Student Body: My school is very unique with sudents from all different walks of life. I love the diversity! It's very encouraging to see people juggling full time jobs or families while pursuing their education. It is very clear that everyone enrolled truly wants to be there and is working very hard to succeed.

College Sophomore

Campus Resources: the administration and faculty members have been very cordial and helpful.

College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I'm slated to begin class on Monday February 4, 2013.

Overall Experience: I have attended American Military University for eighteen months. I am currently enrolled in the Transportation and Logistics Program. I will graduate by June, 2013. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at AMU and would recommend the school. I was leery at first but have been impressed by the professors real world experience and knowledge in the field. I recieved my Associates Degree from a traditional college and detested attending classes with a bunch of 18 yoa kids who caused non-stop distractions. AMU gave me the opportunity to study when I had the time. My only caution is if you are not disciplined, do not waste your time. The paper writing is non-stop and classes move at a fast pace. If you work hard success will come. The only reason I gave them a B is I went through hell with financial aid. They do not have enough staff to help students just before classes start. I almost passed up AMU for that very reason. Overall it has been a good experience and I recommend this school!

Online Courses: Taking online classes requires self-motivation and good time management. All the time normally spent in the classroom is spent reading the materials. Some classes require a great deal of reading to prepare for class discussions and/or projects. If you do not learn well by reading the material, it may take some time to adjust, and YouTube videos may help.

Student Body: Most of the students at APU are working adults who have decided to go back to school to earn their degrees. They are very dedicated and kind to new students like myself. Their age maturity shows in their wisdom and helpfulness to other students.

Campus Resources: so far everything i could possibly need for resources is available to me

Tuition & Financial Aid: APUS is extremely affordable, as far as typical college tuition is concerned. During undergraduate courses, books and materials are included .The financial aid process is easy and very well laid out. AS well, there are always friendly and helpful people to assist if there is ever a question.

Online Courses: I was excited and nervous about going back to school. The convenience of online really allows me to balance my work, family and school life effectively and efficiently. I use that time I would have spent driving to classes to accomplish goals and tasks for school and family. Let's face it, I also save money with online courses! No driving and coure materials being included for undergrads really makes economic sense! Applying for financial aid and getting set up for classes was easier than I expected and any time I have had a question, APUS staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
It is also wonderful to be interacting with other tudents who are both like minded or of differing opinion. Exploring ideas, both similar and different to my own, is part of the learning process that I enjoy. The students have always been courteous and professional when proposing differing opinions and I have learned so much through this type of interaction. The professors are great at both guiding the class and letting us explore each topic. Also, my professors have been very open to questions and eager to help, as well as being extremely knowledgeable about the course topics and informtion.
I truly enjoy APUS and feel it is a great fit for me. However, since my major is in Science... I am thinking of looking for a school that I can participate in both online and on ground courses, especially for lab.

Academic Experience: Curriculum has been very challenging. You are responsible for your work. Period.

Campus Resources: I am only familiar with the online portion and thus far it has been a good experience.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Campus resources include the Sakai classroom and the APUS library (which is not the best in my opinion).

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Registration process is very easy, administration and fin aid representatives are quick in helping with questions and classes are well organized with most instructors doing a great job in assisting the students.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The campus has resources for research and for submitting papers.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I recently requested an extension, which is common practice due to the 8 week classes, and was denied for no reason. This is the first time this has happened to me. I appealed and was told no again. Very disappointed with the University about this. However, I have stayed enrolled and will continue to pursue my education with them in hopes that this never happens again.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The school was very helpful when I was requesting information for financial aid. I had no problems filing for it and received what I needed. The school's price is better then a regular university for the same degree.

Campus Resources: Acess to the school website is for the most part very reliable. I don't go to a campus as the school is 100% on line, and the campus is not close to me. I can't say what there facilities are like.

Academic Flexibility: I like it because its online. I am currently deployed right now and it is easier to access from a computer. I love going to this school.

Career Services: the job system is mainly based on campus selection.

Campus Resources: We have many military people that are able to bring a lot to conversations with personal experience. Most people have said how much they appreciate the school and professors being very flexible with real life situations.

Online Courses: I was very nervous taking courses online in the beginning, however it has worked out great for me and my schedule! I have been able to make my own schedule for the most part and I enjoy being able to access my work so easily online.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: There is plenty of flexibility in the classroom. With flexibility comes responsibility. It is important to keep up with the daily readings and discussions as they are part of the classroom activity and interactions.

4 College Junior

Student Body: The typical student enrolled in the University consists of people with families and full-time jobs. There is a diversity among the faculty, staff, and student body. Most of your peers are willing to help you with notes or suggestions in how to better improve your assignments. Everyone is respectful of others opinions and work together to make the classroom an effective environment.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The Financial Aid process was a breeze. I was always able to check online what documents were needed and it was always easy to call and speak with a Financial Aid Counselor. Best experience I have had with a college!

Academic Flexibility: Calling the school is very easy and the staff is great! My teachers are very easy to get into contact with and have always been understanding. I am able to live life while taking classes.
