4 College Freshman

Online Courses: Registering for classes is easy to do, but there are times when the workload can be a bit overwhelming especially when there is a written assignment on top of discussion forums and quizzes.

Academic Flexibility: I received my very first ever in life zero in one of my classes one week because the teacher did not like the topic that I spoke on, and I did not correctly cite a sentence that I borrowed from someone else's work. It was my first time ever using Chicago Manual format to cite anything, I was not given the chance to edit that which was turned in early, and I was given a warning for it.

Overall Experience: My teachers respond to me quickly, most I can contact at home, and I love the fact that student services get back to me within a couple hours usually. However, I had lots of paperwork that I had to continually fill out and send in to financial aid, and they even messed up my financial aid for my first two classes of my first semester.

Career Services: The classes may not be as cheap as a traditional school to attend, but they are the cheapest online. That is a big plus because I have to work and take care of a teenage daughter alone, and actually sitting in any class was not a good option for me.

Overall Experience: Online school is great but nothing beats a brick and mortar school where you can contact your teachers and peers personally and on a set schedule.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Thank goodness I receive Tuition Assistance or I could not possibly afford taking a single class at this school. So far the classes have been worth it but online school is just so expensive.

Academic Flexibility: Simply entering the schools attended, matched with an uploaded transcript release form, will supply them with the information they need to collect your transcripts for you, free of charge. The exception, CLEP/DANTES test will have to be coordinated yourself. It is just a lot of waiting for them to receive them and process the credits.

Academic Experience: I am majoring in Transportation and Logistics Management and the professors seem incredibly knowledgeable and qualified to be teaching such aspects. The curriculum is directly related to the goals of the course.

Academic Experience: Because the classes are online, the flexibility is amazing. The professors that open up the assignments early give ample time to prepare for the upcoming assignments. The class sizes are relatively small and the environment is definitely friendly.

College Junior

Campus Resources: As they are an online university, they do not provide these things. A personal computer is an absolute requirement.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: I like the programs that are offered. The online classes seem pretty simple to navigate through.

College Junior

Career Services: I don't intend attending this college long.

College Junior

Campus Resources: I don't attend on campus. I'm an online student.

Tuition & Financial Aid: For a tradtional school it can be very costly and time consuming, but at APUS it does not cost an arm and leg to get your degree. For example, I am getting my Bacholer's Degree for around $30,000; which is about one year at a tradtional college. I find that the financial aid workers are intelligent and friendly; they help you find money and make the smartest decision about each step. The education is wonderful and the price makes the school even better. I am glad to have chosen this school because of how helpful the office staff is and how great the classes are.

Online Courses: Personally, I perfer the online classes because I do not have to worry about a set time for class or a set day. APUS's classrooms are very easy to work with and if you have any questions the teacher is willing to help as best as possible. Registering for classes is a simple process, all you have to do is choose what class(es) you are taking and choose a teacher and start date. I love that they have an email area in each classroom; you can email a classmate, the whole class or just the teacher. It is so each to work with your classmates in the forum section.

Student Body: The people I have met through classes are all different. Some of them are current military memebers, others are retired. There are even some people that have no personal military background. All of them have jobs and lifes that require school to be flexible. I find that the people you meet through classes are very friendly and easy to get along with even if you disagree on a point in the class. Personally, I could not ask for a better group of people to go to class with.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Although my financial aid will end after four classes, I can continue my degree path because of the excellent tuition fees. My fees include e-books which will help in curbing my personal expenses to fund my education.

Campus Resources: Network reliability has been good thus far. However, we must understand that our professors have no control over the network system.

Campus Resources: Since I am an online student, I find the best resource is the library. Whether online or via phone/email, I can get help if need be.

Academic Flexibility: My new school is very fair in regards to transfer of credits. The admission advisor is always up front and lets you know that the pre-evaluation is just that. Credits are reviewed, and they would rather give a lower amount of credits that could transfer in, but in reality, it could be more, once official evaluation has been completed. Forms to start transfer credit evaluation is very simple, and if you still need assistance, the advisor will walk you through, step by step.

I am very excited to start my journey with APU!

Campus Resources: There were two reasons I chose APUS. First, the cost. I could afford it without having to take out student loans. Second, they had the undergraduate and graduate level courses of study I was interested in. Lastly, from the admission process through to actually taking courses it has been simple. (Which is not to say that the courses are easy, only that you know what is expected of you and what must be done to get good grades.)

5 College Senior

Online Courses: I love the online courses at APUS. It's really easy to line things up around my schedule. It is very different from traditional classrooms though. You really have to stay on the ball and avoid getting behind. The responsibility to be involved is entirely on the student. And because involvement/ participation is a part of your grade, it's important to deliberately do so.

5 College Senior

Student Body: The most typical trait of the students at this school is military or government affiliation of some sort. Other than that there isn't really a unifying trait. The students are very diverse.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: This school really understands how busy the majority of it's students are. The key for utilizing this, is to plan ahead and just keep professors informed of possible issues. They are very understanding and they will work with you if you work with them.

College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I start classes in November, so I will not know until then.
