5 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: What I enjoy the most is the attention the teachers give to the students. They are also willing to help one out if life happens which sometimes life can throw a curve ball.

College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I would say that when I was receiving financial aid the staff were very helpful to accommodate what I needed and they were also helpful!

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: The teachers are great and very helpful. Most of the teachers are willing to take time with the students and answer questions during class or in office hours. There are plenty of resources available at this school to reach academic goals such as Beacon tutoring or learning better study habits with Reading Across the Disciplines and Writing Across the Curriculum. The only downfall now that they have improved the cafeteria is that they could regulate and improve their counseling staff. After seven years and a handful of counselors, I have only found one counselor that truly cares about the success of the student and is well prepared and versed in what the school has to offer.

Online Courses: should have better lightning at night and the parking ticket machine is out of service often. There seems to be a funny smell also around campus. Bathrooms need to be kept up better and not smell so bad.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Online registration software is ridiculous and you are shut out of classes that are only open to your major because someone set the enrollment number too low (example: I'm in a program that is one of 2 in the state & there are 45 of us in the program but the classes show "closed" during registration because 20 people registered online... when they need to allow all 45 to register since it's a sequenced program.) Very frustrating for no good reason.

Academic Experience: We've had a change in program directors so we are in flux right now. They an't obtain/retain part-time faculty consistently from year to year because of the subject matter and internal politics so we are kind of left to fend for ourselves. There are only 2 programs for this in the state, so it's a "gotcha" environment where they feel they can ram any policy they want down your throat and you have to take it. On the other hand, I've had instructors who are passionate about what they do, they just weren't the best teacher (disorganized, unprepared, not using technology available because they can't find anyone to train them) which is getting old considering we have a year left of this.

Online Courses: I was very used to being in a traditional class, but it is very good to have access to the information you need at any time. I'm always strapped for time since I work full time and go to school. If your learning a new major or trade, I would recommend taking your basic classes first, and then taking the advanced classes. Its very easy to use for general prerequisites though.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: An intro Kinesiology class was mostly hands-on, with some written work. It involved a lot of movement and muscle structure lectures. This major isn't at most community colleges, so I appreciate being able to take in close to home. Most instructors are coaches on campus.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Stats instructor expected us to learn independently and seek out additional help when needed. I like this kind of learning.

Campus Resources: The facilities on campus are amazing, especially compared to other campuses in the Los Rios district. The library has so many computers so they are usually always available. There is also many quiet areas in the library to relax and study comfortably without being bothered. Also the cafeteria was newly remodeled and now contains both a Subway and Starbucks. The nice thing about the Starbucks area is although it is in the cafeteria, it is fairly quiet because it is filled with people studying and sipping coffee just like you would see at a regular coffee shop.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: This community college is the best out of the Los Rios district. The professors really seem to care about their students and the flexible office hours they have really make it easy and convenient for students to talk to professors outside of class about questions or concerns they may have. This school is also outstanding because of the different study options they have. They have this program called Beacon Mentoring and it is were students around campus gather and mentor other students for free. It is a great opportunity to meet with other students and study with them on the topic. The campus also has great facilities in both the library and cafeteria that provide an ideal study environment for students.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I am a psychology major and so far I feel like I have only really had a few classes that relate to my major. Because it is community college, it is expected because most of the classes I am taking are purely general educational classes until I transfer. However, the classes that I am taking or have taken relating to psychology have been very interesting and have furthered my interest in this major. I give it a B because although I am not taking too many psychology classes, the ones I have taken have been outstanding and interesting and I have learned so much more than I expected.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: It has great education programs to help students called RAD and WAC, they have the BEACON tutors to help with English, Anthropology classes, BUsines etc. While they have the MESA lab to help with Math, Engineering and Science majors.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: They have wonderful resources, the online database for research has answers for almost every question out there. There are lots of computers in the library, computer labs and Learning resource Center. They have a great tutoring staff and have very helpful programs to help students in all the classes they are in.

4 College Freshman

Career Services: I got a job on campus, it was really easy and a lot of fun to do though it was only temporary. However, it gave me a pretty god taste on what the working world is like.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The campus is great with a good staff though there are some professors that are a bit hard. It's an older campus that is going under renovations and the new cafeteria is a great spot to hang out, get great food and good coffee.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The classes available are pretty generic. I feel like the classes fill up too quickly so it can take much longer to get through a major than you initially planned. I was a theatre major and the professors are fantastic there.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Sometimes it feels like the professors don't care much about the classes here because they teach at other schools.I think the curriculum is pretty standard and I feel like the professors are knowledgeable about what they are teaching. The class registration process is not the most user friendly.

2 College Sophomore

Student Body: There are a lot of great people going to school here, but there are a lot of students that put up religious posters and anti-abortion signs in the quad and can be very rude to everyone walking by.

4 College Senior

Student Body: Mostly, my school consists of working-class students with full-time/part-time jobs or families. They have many different roles in addition to being a student.

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition at ARC is not horrible but the financial aid officeisnt very helpful i was drop from my classes about five times and the reason being that i had not paid my tuition so i headed to the financial aid office and asked them how come my tuition wasnt paid all they said dont worry its all ok now jst reaply and your tuition should be cover the following day and the same thing happened until i talked to the administration who told me that i was missing a form to prove that i had been in california for more then four years something that the financial aid office did not tell me about

5 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: ARC is a wonderful Community College and I'm proud to be a student.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: I love the dance class that i am in. It is kind of a break from all the studying and i can have fun.

5 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I love the hybird class. The professor is great and i am learning a lot.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: Everything from athletics to aesthetics is amazing on campus. We recieve everything that we need and more. Personally the student center is my favorite.
