Campus Resources: The Library and Student Centers – I am absolutely in love with the library at ARC. Its always quiet and clean and a wonderful place to unwind with a book or study.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The RAD Program – I'm very thankful for the RAD classes that are available. They were helpful and I benefited greatly.

Campus Resources: Very Pleased – I am very pleased with the resources available at ARC. There is always a computer to use, the network is stable and reliable and printing is quick and easy. Never has there been a time I've been upset with using a computer at school or using one of the computers there.

Online Courses: Not Useful – I didn't really see the teacher teaching anything it was really do it yourself and hope you pass. The work load was rather easy and talking to other peers wasn't always something that was beneficial to gaining more knowledge about the course or homework. I've always done better with a classroom experience but I can interact with the teacher.

Career Services: Always Hopeful – Though the IT industry is booming I find that the entry level jobs to get started on your career are hard to obtain with having to relocate with California or you have to B.A. already to get the jobs that are out there and I am not just there yet.

Overall Experience: Overall I like the school and the orgainzations they offer, but I believe the instructors need to be more into the students individually and not as whole as seeing as whole there's someone that always gets left behind. Some don't seem proud to be teaching what they're teaching or as interested as I am about topics about the class. I would have choosen a different school that sounded more reputable.

Overall Experience: American River offers diversity in school staff and student body, they try to make yor school experience a pleasant and successful one.

Academic Flexibility: Lost Classes – I have been extremely frustrated in our school system The lack of classess being offerred to the students which would help them meet the requirements for tranfer or to receive the associates degree on time has been quite inconvient and nerve wrecking.

2 College Senior

Career Services: Excellent Help – Our school staff strives continously to provide excellent service in helping the student body. The counselors are very knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes the service is extremely slow because there are not enough qualified counselors. Overall, I am satisfied with the service I get when I need to see a counselor.

Online Courses: Self-Motivation Is Key – I absolutely love on-line courses. I like doing things at my pace when I want to do it. With on-line courses, this is usually how it works. There is definitely a level of self-motivation that has to kick in for it to work, but I find it's worth not having to take the time to go to class and sit through a lecture. The only time I would argue against on-line courses is if I'm not comfortable with a subject or if the student has a problem with procrastination.

Campus Resources: On Top of It – ARC's computer network is pretty amazing. I am on their web-site almost daily and there are rarely interruptions. When certain sites or pages or down, there is usually advanced notice or it is quickly resolved.

Academic Flexibility: Education for All – From on-line instruction to night classes to accomodations for disabled students, ARC offers classes to suit the needs and wants of every student. With that comes many teachers - all of whom have their own style of teaching, just as we students have our own style of learning. With such flexibility in the class schedules, it's hard to make any excuses for not getting a higher education.

Overall Experience: Mission: School – I am very happy I chose ARC to further my education. In all honesty, it doesn't matter much to me where I go as long as I'm going. However, I don't take for granted the people I have met and experiences I have gained as a student at ARC.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Persistence and Patience – Although my experience with the Financial Aid office has been fairly BLANK, my fiance has had lots of trouble. It's a good idea to check your file as often as possible and call or go in when something's not right. The people who work there are...(gasp!) human - which means there is going to be some human error. Be kind to them, they'll remember you if you have to come in more than once and the last people you want to upset are the people who have control over your money (or your food)!

3 College Senior

Student Body: Question Mark – I am aware that a student body exists at my school. They are very active politically. Unfortunately I am not too interested in politics so I don't pay much attention to what they do. I do admire how active they seem to be.

Overall Experience: Fresh Start – My school is providing me with an education that will serve as the foundation for my future career. I also am able to run for the track and cross country teams, which I really enjoy very much. I am happy with my experience so far and every thing that has happened up to now is making me well prepared for the future.

Academic Flexibility: Parking Issues – I came to American River College as a track and cross-country recruit. I am very thankful for the opportunities it has provided me. For the most part the class schedules work with that of my personal schedule, and I always get all the classes I need for each semester. However my biggest issue is the parking. I understand it is difficult to accommodate all the students cars into the parking lots, but it is such a big hassle to find a spot to park, even in the back. I also think it is ridiculous to charge students such outrageous fees for parking in a lot that can't even hold all of it's students.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have receive my aid and i was able to use it for school. On time and helpful.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Campus Construction – everything is in turmoil right still waiting for construction to be done then can gladly brag about ARC.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Campus Construction – It will be beautiful when it is done but as for now the construction is all over campus and has made a few things hard to get to or use. But everything that is there works like it should.

3 College Senior

Career Services: Not Much Help for Natural Resources – The career center needs to have more to offer for Natural Resource majors.

College Senior

Campus Resources: Student center is being rebuilt. Looks nice so far.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: Limited Classes – Some majors only offer a certain class once a year.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Hard to Login – The computer network works once you're on, but getting on can be difficult. The key word here is PERSISTENCE.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: It's a good college that you can pass general education units in and then transfer to a four- year university.
