Academic Experience: In my assessment test, I scored at an Honors level for my English Writing, and not much lower for English Reading. During my first academic counseling appointment, my would be English professor happened to peek in, asking about "that student who scored so high in her assessment tests." He took the time to ask why I was enrolling in his class when I qualified for a higher level. When I explained that I hadn't been back in college for over twenty years and wanted to make sure I knew what to do from the ground up, he expressed an interest in ensuring that I would meet my SLOs. Throughout the two semesters I have been here, I have gotten to meet with several English professors, including professors from English Literature and Creative Writing. I am being encouraged to explore the creative writing department and submit work to the alumni literary magazine. I look forward to returning each semester.

Academic Experience: I am back in college for my second semester after over twenty years. I have used many of the services offered to students, including disability services, math tutoring, alternative test locations, professors' office hours, computer labs with their go-print services, and have also enjoyed a few plays at a reduced student cost. Although I have not yet used them, my school offers after hours classes and fast-track classes. The registration and class enrollment process is made easier by the readily available calenders for important dates and deadlines. Classes are offered on a number of days and time-frames, making it easy to group labs with their partner classes, and allowing for a wide variety of options, including online options for when I could not match a class to my schedule.

Facilities: I currently attend one of the remote campuses but often go to the main campus for additional student resources. Every one of my appointments have netted me valuable learning experiences. From the library, in which I have had research appointments and spoken with the research librarians to the counseling centers, math and English tutoring centers, there is always a staff member willing to answer questions, tutor, or help direct me to the correct resource. Being able to study under a tree or in the sum at a table, or be able to use the computer plug-ins and free wi-fi at the student center is fantastic.

Online Courses: I did not have an early enrollment date but wanted to take Sociology 300. So I tried the online class and thoroughly enjoyed it. The instructor was always available for questions and even left an open discussion board so we students could ask and answer each others questions. Knowing our professor was monitoring our posts, we could always depend on him for his insight. Since I have had some unusual life experiences, I often emailed the professor so I could learn how to apply sociology to what I had lived. I love knowing there are studies that verify how I react to what I have been through! Very enjoyable.

Overall Experience: I would choose my school all over again, The interaction with my professors and the class contents are what has made this an enjoyable learning experience.
