4 College Freshman

Majors: I had to audition to make it into the Theatre program. I made it and received a scholarship. I think this required audition is important because it ensures that only students with potential will be in the program.

Weather: The weather at Anderson can be random. It's often freezing cold one day and hot the next. But the weather overall is great as long as you are willing to adjust daily.

Campus Housing: I live in one of the oldest dorms on campus--Pratt Hall. There are inconveniences such as really old worn out bathrooms and lack of electric outlets, but overall the dorms are very livable. Some people complain about the strictness of RSVP hours (times where guys can come to girls rooms), but I appreciate the rules. They keep us accountable.

Health & Safety: There are a lot of reported crimes and suspicious persons that we hear about. Campus Safety does their best to eliminate danger, but I do admit that I wish I felt safer on campus. The Trojan Transit does help any students that need a ride to and from their cars any time before 11.

Local Atmosphere: Clemson University is less than an hour away, so it's easy to go see friends there and hang out in their college town. Anderson has a small downtown that is less than 5 minutes from campus, which is fun to explore. Clemson Boulevard is a large street near campus with just about anything you could want to eat.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: You are not allowed to live off campus until after your sophomore year, and as a current sophomore I have not yet had any experience with off campus housing.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: The computer labs are pretty average, printing is fine and is never a huge problem. The wifi can be pretty slow at times. If you are a graphic design student a macbook will be required.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: Anderson University does not have any Greek life or fraternities/sororities.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: There is a wide array of weather in the Anderson County area. We were hit with a good bit of snow in January and February, but that is pretty rare. It's usually very nice and sunny.

Transportation: The campus shuttle (called the "Trojan Transit"), is a great way to get around campus in great timing. It runs 24/7, no charge, and there are multiple shuttles on rotation, so there is never a long wait to get where you need to go.

3 College Junior

Transportation: It's good for going to the athletic campus but it would be nice to have a bus to take people off campus too

Majors: If I could do it over again I think I would. I just wish I had more classes focused on specifically art education and not general ed

3 College Junior

Majors: It was hard getting into the education department but I made it

College Junior

Academics: There is a mug of excellent and not so great professors

College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't looked into it so I don't know but there is a lot of housing close to campus.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I wish they offered more.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The town is small but there's a lot on Clemson boulevard.

College Junior

Drug Safety: I don't do these things or surround myself with people who so so I wouldn't know.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: RSVP can be a little tedious at times.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: I don't party so I wouldn't know

Athletics: The gym at our school isn't the best. A lot of the times the treadmills are out of order and only two work properly. The student involvement is high in sports though as well as the school spirit at games and events.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Anderson is very historic and the town is small. They have some pretty decent restaurants and they have various festivals during different months. There isn't really a lot of shops around but Anderson is located around various large towns and cities.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Our campus safety officers are very polite and they are there for you if you need them. They always send out warning emails if something suspicious is going on. They also inform us if something happens at nearby universities.

4 College Senior

Academics: The professors are great here…they're always available during their office hours, they're easy to talk to, and most of them work with you if you have a problem arise where you have to be absent. We have a lot of different majors to choose from at AU, as well. Registering for classes is kinda stressful, but inevitable. You'll know how to do it once they teach you. Sometimes its scary not knowing if you're going to get into a class, but it always works out.
