunities etc.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: As an all online class student, I have found Anoka-Ramsey to have very good teachers who are experienced online teachers. They have the unique ability to make the online enviroment very much like a classroom.
