3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Upperclassmen get the priorities in the nicer housing options. It seems like Freshmen are assigned to the housing that the upperclassmen wouldn't pick.

Parking: There is NEVER a parking spot near my dorm and I ALWAYS have to walk by myself in the cold all the way from the intramural field to my building and it is very frustrating. It's a good ten minute walk and if this school were to renovate anything, the parking needs to be the first thing.

1 College Freshman

Facilities: There really isn't anything to do at this school. Occasionally there will be a sports event or something of the like, but if we really want to do any thing fun around here we have to come up with the ideas and resources ourselves.

1 College Freshman

Facilities: There really isn't anything to do around this campus, unless you are an athlete or involved in some other "society". The theater program does well and puts on great performances, but it really seems that this school doesn't make that much effort to ensure we are actually enjoying ourselves at this school.

Campus Dining: The eating is average here. The best one is the one in Merrit. It's all home cooked style food, though it isn't always phenomenal. There are two other eateries on this campus, the Grille which is just burgers and fries and the like which is merely okay, but not a suggested daily place to eat. My least favorite is Food For Thought because the pizza is often sitting there for a while and the other items are just subpar. I really wish the dining places would be open longer hours, because not every student has time to eat during the 2 hour slots that they are open and that's not fair to them.

Athletics: Soccer is king at AU. Lots of school spirit here. There is no football.

Scholarships: AU is very generous with scholarships. It has been named a "best value" in private schools. In addition to academic and athletic scholarships, there are also in state and out of state grants. There are also many on campus job opportunities to help pay for school. Hours are flexible. Each semester Department heads review your class schedule before you are assigned to work.

Majors: We have excellent professors at AU. Most are PhD's. In the Criminal Justice department, there are former lawyers and law officers. Just this past week, a man from England spoke to our classes concerning law in the UK.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: We are all required to perform community service. There are all types of programs in which to participate. I have served food, helped to gather canned goods for a local food pantry, and am taking a course to become an emergency responder. The emergency responder class ties in with my major and will help with possible future contacts.

Weather: The weather in upstate South Carolina is probably the nicest weather that anyone could ask for.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The main street is always packed but otherwise easy

4 College Freshman

Weather: Lately the weather has been kind of spastic. However, on many occasions it is nice and sunny outside with a nice cool breeze. This makes it super fun to lie out on the intramural field or on the front lawn, and we definitely have perfect eno weather. All in all, it is usually very nice. And on days it's raining or snowing (rarely ever snows), it's easy to get to class or a meal because everything is close together.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are many apartment possibilities off campus and they are affordable for students.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: The school gives out tons of scholarships but financial aid can be frustrating to work with when you have a question.

Health & Safety: The campus is clean and campus safety does a good job keeping kids safe. There have been some safety incidents on campus but less than a normal public campus.

Campus Strictness: Dormitory visitation rules about the opposite sex are far too strict. The fact that the entire campus is dry and tobacco free also seems to strict to many students. There is extremely limited parking, and the campus safety department is very strict about violating parking rules, therefore it is nearly impossible to avoid a parking violation at some times.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Anderson has fairly decent transportation, and you can get anywhere you really need to go. Campus Security will take you somewhere late at night if it's an emergency, otherwise you can always take the bus or find a friend to give you a ride.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The student body is a close-knit group. It is easy to make a new friend each day. By the end of your first semester, you will recognize everyone's friendly face.

4 College Freshman

Majors: This year AU added even more majors to the extensive list they already had. The new majors are a more in depth study of an "older major". For example, if you are interested in teaching special ed, instead of majoring in education and taking some courses about special ed now you can major in special education.

5 College Freshman

Majors: My "internship" will be student teaching. Anderson starts you out in real classrooms as early as your sophomore year. You have the opportunity to be in many different classroom setting as well as many different schools. Anderson also has the highest rate of education graduates that get jobs in their field.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus and have not been to any of the off campus housing.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The atmosphere is really calm with a lot of restaurants and places to visit nearby

Majors: Meeting the professors in the business program is what made me decide to go to this school. They are all incredibly helpful and friendly. They all have real world experience in their field. This experience plus their desire to see students grow and learn makes the learning environment excellent.

5 College Junior

Academics: The Graphic Design department at Anderson University is outstanding. It is constantly growing and becoming more distinguished each year. The design program is one of the leading and up and coming programs around the area. The AU graphic design program has produced several professional designers who become employed with recognized design agencies all over the U.S, some even before graduation from AU.

Academics: The academics at Anderson University are held to a high standard. Several awards are won each year for the outstanding academics here at AU.
