Health & Safety: Very Safe – I have always felt safe at Andrews. There is little to no violence, yet there is a security prescence. They do an excellent job.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Not Applicable for Me. I live at home with my parents, but my fellow students say that there are options for housing that are fairly reasonable.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There's a few restaurants and sandwich places but nothing too exciting. Except Baguette de France.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: There's not much shopping in town so you have to drive to either Benton Harbor or South Bend if you want decent stores. Each about 15-25 minutes away.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Good spiritual atmosphere and safe environment, usually friendly.

Computers: Computer Labs and WI-FI – There are 2 computer labs on campus, there could be more- one in every academic building would be nice, with greater hours of availability. The computer labs in the student Dormitories have the greatest access and schedule availability, but for on campus /dorm students only.

Campus Strictness: Sooo Damn Strict – The cops are insecure ass****s who dont know s*** about what they are doin. They be tearing down the place lookin for weed from a rumor and then they dont even say sorry when they dont find none.

1 College Senior

Academics: This school exists to indoctrinate you in Adventist beliefs, not to help you get a real job or go to a real graduate school. The funny thing is, the professors can't even agree on what the beliefs are so you get a load of conflicting crap.

Facilities: Strong Moral Values – There is a balanced blend between the religous and the academic with training in moral and social responsiblity

1 College Senior

Scholarships: Aid the First Year, Then You're on Your Own – The school will give you aid, call it "guaranteed" but if you don't keep a 3.8 GPA, you will lose all your aid sophomore year. They use the aid to entice you to come to your school, but unless you're in the three percent of campus with a 3.8 or higher, you won't get s*** your second year.

Campus Dining: Same Thing Over and Over – The food itself isn't awful or anything, but after about a week, you will be sick of eating the same subpar food over and over and over... Also, the cafeteria isn't that nice.

1 College Sophomore

Facilities: Most of the facilities are very old and outdated. Some, such as the Howard Performing Arts Center, however, have recently been renovated making them very nice. All of the facilities are, however, inferior to that of nearby schools and similarly ranked schools.

1 College Sophomore

Academics: Not an Academic School – This school is an Adventist school. The professors are here because of their commitment to the Adventist Church and its theology, not because of their expertise.

Overall Experience: Great School – You can find everything you're looking for at Andrews...except meat. Friends, great education, great teachers, calm environment, and most importantly a relationship with God!

1 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Very Strict for Your Own Good. This school really cares about it's students because they want everyone to be accounted for every night. There is a curfew for every undergraduate student that varies in years. Dorms are not co-ed. No drinking, smoking, sex, foul language allowed. Basically anything bad is unacceptable in the school.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Differnt Dorms Different Quality – The Undergraduate girls dorm at AU (Lamson Hall) needs a lot of updating but it is livable, however the girls graduate dorm (Damazo Hall) is incredible because it is brand new. Meijer Hall, the undergraduate boys dorm is a nice dorm while the men's graduate dorm (Burman Hall) needs updating.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Diverse Students in Diverse Ways – Every student at Andrews University is different in every way, but you will surely make friends at this school. There are cliques here like the jocks, scientists, seminarians and what not but if you're open to anyone, there should not be a problem.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing such as the apartments look like they need a little updating, but do seem to be a safe place for older students/graduate students

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Calm, Spiritual Atmosphere and Strong Academics – Andrews University provides a spiritual environment while highly educating and preparing its students to prepare for the real working world.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: Finances Tend to Be a Nightmare – A lot of hoops have to be jumped in order to get the financial aspect of registration in order. I felt like the different departments in the administration building didn't communicate and I often had to go through the same process several times with different people before actually receiving the okay to continue with registration.

3 College Senior

Parking: Parking on campus can be sticky for students, whether living in the dorm or off campus. There are certain parking lots for dorm students only and some for campus students only. But the dorm students are often forced to walk a long way to class and there is not enough parking for off-campus students.

4 College Senior

Academics: Professors Encourage Scholarly Research – I'm at Andrews University and have been pleased to discover that professors are very flexible and open to students wishing to pursue a scholarly degree. My professors have excused me from class so that I could go to scholarly conventions and have encouraged me to work as an undergraduate research assistant for them so that I could get more research experience which has helped me decide what I want to do for a career.

Overall Experience: I Love It! I think Andrews is an excellent school! Everyone is so friendly and there's always someone new to meet who's coming from a different part of the world. It's calm and peaceful and the scenery on campus is just amazing! I can focus on my studies a lot more and I always get help and support from my professors.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs Are Not Tolerated – Because this is a religiously based school, many people are far more spiritual and know better than to defile their bodies in such horrible ways. There may be a few cases where a student or group of students would go to a party or go get drunk somewhere, but they can easily be expelled if caught with any type of drug on them.

Health & Safety: Totally Safe – I can't say that I've ever not felt safe, but that's mainly because I'm always with a friend. Whenever I am not with anyone, I would probably still feel safe and know that I am protected. I do have to keep my dorm room locked. There have been many cases about theft. Not too happy about that.
