4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Athletics are super popular on campus, they are always attended and always supported.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There is nothing really in Anderson, but if you want something to do, you'll be able to find it.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The university is reasonable, but not too strict. They have rules that are reasonable enough for people to follow for the safety and well being of others.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is nothing super diverse, but when there are international students and students of other ethnicities they are welcomed with open arms.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: It is a small town, but there is adequate shopping and attractions.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: There's is some, but as a whole the campus isn't diverse.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: It isn't allowed, so people have to sneak it.

4 College Senior

Athletics: Basketball games are a big deal at AU...our girls and guys teams are pretty good. The student section is always full and we have cheers and chants that we yell during each game that everyone knows. Soccer is the next biggest sport- again our guys and girls are pretty good. They both have one titles in the past few years. Intramurals are a really big deal and super competitive. We have intramural flag football, powderpuff football, ultimate frisbee, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and so many more.

Academics: I am a psychology major and it is pretty difficult. Writing quality and knowledge of APA formatting is crucial. The department head and most professors have really high expectations. It's not really a major that you can slack off with. I enjoy the curriculum because I enjoy learning about the mind, people's behavior, and human development. My internship was awesome. You get to choose your internship site based on what you would like to do after you graduate. It is a great opportunity to help you ensure, or help you decide what your next step after graduation is.

Off-Campus Dining: Anderson is big enough where there are pretty much every type of cuisine you could want- American cheeseburgers and steaks, but also many nice and unique Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Italian, and Mexican restaurants. There is a great mix of nice fast food places, and also nice sit down restaurants as well.

Transportation: This is the first year with a campus shuttle. There are two and they will pick anyone up who is walking around campus and looks like they need a lift. Very friendly drivers, always there to help you out.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Basketball is the most popular sport on campus, but primarily because it's during the week and that is the only time that students are on campus. The gym is open only a few hours a day, certain days a week. This is extremely inconvenient for students because the hours are in the middle of the day, when most students are going to class.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It's a typical small southern city. Not much nightlife, except for the one strip downtown with bars that close pretty early compared to other towns. Greenville is not a far drive, about an hour. You can go there for concerts, shopping, and better dining. Anderson itself does not seem safe to me, there are quite often incidents of theft on campus and most certainly around the city.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I freak out a little bit every time I have been in the campus safety office. Things are very disorganized and most of the time the "officers" are eating.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Aramark dining services does a bad job at providing food for vegetarians (other than the salad bar). Nothing on campus is organic, even the healthy foods are not healthy if you read the descriptions provided. The quality is pretty bad. The three dining halls quit serving food at 7 and two of them stay open for purchases until 8 pm.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: There is one lab on campus with maybe 35 computers. It gets crowded towards the end of the semester. The library has about 10 computers, so a laptop is probably needed for school. However, the school does supply every student with an ipad, but they aren't much use when it comes to schoolwork and tend to be used as entertainment devices during the classes.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It's quite cold in the winters, but it is mostly sunny outside.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The classes aren't too bad, the campus life can be good if you are very involved with the Christian scene. Yet, everyone goes home on the weekend and in a small town like Anderson, there isn't much to do.

2 College Sophomore

Diversity: Though there are a decent number of international students on campus, most of the students on campus are typical southern baptists whose parents make a good living and send them to school with lots of money. Except for the theater department, where there is a very diverse group of students. Everyone else on campus is pretty cookie-cutter like.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: The campus gym is open about 4 hours a day and only some days, during the middle of the day making it extremely inconvenient for students as they are in classes during the gym hours. However, the library is very nice and spacious, with plenty of tables allowing students to disappear and study in a quiet area. There are about 10 computers total in the library and there is a computer lab downstairs next to the coffee shop, allowing students more room to work.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: The buildings are quite old and most the time very cold. The campus life revolves around Christianity clubs. If you aren't in to the Christianity scene, you most defiantly do not fit in and you are most unwelcome.

3 College Senior

Parking: Expensive permits and people still park illegally.

3 College Senior

Diversity: All students come from different walks of life.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are some nice options at convenient prices.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Waffle House and Cookout are top late-night spots.
