1 College Sophomore

Transportation: no transportation options available if u dont bugg ur friends for rides

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: there has been numerous break-ins, and my bike has been stolen and my friends cars broken in twice

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received a decent amount of financial aid, but it wasn't easy, so I had to stay on top of things.

4 College Senior

Majors: The process of getting into an Elementary Education is very easy. There was no special application process when applying for the program. In fact, your advisor will help keep you up-to-date on things you need to do and he/she will also make sure you are taking the right prerequisites and in the correct order.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on ASU's campus. It is a small, beautiful, safe place to be. Keep your doors locked at night, and hide any valuable items that are in your vehicle to avoid petty theft or late-night pranks.

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: San Angelo is a relatively small town. The small town atmosphere helps make the town feel like home. San Angelo also offers a variety of activities including shopping at the Sunset Mall, movie entertainment at Tinseltown, bowling at Stadium Lanes, plenty of eating areas, and many local parks. The professors at Angelo State University are friendly and usually know each of their students on a personal basis.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Living at Home in My Hometown – I have lived in Grape Creek for as long as I can remember. It takes twenty minutes to get to campus. I spent a semester living at home and found it so-so. There were however, some pros to it. I got to stay in my own bed every night like I have done for the past 19 years. I did not have to have a meal plan which lowered my tuition and fees cost. There were more areas for me to park, which got me closer to specific buildings I needed. On the con side, I spent majority of my money on gas. Another thing I did not like was having to follow my mother's rules since I was still under her roof. Lack of freedom was an issue for me.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Being from Texas, the majority of our students are Caucasian, however with our school adding more room for international studies, there has been an increase in foreign students coming to our school; mainly Koreans. There are a good amount of African Americans as well and they are mainly involved with our extracurricular activities such as sports.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: The main drug I have noticed while on campus is cigarettes. I do not live on campus so I only see people smoking mostly in the afternoons while I am on my way to class. On a side note, those who do smoke follow the campus policy of distance from the doorways. From what I hear however, alcohol is the main issue with students...especially those who are in a fraternity or sorority.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are few student housing options..that being 2..and all the other apartments are older. Not many new apartments. But rent is relatively cheap in the area. Pretty low crime rate was a big plus. Also everything is pretty close to the school.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many restaurants to eat at while you are in San Angelo. Many places do offer discounts like Rosa's or Golden Chick. It's convenient because there are many restaurants located near the University. Plus, San Angelo is a small town, so even if you have to travel across town to eat at a restaurant, it usually only 10 minutes away and very easy to find your way back to campus.

4 College Junior

Parking: cost is relatively cheap compared to bigger universities and if you don't have a D permit I hear it is hard to find parking in the B lots.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus. However, I do have friends that do. The dorms are very safe and people are very friendly there.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel very safe at ASU. There are rarely any crimes going on, however, rarely there have been some occasions where burglaries have taken place in people's cars. So one should always keep their car or dorms locked.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Our campus is strict as in any other college campus. They suspect you to make the best grades and are not willing to tolerate bad grades. I work in the Dean's office at the College of Business, and there are several cases of people that don't even try. They are put onto academic probation which is great because it scare the student and influences them to do better, well atleast most of the time.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: there is always something to do. there is a club within walking distance of campus, meaning driving drunk is not necessary, which saves a good many lives. however, underage students may have to search harder for fun. students with a generally social life never should have a night bored though.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: the school's importance to the town of san angelo is overwhelming. angelo's community relies heavily on the college, therefor there is always something for students to do, on campus or off campus

5 College Freshman

Facilities: Angelo state university has well maintained facilities. There is always somewhere to go, and something to do. the buildings are well kept, and the scenery never gets boring

1 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The cafe food is terrible, at least for me. I don't like the food and would rather eat nothing or barely anything. The food at the UC is a little better.

3 College Freshman

Parking: parking canbe a nightmare, sometimes there are spots avaiable. But at times it can be difficult to find one. There are some parking lots near places where you usually go and you cant park because you dont have to correct parking permit.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: The falls are pretty warm and in the spring the weather gets a little cooler. The weather varies through out the year.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel pretty safe everyday that I attend school and have never felt uncomfortable on campus.

3 College Freshman

Parking: it's hard to find a good parking spot near the dorms

4 College Senior

Weather: The weather in west texas is usually very good. It is very hot during the summer and sometimes it snows during the winter but ASU is very good at canceling classes when needed.

4 College Senior

Computers: The computer labs at Angelo State are very well maintained. There are some times throughout the day that they are busier than others but there are so many labs and computers that there is usually computers available for everyone.

Angelo State University, and San Angelo by extension, has a small, friendly feel. In addition to a standard choice of majors, ASU offers many programs throughout the semester for entertainment, and there is a club for everyone if a student does some digging. No matter what taste a student has, there will be a club of like-minded people, and overall, people are generally accepting of each other, even if they disagree with them.

The city has all the comforts of a larger city with the feel of a small town. There is very little to be left wanting when at ASU or in San Angelo. However, students that come from larger metropolitan areas may find the small size on the boring side due to minimal variety. On the flip side, students coming from rural ares are likely to love having things to do without a long drive. A few students dislike the area, and a few students love it, but overall, many are happy with the choice to come to ASU.
