Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Angelo State University, and San Angelo by extension, has a small, friendly feel. In addition to a standard choice of majors, ASU offers many programs throughout the semester for entertainment, and there is a club for everyone if a student does some digging. No matter what taste a student has, there will be a club of like-minded people, and overall, people are generally accepting of each other, even if they disagree with them.

The city has all the comforts of a larger city with the feel of a small town. There is very little to be left wanting when at ASU or in San Angelo. However, students that come from larger metropolitan areas may find the small size on the boring side due to minimal variety. On the flip side, students coming from rural ares are likely to love having things to do without a long drive. A few students dislike the area, and a few students love it, but overall, many are happy with the choice to come to ASU.

Campus Strictness: There are rules you have to follow but this is for the wellbeing of students and of others.

Diversity: ASU is very diverse. This provides you to meet a lot of different people and interact with them. You start learning different things about other economic backgrounds etc.

Off-Campus Housing: Paying for rent is getting more expensive so as college students we try and get roommates to lower the bill.

Local Atmosphere: I've been in San Angelo for a long time. I like the environment but I would like to try something new in the future. San Angelo is perfect because its not big or small but it does lack some entertainment. I've seen improvement because there is more activities in the community.

Facilities: There are a lot of groups at ASU. Sports are a great way to bring the students together. Homecoming is a great deal AU. There are a lot of events that go on during the week that cause you to want to be involved. receiving the emails of activities keep you up to date. The library is very useful when you have a project or need a quiet study place.
