Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Angelo State University, and San Angelo by extension, has a small, friendly feel. In addition to a standard choice of majors, ASU offers many programs throughout the semester for entertainment, and there is a club for everyone if a student does some digging. No matter what taste a student has, there will be a club of like-minded people, and overall, people are generally accepting of each other, even if they disagree with them.

The city has all the comforts of a larger city with the feel of a small town. There is very little to be left wanting when at ASU or in San Angelo. However, students that come from larger metropolitan areas may find the small size on the boring side due to minimal variety. On the flip side, students coming from rural ares are likely to love having things to do without a long drive. A few students dislike the area, and a few students love it, but overall, many are happy with the choice to come to ASU.

Nightlife: The town has one country dance hall. And otherwise its house parties with the SAME people every weekend.

Greek Life: Girls cant have sorority houses because of some old town rule. And the one frat house there is only houses 2 people, its more of a party house.

Campus Housing: I have visited a lot of my friends dorms on other campuses. None are anywhere near as nice as Angelo states. Most buildings are new so there is no bugs or rats to worry about and every aspect of the room is customize-able, so there are tons of ways to set up your room

Campus Housing: Housing around Angelo State varies. It depends wherever a person chooses to live either for accommodation or financial is what they receive. The dorm rooms I have been too are very decent, modern and livable. I enjoy living where I am at at the moment. Very accommodating and modern.

Overall Experience: I enjoy being part of Angelo State University because it is far enough from home that I can be independent and it is close enough that I can go home whenever I desire, even for the day. I also like that it is in a small town, about the same of my home town. The classrooms are small enough to get that one on one student professor interaction. Also classmates are friendly and outgoing. Angelo is a place to meet people, and be active it is great.
