College Sophomore

Career Services: The career center seems great, but I have not personally used this resource.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Lots and lots of resources! Free! Need help in math? science? Engineering? Seems to be a free tutoring everywhere! Cant decide a major? career counseling! NEW cafeteria that is wonderful with lots of room inside and out. AWESOME Library with tons of computer, laptops to use, lots of space for studying and cool architectural design.

1 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Just finished the semester with my first 4.0! It really helps to take the right amount of classes for your own self rather than failing while trying to "keep-up" with peers

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I have taken a math course online and the teacher and tutors were available to help me, but I am a more of a hands on in class person.

College Sophomore

Career Services: The only thing I used this resource was to attend a workshop on scholarships.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I am very grateful for the student resources because I was able to pull an "A" in one of the classes! Plus the professors are there for the students and are willing to help the students. The draw back is if the student is willing to reach out for help!

College Sophomore

Student Body: I will be getting involved with the student government this semester because I will be starting an inactive club on campus!

College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I am only taking general education requirements for transferring to a four year university.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Their web site is extremely easy to manouver around. Registering for classes was a breeze but patience is a virtue when the wait list is involved.

College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My "returning" semester starts on the sixth. Until then, I'll have to wait and see how much I remember. Life is constantly moving at a rate that I can't seem to slow down. Hopefully, being in school will be just as fast!

Campus Resources: I say B+ because there are times when it is very hard to get online. I know it's due to the overwhelming number of students and facility, but I think they could do better. Also, they do not have a very secure system. The minute you access their Wi-Fi, you are told that you are not on a secured system.

4 College Senior

Student Body: I really haven't had much interaction with the current student body, but from what I have heard from others they are good.
ARC is a very diverse campus and they strive to make sure all nationalities, disabled, those of different sexual preferences are treated equally. No one is judged or discriminated against because they are different.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: The library is very resourceful. If they don't have a book that you need, they will find it and have it brought over from another college in their district at no cost.
The new student resource center is awesome. They have study programs with tutors going on at all hours free of charge and always, there is a quiet place to study.

Academic Flexibility: So far, everyone I have talked to has been very helpful and supportive. I was almost ready to give up on my math120 class this last semester and with the encouragement, help and support from my professor and classmates, I actually pulled a B out of the class for my final grade.
I won't say that I didn't have a professor that frustrated me before, but in the end his teachings also made me a better student and better writer.

4 College Junior

Career Services: The career center always seems to be advertising themselves. They really want to help. It is an excellent networking source.

3 College Student

Career Services: I have not yet graduated nor transfer to a different school but from what I see, those who attend the career services at American River College has had success finding a job. The reason why many students were able to find jobs were because American River College has professors who well very experienced in their field and they also have hands on training which makes their teaching really good because they know what they are talking about. They will help you understand in a much more easy and very effective way.

2 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I wasn't able to understand some of the topics fully because the book didn't make sense to me. At that point I think I needed face to face interaction with a professor.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: The student body have alot of events like Universities coming to visit & multicultural day, music events, art events, club events. Many students have jobs & are attending college at the same time. The college has its diversity in all of the clubs we have on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Well I love how they have so many possibilities of different classes to take.
American River College is impacted so many students are there just trying to get there degree & transfer. Sometimes I get lost because I feel like a fish in the ocean. The class sizes are about 20 people per class after students drop if they don't like the class. I can actually talk to my professor & they know who I am. Some professors don't have you buy the book. Others have you buy it but its for the entire year long if you continue with them. I enjoy the events going on by the student government. This college actually knows what their doing to help out their students I really appreciate it.

2 College Sophomore

Student Body: Most students are grungy and sloppy but there are good people also. Its like your back at high school

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: Hard to get counsler apps. but if you take the time to wait you will get the help you need.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: There are great classes with teachers who know what they are doing. Paralegal classes are not offered at many colleges so this is a great place.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Good classes, most professers are interactive and keep you on track.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is pretty high and just keeps growing. Books are becoming more expensive with every higher class, and the food is expensive. Financial Aid doesn't pay enough to be able to support myself and pay for daily living while in college.

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: The classes are great and the priority registration I have is just awesome, for it let me register for classes way before everyone else. I had all my classes enrolled before registration opened for other people.
