Tuition & Financial Aid: I understand the level of dedication and hard work that must be given by the students however, for someone who is not from the country, the tuition is really expensive and sometime is a headache indeed.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition here is a LOT. At the beginning I felt like I should of just went to a normal university, but truth of the matter is this school offers majors in our passions and BFA's which means we get to get a degree and no other school offers that. We learn so much that you have no choice but to Be prepared when you step out into the world and get ready to audition and land parts. So yes this education is worth it. The financial aid people are ready to help to. No one here wants to see anyone have to put there dreams on hold because of money.

Campus Resources: We don't have sports, but we do have a lot of clubs that you may be interested in. Everything from body classes in the morning like yoga, and conditioning, to dance classes that students lead etc. I love the fact that I as a student can request reaching my own class if I want to. Our library is pretty amazing. It holds all kinds of plays, and music for musical theatre students. All in all minus a few minute flaws our campus flows pretty nicely and you can find pretty much everything you need here.

Campus Resources: The fact that this is a performing arts school is amazing. You don't feel afraid to be different here because we're all artist. Everyone is accepting. The campus life isn't so bad. The piazza is my favorite. Being in sunny L.A. It's nice to be able to sit out there and study and what not. I love the fact that your teachers are probably going to be the ones to give you your first jobs, so it's wise to aim to be a great student. You never know who your teacher knows.

Campus Resources: The computer labs and networks aren't too bad. They definitely work about 90% of the time. The printer is used a lot so it's best not to wait the day of to print something because odds are it won't work. The wifi in the dorms are horrible. Which is why it gets an A-.

Academic Experience: The professors are great. The curriculum is well put together. The class registration process is fine as long as you start early looking into your options and requirements. The workload is manageable as long as you actually do the work and do not wait till the last minute. There are also always rooms open for studying and practicing all things like piano, dance, voice, and acting.

Academic Experience: The classes are medium to small sized, so no matter what classes you get, you still feel like you are getting a valuable one-on-one session. Each instructor here is still working in the business, so they have nothing but relevant information and training to give you. I love how much knowledge I am gaining and this is just my first semester.

Academic Experience: The Musical Theater program is such a rigorous but rewarding program. The faculty is a blessing to work with. They are talented and treat you as colleagues, not as students. They also have so many great things to pass onto you and care about you as a person, not just if you pass or fail. The program is intense. Courses include acting, musical theater, voice lessons, four dance classes, voice and speech, and film lab. Rehearsal and studying outside the classroom is essential. What you get out of it is what you put into it. It is also a great thing to watch how others improve over the semester.

Campus Resources: The resources here are excellent. The student library is available to all students, staff, and alumni. There are thousands of songs in their database that you can purchase for $1; perfect for last minute auditions! There is also a large directory of play scripts, musical librettos, movies, and soundtracks. Printers are available for up to ten pages free, and the copy machine is right down the hallway for five cents a copy. The library often provides free or discounted tickets, which is posted on the bulletin board, which is great to take advantage of.

Student Body: The students are here because they know exactly what they want. They therefore tend to be more dedicated and focused. However, there are some students who you can tell do not want to put the work in, which gets frustrated, especially for scene partners and group rehearsals. This makes you wonder why they are at this school and why are they bringing down everyone else.

Campus Resources: My school has accompanist sessions that you can sign up for, for free. While most schools or businesses have you pay for these sessions, all we have to do is sign up and they're available whenever we need. My school also has a resource library with every movie and Musical score and libretto imaginable. We can ask for 4 copies of a song for only a dollar per title or make copies of our own for a script we may need. There's even a watching and listening station for any records or films they have in stock at the moment. And the biggest highlight about my school is that it's located less than a block away from the Pantages theatre where you can work part time and across the street from the Capitol records building. Seeing those two icons everyday reminds us all why we're going to that school and what our goals are.

Academic Experience: This school offers the ability to be a tripple threat, however, I feel that based on my major, the school doesn't offer as many dance or singing classes as I would have hoped. The acting classes are intense and hands on, the professors have an emotional connection to each and every student somehow, plays and shows are always well staged and rehearsed, and workload isn't overwhelming. Over all, I thouroughly love this school and what it has to offer.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Communication is lacking when it comes to tuition and financial aid. The school is very expensive because it is a private arts college, but sometimes I feel that the amount of money I am paying is not worth the hassle of dealing with the financial aid department. It is a headache for many students to figure out how they are paying for each semester and the aid department does little to help them figure out how they can fix the situation and many students end up leaving.

Career Services: They begin to help you with what life will be like once you graduate, but when you graduate it is not the school but the teachers that will help you find work and make connections.

Academic Experience: I am a Musical Theatre Major and I feel that many of the classes and environment at AMDA is NOT what was pitched to students at the beginning. I feel let down by housing, financial aid, and the english department in terms of helpfulness.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: You dont get the luxury of picking your class. Those are pre-set for you. And they range from 8 am to 5 pm. But you do get to choose your electives which are from 5:30 pm to 11 pm. And I am fine with that because many alumnis have been successful following the same process, I am willing to do the same.

Academic Experience: I am a musical theatre major and I love everything about it. Every class challenges my ability in creative ways. Teaching me new ways to approach and solve problems. The classes are demanding and sometimes intimidating but that is what i love about it. Helps me think on my feet.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think that for what i am paying for this school that i am getting my moneys worth although sometimes i wonder why we dont have nicer things considering the school is so darn expensive! There tends to be a lot of trouble off and on with financial aid. Although that is mostly what i hear through the grape vine. As far as me, i got some scholarships from the school and a big chunk of financial aid. So i think over all , its all about getting the work done and applying for all the right things.

Campus Resources: The Library is PACKED with nearly everything you will need for class. and because of the great location, Lincoln Center and A Public Library are all less than 5 blocks away from the school campus. A lot of information is also easily found online. There are discounted offers we get for local gyms for being amda students. You can keep your hands busy by voulenteering or even working at one of our many showcases (free for students to attend), also we get a lot of deals and discounts for Broadway and Off Broadway Shows!

Academic Flexibility: well honestly i'm a first semester and i haven't had much experience but i can say that the teachers are very good so far. dancing classes are great but you muussttt practice or it WILL show. same in the other classes there is a lot of preparation. its stressful and its not like a regular college where you can hang out much because you basically have to devote yourself to your craft. in the classroom it is obvious who teachers "like" most of the time so u basically have to deal with that and make the best of it until the semester's over.. changing that is out of your hands. sad but, eh .

Academic Experience: The faculty is amazing. they truly want you to do your best, and they want to see you succeed! The program is really well rounded in singing, dancing and acting, which was something I was definitely looking for when researching college programs. The library is so extensive, it's absolutely amazing! Any song you could ever want to perform is probably in the library for you to purchase for an extremely reasonable price.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Because the school is based on a conservatory system, the majority of your schedule is scheduled for you. You are given options as to which courses you would like to take to fulfill the requirements, but as to scheduling these courses, you really don't have much say.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There are SO many performance opportunities at the LA campus! From mainstage productions to student directed/produced productions, small blackbox to intimate cafe(caberet like) shows. The music library is an AMAZING resource!

3 College Junior

Student Body: my school is very good when it comes to the teachers and staff. there is no doubt that you are getting your money's worth in the class room. when it comes to working with the other students however is where it gets a little shaky. not everyone can work very well together and that's the only negative i really see about my school. your grade can come down if the group is bad. you are only as strong as your weakest link. so it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. also there is no meal plan and the food that is available is a bit too pricey. and seeing how we don't have much time in-between classes, you're kinda stuck with it.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am going to graduate in 5 months and still do not have a lot of my financial issues resolved and the staff at the school has barely met me half way with fixing these issues.
