Tuition & Financial Aid: Persistence and Patience – Although my experience with the Financial Aid office has been fairly BLANK, my fiance has had lots of trouble. It's a good idea to check your file as often as possible and call or go in when something's not right. The people who work there are...(gasp!) human - which means there is going to be some human error. Be kind to them, they'll remember you if you have to come in more than once and the last people you want to upset are the people who have control over your money (or your food)!

Student Body: Question Mark – I am aware that a student body exists at my school. They are very active politically. Unfortunately I am not too interested in politics so I don't pay much attention to what they do. I do admire how active they seem to be.

Overall Experience: Fresh Start – My school is providing me with an education that will serve as the foundation for my future career. I also am able to run for the track and cross country teams, which I really enjoy very much. I am happy with my experience so far and every thing that has happened up to now is making me well prepared for the future.

Academic Flexibility: Parking Issues – I came to American River College as a track and cross-country recruit. I am very thankful for the opportunities it has provided me. For the most part the class schedules work with that of my personal schedule, and I always get all the classes I need for each semester. However my biggest issue is the parking. I understand it is difficult to accommodate all the students cars into the parking lots, but it is such a big hassle to find a spot to park, even in the back. I also think it is ridiculous to charge students such outrageous fees for parking in a lot that can't even hold all of it's students.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have receive my aid and i was able to use it for school. On time and helpful.

Campus Resources: Campus Construction – everything is in turmoil right still waiting for construction to be done then can gladly brag about ARC.

Campus Resources: Campus Construction – It will be beautiful when it is done but as for now the construction is all over campus and has made a few things hard to get to or use. But everything that is there works like it should.

Career Services: Not Much Help for Natural Resources – The career center needs to have more to offer for Natural Resource majors.

College Senior

Campus Resources: Student center is being rebuilt. Looks nice so far.

Academic Flexibility: Limited Classes – Some majors only offer a certain class once a year.

Campus Resources: Hard to Login – The computer network works once you're on, but getting on can be difficult. The key word here is PERSISTENCE.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: It's a good college that you can pass general education units in and then transfer to a four- year university.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Good for Passing General Education Units – This college is good for transfer students and in my opinion after 60 units you can transfer to a four-year university.

College Junior

Online Courses: I have never taken online classes, because I prefer on campus classes.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: So Far So Good – I havent been going to the school that long yet, I've only finished one semester. However, so far, the classes I took were good and the professors did a good job of presenting and explaining the material in an effective way. I am going back next semester and I look forward to expanding my education and moving forward to get the credits I need in order to transfer.

Student Body: Full Time College Kids – A lot of the people are full time students, going there to get their general education and transfer to a four yer university. There are also many students with children and lots of parents as well who are going back to school to broaden their education and maybe switch careers.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Take Advantage – The education that I have chosen to get will be worth it in the end, & the cost is reasonable. I have gotten very, very, very little financial aid which makes things a little rough sometimes but I am determined to finish out my degree, because I feel that it will make a difference in my life.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Class Registration – Class registration have been fairly easy for me. I have gotten in to almost every class that I need. The curriculum that I have chosen is good & I have had an awesome time with planning my schedule from day to day.

Academic Experience: College Life – I am a psychology major and I have been able to get into all my required classes so far. The pathway that I am required to take is quite simple & to the point, & does not require a lot of unnecessary electives, which is good because I have gotten very, very, very little financial aide. I have really enjoyed going to college here, & I count it an honor to even be able to go to college.

Tuition & Financial Aid: It is true that the tuition for schools are increasing. However, I find it quite unsatisfying when someone receives financial aid when they are not fully committed into going to school. I had applied to receive aid assistance, but I do not qualify due to my parents. They do not claim me as a dependent, but due to certain qualifications (my age and because I am unmarried/no child), I do not receive fafsa because they view me as a dependent. I finally was able to receive a fee waiver. Once. I have been attending there with hopes to continue my education, but it can be very difficult sometimes.

Student Body: There are more than 30,000 students that attend this college. It is filled with many people of different ethnicities, religions, and different home economics. In fact, due to home situations, this institution has provided child care for students attending the college. It also has much diversity in the theatre department which shows that they are very accepting of every person for their talents.

Campus Resources: Printing and Wireless Is Normal – For the most part, printing and computer labs are completely normal like any other campus. If someone needs to print off their essays for classes, you can print one paper for 10 cents. It isn't much, but if a teacher requires you to copy some things, it can add up. However, the insitution itself is not responsible for what some teachers want in their classrooms. The wireless can sometimes go down when so many people are on the network, but it rarely does this. Overall the network is pretty responsive.

Campus Resources: Facilities Are Functional – The facilities at my college campus are fully functional to most students. It can be very difficult in the library to actually get a quiet room to sit and do work because of limited space; however, I imagine it must be difficult in any institution. They have some great places to buy food and it isn't very expensive which makes it functional for students. The theatre building is the most comfortable place with very clean environment and stays that way. The gyms are not bad and they keep a pretty clean environment as well. The only things I would change around the campus is the smoking around campus, which is not enforced.

Overall Experience: Nothing Special – just your ordianry comunity college nothing too intresting

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: A Great Re Entry School for Older Individuals Too. I like my school because it offers such a variety of programs, resources and classes to fit most students needs. Students are able to online classes as well as attending classes on campus.
