4 College Freshman

Facilities: I really like Angelo, the library is big and very comfortable, and I like spending my time doing homework there than anywhere else. The Recreation Center is really nice as well. There are also activities that the dorm rooms do and they are pretty fun.

College Freshman

Facilities: I'm not really sure. Maybe the gym or the University Center.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: There are tennis courts, volleyball courts, and basketball courts outside for students to use any time, and lots more in the gym. Intramural sports are also huge on campus. Sororities and fraternities are prominent on campus, too.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: We gave a great gym, honors lounge, and student center!

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Student life is fun, especially if you get involved!

ASU has very nice facilities for the size of the school. There are not many options, but they are well maintained. There is only one student center to hang out at, but students all have their favorite spots. The University Center has ping-pong and pool, as well as a coffee and frozen yogurt shop and chairs to chill in while waiting for class. The UC also has a career developement center, the campus post office, and plenty of information available for students. Computer labs are a smidgeon too few. The student population is outgrowing the computer population, and nothing has been rectified as of yet. The computer labs that ASU does have are fairly current and have good software packages.

The CHP handles all the workout needs of the students and even has fun options like the rock climing wall. The recreational (UREC) people also have occasional excursions like ski trips or mountain biking in San Angelo State Park. A few other cool things on campus are the planetarium, Texan Hall Theatre, and the Plaza Verde commons viewing room. The planetarium, located in the Vincent Physical Science building, has weekly viewings and is also available for club use to show movies. The Texan Hall Theater is also available for club use, and residential programs typically have something there every other week. The Plaza Verde commons has a double projector screen viewing room that is used much like the Texan Theater.

Clubs and Organizations on Campus
Student organizations can be grouped into five categories: charity, Greek, hobby, religious, and minority. The religious clubs are generally all Christian denominations. The hobby organizations are ones like Anime Club, or the Crux Monkeys climbing club. Minority groups like the Association of Mexican American Students (AMAS) are designed to spread knowledge about minorities. Lastly, charity-type groups like the TOMS Club, or Silver Wings (Air Force supporters) are about love of charity and the fellow man. To start a club, a student must have a petition of interest for the club, and it must be approved by the Center for Student Involvement.
