3 College Senior

Campus Dining: There aren't many options, and it's pretty expensive.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: Overall, on campus dining is good. The quality of the food is far better than other universities and there is definitely a wide variety of options most of the time. Sometimes the dining hall isn't well stocked if you go during a non peak hour. Late night dining is pretty much nonexistent other than the Subway (which closes at 2am).

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The food is good and the variety is great!

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Some of the food has made me sick, but otherwise its okay.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: TDR has its good and bad days. Freshii seems good until you realize they're always out of half the ingredients and they take at least 25 minutes to get your salad ready. Global Fresh makes everyone sick. Megabytes was infested with rats. Ward Cafe and The Dav are great.

There are several places to eat at on the American University campus. The most popular is TDR (Terrace Dining Room), which is a large cafeteria on AU's main campus. AU's satellite campus also has a smaller cafeteria commonly known as TC (Tenley Café). Both feature vegetarian options, ethnic cuisine, salad and sandwich bars, pizza, pasta, burgers, hot dogs, and featured hot lunches and dinners of the day. And don't forget dessert—there are always unlimited amounts of cookies, cake, ice cream, and frozen yogurt. Most students say that the food is of average quality, with the biggest complaint being that the food is always the same.

There are other options for those seeking variety; AU has a Subway and McDonald's as well as an on-campus convenience store (Eagle’s Nest). The Tavern has several concession stands that offer a wide range of choices including sushi, quesadillas, sandwiches, fries, chicken fingers, etc. For students who do not desire to eat on campus, there are many restaurants in nearby Tenleytown.
