5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I recieve tuition assistance through the military. I haven't paid a dime for any of my classes. The financial aid office really helps me get the TA in order, as well as FAFSA.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: I was concerned with taking online courses because most say that they're harder than actually attending school. With proper focus, the classes are a breeze and the professors really work well with my constantly changing military schedule.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I just wish they had more financial options that would help me to further my education. Overall the tuition is very reasonable compared to other instutitions in the area.

Online Courses: Taking online courses has been easy and I have learned a lot. It makes it convenient to be able to work around a flexible schedule and not have to commute to class. The accessibility to the class is easy from anywhere and makes learning and submitting work really easy. Online courses are great.

Academic Experience: Nothing beats a traditional in-school education but this university does a good job of getting as close as possible. The academics are there for the student but it is up to the student to decide what to do with it.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: It helps a lot that many of my fellow classmates have the same major as I do. We usually take the same classes so we are able to learn more from each other. There is a mutual respect between students, even when we have differing opinions.

Campus Resources: I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were innovative labs made available for students. There is no way to completely substitute hands on lab work but they make good use of virtual technology. Other than that, the school facilities allow easy access to teachers and fellow students. This makes asking questions very easy.

Campus Resources: I have been to CSULB and another college but I feel that APUS is perfectly in the middle. It has the convenience of an online school and has classes that are relevant for the student. I feel that this school has given me both freedom and support in achieving my life goals.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am currently paying for my own tuition and I believe that at American Public University the prices are fair. It costs similar to a Cal State per class but the amount of classes available do not even compare. My only problem was that they recently implemented a technology fee of $50. Each class is $800 now and classes with is $1050. I still believe that this is a fair price but I hope they do not increase it even further.

Academic Flexibility: I honestly believe that APUS has given me the opportunity to study and work at the same time. It has shown me that I need to work hard to keep up with my goals. It also helps that they are regionally credited because the school that I wish to attend for my doctorate recognizes their credibility. I believe that it is a good school for those with a good work ethic.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: We each must log in to what we used to call a bulletin board system and review each other's work each week. The instructors then rate our postings and our interaction with one another.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Professors include actual practitioners, rather than just academicians. This allows for a better match between real world and what we are learning.

5 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Online school has been so much more convenient for me than a traditional classroom. I went to school at a major university for about a year, and while I loved attending classes, it was so much trouble to maje time for work and my family. Going to AMU is the way to finish college if you need the convenience of a flexible schedule.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have really enjoyed AMU. The hardest part of attending online college is the "Virtual Financial Aid". Following the steps to receive aid and set up loans gets quite confusing though... The education provided is well worth the minor struggles any student comes across. I do agree with many of my peers comments that the scool should explain there fees in more detail.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education is worth the money and the money is not alot. the financial aid i recieve always leaves some over for me to supplement my housing expenses

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: My school consists of working, mostly military personnel. They have families and most of them are trying to prepare to leave the military.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The classes are easy to register for, help is always available through the phone service. Excellant teachers. The system changes often which causes some issues but the flexibility makes it worth it.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education for the cost is AWESOME! The financial aide office is very helpful and is great at explaining the options and the true cost of loans.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The campus library is the most flexible and complete I have ever experienced. Being able to look for books specifically or by subjects has been great. The library also refers you to sites on the web that contain useful information on the subject you are looking for.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I am unable to speak about the on campus printing because I attend through online only, however the network reliability and the helpfulness of the IT department is superb. I have only twice in three years had difficulty accessing the classroom and the IT department was able to help me solve the problem within about 30 minutes. The security and reliability of the schools network is awesome.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I attend this school 100% on-line. Even though this is how I go to school I communicate with classmates and instructors on-line, when there is a classmate who lives close enough we attempt to get together at a coffee shop. This school helps me to stay organized and manage my time as I also work full time and am a mom of 4.

2 College Junior

Student Body: I'm in the United States Army, Florida National Guard Bco 2ed of the 124th INF. I am going through the medical review board for an injury I sustained in the line of duty. So I really don't have time to study like I should.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: If you can navigate the main part of the website, then you will be able to find the resources for students just fine.

2 College Student

Campus Resources: I extremely dislike the online library. The search engine is not like your everyday Google.com. You must be very descriptive of your article or book to be able to find it. But how do you really know what that book is called unless it is either recommended or you found it using the public information search.

5 College Student

Academic Flexibility: I am currently in a class that has ZERO due dates. The only date you must have your work in by is the course end date. All posts, forum responses, and tests are due the last day of class. This helps me by me having some busy weeks and some laid back weeks.
