Campus Resources: It's Pretty Good – I've for the most part not had too much trouble using the computers at American River College, but you are pretty much on your own if you have any issues. There are sometimes people around to help but not all are very helpful and some are rude like you should already know exactly what to do.

College Student

Tuition & Financial Aid: I dont qualify for financial aid. The classes are very expensive.

Campus Resources: What's unique about American River College is that it has a great program that allows me to work as a full time employee and also as a full time student. The pragram is for accelerated students. I love it because it gives me an opportunity to finish school sooner then a part time student can.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Very Helpful – The financial aid program is very accessible to students. I would expect most schools to create a very intimidating professional attitude towards financial aid, but ARC does a good job of being available to talk to students.

Campus Resources: It's Just an Old School – The facility isn't bad in any way, it's just an older school. Our Cafeteria had to be torn down due to asbestos, but other than that, all of the buildings are fine.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: No Complaints – Every professor I've had has been capable of using and utilizing the computer system, and the system has never crashed, and I've never lost and files as a result of it.

1 College Senior

Student Body: Rude, Entitled, Disrespectful – Students are rude to everyone including instructors, they act like just because they were born, they should not have to work hard, things should just be handed to them. Older students are much more polite and respectful. GO to school here at night if you can.

Academic Experience: RN Program – I am still trying to get into the RN program. 4 attempts and still not drawn in lottery. moving on to CSU, will incur major student loan debt but have no choice if I want my degree.

Campus Resources: American River College has a vast amount of Resources to draw from.
The thing that struck me the most about this school is the attitude of helpfulness. They seem genuinely concerned about your education and you. The resources range from financial, disabilities, helping with registration, to a ride to your car at night. I have enjoyed going to school here.

Campus Resources: Campus Aesthetics – This is a college where you can easily make friends. The staff, and instructors will bend over backwards to help you succeed. There are so many support services available, such as counseling, veteran services, disabled students services, free tutoring, and athletic support services.I have been going here for a few years now, and this school feels like home, very comfortable.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: Peer-To Peer Interaction – I find the on-line classes less personal than the typical classroom where you have more opportunity to meet fellow classmates, and organize study groups. On the other hand, the on-line courses are more self-paced, and allow independent studying at your convenience.

5 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: There is a reentry site where they will help you with everything. There is also a site for general financial aid help. They will help you fill out your fafsa, and your BOG fee waiver.

3 College Freshman

Career Services: Post Grad Services – American River has a great transfer center and also a wonderful career center.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: The Best Online Classes – In my experience, the best online courses are those in which the professor has provided you with access to the entire course right from the start. Even if is not a self paced course, you still hve the opportunity of reviewing upcoming assignments instead of waiting til the last minute.

Overall Experience: Happy With My School – Returning to school after aq 20 year absence I was afraid I wouldn't fit in and also that I would have a hard time completing all of my pre reqs just to be able to apply tho Nursing School. But I was wrong. Every single class I have taken has been loaded with students that are eager to help a fellow classmate whenever possible.

Overall Experience: The Horror of a.R.C. I was going to Sierra and was forced to go to ARC. As soon as I lost my financial aid because I have to many credits/units. So while fighting the horrible appeals process I got bad grades and lost my financial aid for the whole year.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: Don't Lack – I'm getting a little bit of financial aid, it helps when I don't had enough to play tuition. I am getting well value the money I am paying for the education. I am okay with the expensive. I have learn the way it is more important get all financial aid forms in on time. don't want to get the same mistake twice or more. I wish every school would do the different make the fees get better to known.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Glad With School – school is very important to me. I don't have to stay home and stress out not learning anything. I am glad that I'm going back to school I don't have typically college to go but I attended school called American River College. It is small college community. as long as I had diploma with me and pass, I'm so happy to my school learn new experience and with others.

Campus Resources: Social Life Doesn't Really Exist – Everyone seems to not really talk to other people. It's very hard to get to know new people because everyone so very involved in their own world.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Los Rios District – I like that you can jump from one school to another (4 community colleges) in the district.

Campus Resources: Los Rios District – I like that you can jump from one school to another (4 community colleges) in the district.

Campus Resources: ARC is a well known college, and part of the Los Rios colleges. It is the best of the four Los Rios colleges. In California, ARC is considered one of the best community colleges available. ARC has many great majors and degrees offered. I got to experience two majors at ARC: science and business. the science department is very well equipped, and offers varying sciences including biotechnology. ARC also has an amazing culinary program, and includes its own student run restaraunt on campus available by reservations.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Diversity, Diversity, Diversity – I have never seen such a large group of people. Most of the students seem to be returning students who are juggling school with their family, and with work. Most students are very focused on earning their degrees and while there are always a few spoiled apples, the overall environment and feel coming from the students is that of focus and seriousness with their education.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: Unique Classes With Excellent Instructors! My school offers a wide variety of very interesting classes and many of the instructors I have had were excellent and extremely knowledgeable about their topics and were able to really get me involved and interested in the material! There's a class here for everyone.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Counselors Help! Before starting at my college, I had to meet with a counselor to discuss my goals, major, enrollment, etc. I was given one at random, a time to meet and instructions on what to bring, which was very nice. I met her and told her what my goals were, and after a little more discussion, she told me every single course I could take that would fill my general ed. requirements and would transfer to a four year university! I was thrilled that I could take all these classes. She even helped me deal with complications in some of the prerequisites for a couple classes I will have to take. I would be so lost without the help of that counselor! The only problems I've had are availability of classes since I had low priority for selection as a new college student, and money issues, which is a different story.
