College Freshman

Scholarships: I did not apply for financial aid; Amherst's aid is entirely need-based (and very good, from what I've been told), but I do not qualify.

5 College Student

Scholarships: I do not have FA but I've heard that it's one of the best.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Don't expect to get a certain amount of financial aid just because your parents annual income falls into a certain category, there are many other variables.

5 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: The scholarships are awarded on a need basis, so if your family demonstrates an economic need, the school will provide as much as your family cannot. There are no merit-based scholarships.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Amherst is a need-blind, full-need institution. I've heard good things from friends about their financial aid, and pretty much everyone is at least satisfied, but it's important to note that the college gives you what you need -- usually no less, and definitely no more. It's still a significant financial burden, but they give out enough aid that anyone CAN pay.
