4 College Junior

Greek Life: I'm in Greek Life, and it's greatly influenced how I have experienced my time at American. Great for getting involved socially, and as a part of the community. Of course the parties are fun, but also just hanging out with sisters at charity events and attending other Greek events is so much fun. Can be really cliquey, and there are definitely stigmas associated with certain sororities and fraternities- but each organization is fairly close and participates in Greek community equally with support.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Have not heard many great things about greek life at AU but some of the service fraternities do really great work.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life at AU is present and prominent, but not to the point of being overbearing and annoying. They sponsor events on campus and throw various parties that are fun to attend. The thing that I appreciate the most about the Greek like at AU is that it is not in your face.

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I'm part of two fraternities on campus and it's been the greatest choice of my life. Everyone loves greek life for both the on campus and off campus activities.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: It's not as big as at other schools, but a great way to find a community

Students interested in Greek life have plenty of options as to which fraternities and sororities to join, although there are no houses for them on campus. Frats and sororities are a good choice for people who feel overwhelmed and want a surefire way to make friends. Students who don’t care about Greek life need not worry, as these groups are entirely possible to ignore.

Many of the students involved in Greek life live on the noisier South Side of campus and are responsible for the rowdy environment there. This makes them easily recognizable for anyone who wants to join in their activities—or anyone who wishes to avoid them.
