Parking: There's rarely a time when you can't get a pretty good parking spot. The only problem is when the school hosts some large events the parking will fill up for the event and students are out of luck.

Off-Campus Housing: Most of Anderson University students live on campus. I am basing my grade on word of mouth of other students.

Diversity: There are all kind of races and denominations at AU, the leading percentage is caucasian and southern baptist. As a result, most of the activities, events, and style of classes and chapel mostly reflect this percentage of the schools body.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at AU is not noticeable. The only time I really heard of drug usage was twice. As far as drinking, I hear about it, but it is always done off campus. I have never seen smoking, although I'm pretty sure some students do. Maybe it depends on the people you hang out with, but as far as me I only mostly hear about drug use.

Majors: I am a biology major at Anderson, and I have really enjoyed it so far. The professors in the program are wonderful and very willing to help students in any way possible. Since the department is so small, scheduling can be an issue at times, but the class size is small and I find that very helpful.

Computers: The availability of computers is usually not a problem, but there are times when it can be hard to find a computer. Sometimes teachers reserve the main computer lab so students have to go to the old one where the computers are much slower. A big problem is the printers. You never know if the printer will work from one day to the next. I would advise students to have a personal laptop.

Drug Safety: Drug and alcohol usage is not an obvious issue at Anderson University. There are those who participate in these things, but it is very dependent on who you chose as friends. It is very easy to avoid trouble at this school.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Anderson has a high acceptance rate. The student body is not very diverse, a large majority of the students are white and there are more females than males. Of course, being a baptist university there is a religious vibe throughout the campus.

Weather: The weather in Anderson, South Carolina is hot and humid in the summer and has frigid winters. Some days will reach the 90s in the summer and can get down in the 20s in the winter.

Facilities: After seeing Anderson University, I can say that the school itself is very nice and the campus grounds are very well kept. The town it is in in very small and will give anybody a "home" kind of feeling.

Parking: Because Anderson has a small campus, parking is close to the dorms and classes, however there isn't nearly enough! It's so hard to find a spot other than the ones in the very back parking lot, I can't imagine what it's like for commuters.

Diversity: Anderson University has a very high acceptance rate. The majority of the students are Caucasian, but there are also African-American and Asian-American students. There are also a good bit of students from other countries, that come to AU mainly to plan sports. Even though it is a Christian university affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, there are a variety of religious backgrounds, including those that do not believe in God at all. Political beliefs also vary, but the majority are conservative. There are also a handful of students on the campus of around 3,000 that are homosexual. Through all the differences, the campus runs very smoothly and no one is ostracized.

Campus Housing: The female dorms at Anderson vary. There are new ones, but there also 100 year old ones. They stay clean with the help of the great custodial workers at AU. The really new dorms (and single rooms) cost extra at Anderson, but it is worth it if you like your own privacy. The social atmosphere is great at Anderson! There are also events being held in the residence halls in order for students to get to know who they are living with. It is very convenient to live on a small campus, and not have to drive to class. The longest walk to one of my classes my first two years was about 8 minutes, which is not bad at all!

Campus Strictness: Alcohol and drugs are not allowed on campus, which is also a smoke-free area. We are also only allowed to have members of the opposite sex in our rooms from 7-11pm everyday except Sunday and Wednesday. The door is required to stay open, with the light on, and our feet on the floor at all times. RA's do rounds to check approximately every hour. Since Anderson is a Christian school, they try to prevent the students from putting themselves in certain positions, at least on campus. I am very satisfied with these regulations. I am glad my roommates don't have guys over until the wee hours of the morning. It makes me feel safe, and not have to worry about my own privacy.

Weather: The weather at Anderson is very nice the majority of the time. It rains often, but since it is a small campus, I never get extremely wet going to and coming from classes.

Majors: I enjoyed all the music education and music courses that I took when I was at Anderson University. All the faculty worked together to make sure they were giving the best education possible to each student. I am very glad that I choose Anderson University as my school for my undergraduate degree.

Computers: Some of the equipment in the general population lab is old. The key boards are worn and the monitors are blurry.

Campus Strictness: AU is a Christian college. The rules help to strengthen our commitment to our beliefs.

Campus Strictness: Not as strict as Bob Jones, but they do have rules that help keep students safe. There is no drinking on campus, and boys and girls can go into each others dorms only during certain times of the day.

Greek Life: There are not fraternities or sororities at Anderson, but there are other organizations to join.

Facilities: Students really love going to school here. The programs are great. It is a smaller class size so there is a lot of help from the teachers. The teachers are approachable. It is a more expensive school, but it is worth it.

Guys & Girls: There is a higher female to male ratio, but this doesn't seem to be a problem.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: There are a substantial amount of sports and each one is well equipped.

Scholarships: I did receive a decent amount of financial aid, but it was still not enough. It is not easy to find the money you are missing when the college only sees what your parents make yearly and decide it is enough that they can pay for a certain amount; which is not always correct. It is best to talk to financial aid in person because they do not get back to emails quickly.
